Anyone heard 'A Forest of Stars' or 'De Magia Veterum'? Got their new albums in the mail the other day, curious if I should check them out sooner rather than later. They're both on Transcendental Creations.

A Forest of Stars are pretty good, it's basically WITTR type of Black Metal with some beautiful Violins. I really like it.

Haven't heard the other band.

I've never even heard of Mgla until you guys just started talking about them. What are they like? What's a good album to download?

Well all of their EPs are fantastic, [I]Presence[/I] being the best IMO. Try that out and see what you think.

this De Magia Veterum album is really obnoxious so far. It's too noisy.

Edit: Okay gotten better. Still way, way too much distortion. There's some really cool riffs but they're so buried.

This Mgla band is pretty good. I'm liking this so far.

Awesome, glad you're enjoying it. Be sure to check out [I]Groza[/I] too. It's their only album, and it's just as good as the EPs.

WRONG, they have good riffs and interesting ideas thats no doubt BUT its way to repetitive and drags far too much, haphazardly put together sometimes it seems, songs are aimless at times. my gf loves Inquisition so heard all their albums quite a bit. seein em in October.

I don't really like Inquisition. Never could get into the vocals.
