Big Bad Voodoo Daddy - Live

If any of you are into swing/big band revival bands, check them out. Incredible live show.

br3ad_man 12-28-2006 05:54 PM

Low - Long Division
Philip Glass - Glassworks
Scarface - The Diary
Converge - Jane Doe

I picked up the Scarface record secondhand for $5 because I remember it being mentioned on here. It's awesome, like NWA without the cheese or something.

The Jungler 12-28-2006 09:48 PM
Philip Glass - Glassworks
I've had this record sitting at the foot of my bass amp forever and I still haven't listened to it.

I guess I probably should one of these days.

pixiesfanyo 12-28-2006 11:54 PM

Yeah man it's one of the best things ever.

Bonnie Prince Billy - I See a Darkness

Am I supposed to do some ritual to enjoy this or something?

This record is painstakingly perfect.

Continued with my metal kick:
Boris - Pink
Melvins - Houdini
Mastodon - Blood Mountain

Little Man being Erased 12-29-2006 02:52 AM

All Springsteen, all the time.

Glitterati 12-29-2006 03:25 AM

I think Little Man and I are two of the few Springsteen fans here.

Sigur Ros - ()

It's a type of music that makes you want to completely give up because you know in your heart you will never produce anything as heart-wrenchingly beautiful as this.

FA 12-29-2006 03:28 AM

Sigur Ros gets old..fast

I Was A Kaleidoscope 12-29-2006 04:27 AM

Sigur Ros is good but I only listen to them occasionally now.

I See A Darkness is not good!

That's one of the so called great records that I couldn't get into. And I like almost anything.
...what about it am I missing?

I listened to it a few times but it seemed boring.
And I listen to a lot of music some people would consider a lot more boring than that.
So...I dunno.

i am digging:
Hot Snakes - Audit In Progress
Envy - Insomniac Dose
Do Make Say Think - You, You're A History In Rust
!!! - Myth Takes
Deerhoof - Apple O'
Belle & Sebastian - Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like A Peasant
Girl Talk - Night Ripper

Robert Crumb 12-29-2006 12:14 PM

Mostly the Associates stuff I bought. So many awesome songs. Great sound.

_Mote_ 12-29-2006 12:16 PM

Atomizer - Big Black

Well, actually, it's the Rich Man's Eight-Track Tape, but whatever.

Bukowski 12-29-2006 01:01 PM

Lilys - Everything Wrong is Imaginary

I bought this because it has a cool cover (and wasn't expensive). Turns out the music is cool also.

_Mote_ 12-29-2006 01:13 PM

I love buying albums just because the cover work is cool.

I've discovered a few pretty cool bands that way.

Kyle 12-29-2006 02:14 PM

Semifinalists - Semifinalists
OutKast - ATliens
Jamie T - Panic Prevention

_Mote_ 12-29-2006 03:26 PM

sweboy 12-29-2006 04:16 PM

Dungen - Stadsvandringar
Comets on Fire - Avatar
Shai Hulud - That Within Blood Ill-Tempered

asymm 12-29-2006 06:13 PM

Mark Kozelek - Little Drummer Boy - Live
Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde

Happymeal 12-29-2006 06:59 PM

Sonic Youth - Washing Machine
Pajo - 1968

And on I See a Darkness, I think I understand its appeal, but I don't enjoy it as much as Viva Last Blues.

Eliminator 12-29-2006 07:26 PM

YDload 12-29-2006 11:58 PM

omg i still cant believe that daydream nation is really as good as the hype says

is it common knowledge that Candle is one of the best songs? i seem to remember people talking about it a lot and it would make sense.

Zmev 12-30-2006 12:09 AM

Candle is a sweet song, just like [any other song on DN].

br3ad_man 12-30-2006 01:42 AM
