Speaking of name changes, it has come to my attention that this thread has actually kept the same name for a while now. A little while back it seemed to get changed almost every day.
I like it. It helps me recognise the thread.

I'm one of those too!

Hi.
Finally got around to watching Dog Soldiers. Fucking awesome! I was disappointed that Spoon got killed. He took on a werewolf with his bare hands!
That is odd; if I'd been asked to name one person I was sure had seen Dog Soldiers, it probably would have been you.

Spoon rules.

Jev 03-30-2006 07:14 AM

What's it about? I've never seen it. Always meant to.

Jev 03-30-2006 07:17 AM

I see. I'll check it out then.

kurrpt 03-30-2006 07:55 AM

sat in with my new band last night...

it turns out the other guitarist only lives about 5-10 minutes from me. It also turns out that we like a lot of the same music as well. He's coming over tonight for "smoochie boochies" and playing on my Mesa before i have to send it off (sold for 1175 on ebay)

Jev 03-30-2006 08:01 AM

That's cool. Hope this band works out.

well, im really into working with this "Joel" character tbh. The hope is that we phase out the crap the other kid wrote, and it will be basically just me and him writing the material

Jev 03-30-2006 08:05 AM

Haha. I wish I had another guitarist to write with.
The band I'm in, I write everything for.

yea, im kinda glad i dont HAVE to do that. Im thinking since we both like the same music, we could easily influence the band's overall sound.

Hes been playing for 13 years apparently. I figured i really have no reason to tell them how long ive been playing. I can easily keep up with that kid. He beats me a bit in the rhythm department, but leads could kill him. Seem to be a perfect fit, or a yin/yang thing...

and here, hes the only other "smoker" in the band

Apocalyptic Raids 03-30-2006 08:11 AM

I got offered to play in a band the other day. I would have joined, but it was for playing bass, and I can't get access to a lefty bass :(

Unless I buy one.

NP: Venom - Black Metal

Jev 03-30-2006 08:11 AM

I'd play a righty left handed.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-30-2006 08:14 AM

On the basses I've played, the knobs are in an extremely poor position for that.

Otherwise I would just string it upside down.

o man, check ebay or something.

The singer of this band was on my arse for about 2 months straight before i joined.

I have a bass, my brother is left handed, and because of where the volume knob is, whenever he plays something, he turns the volume off...

kurrpt 03-30-2006 09:14 AM

i used to do that with my JEM. Thankfully i dont have that problem with my guitars now

ATM 03-30-2006 09:15 AM

I love my new guitar. It's an Epiphone SG.

kurrpt 03-30-2006 09:43 AM

how much did you pay. I used to have an epi SG 3 pup, in gold. Got rid of it quite some time ago actually.

i am the robots 03-30-2006 09:48 AM

Why'd you get rid of it? What are you gay?

Oh, and in my health class I'm doing a project on the Subway Diet, and it's hilariously retarded that people can think it's healthy.

Plus the kids in my class just discovered Google maps as of TODAY.

it just wasnt cutting it bro.

Considering i have a PRS tremonti sig, and a ESP 7 string baritone (SRC sig) It would be a complete friggin waste

i am the robots 03-30-2006 09:51 AM

Meh, I'm quite attatched to my crappy old Sammick, even though my Ibanez is so much nicer... it's just, you know, it was my first guitar.

kurrpt 03-30-2006 09:54 AM

my first guitar was an epi LP standard. I wound up selling it to a friend's brother. I gave him a VERY good deal as well.

Ive went through so many damn guitars, its not even funny

i am the robots 03-30-2006 09:56 AM

Heh, I'm on my second electric and my first acoustic right now.

Both are Ibanez... so good for the price.

kurrpt 03-30-2006 09:58 AM

The only Ibanez ive ever owned was a JEM, and for a brief period of time. Im a firm believe that Steve Vai must get some kind of specially made one (which seems obvious). I thought it was an extremely overrated guitar thats only worth about 1/2 of what they charge

i am the robots 03-30-2006 10:00 AM

I got an AE model acoustic, it was like $500 and totally worth it. My electric was only $150 and it's fine. Then again I've been playing for like what, 2-3 years? I'm not really the most reliable source :p.

kurrpt 03-30-2006 10:02 AM

haha, ill hit 2 yrs next month

gillygan 03-30-2006 10:04 AM

Hows the Krank Kurrpt?

actually, fukking fantastic :thumb:

I refuse to waste any more of my time getting a good recorded sound out of it. You can thank the arseholes in the guitar for that
