Yesterday was hawwwt. I went to go see So Many Dynamos, which were a-m-a-zing and another local band called the Arch, who were fronted by a 30-something yr old, chubby man with a combover who also played the trumpet. They played this sweet cover of Domo Ariogato, and had maybe a 5-song set, the last song being around 30 minutes long. I was somewhat crunk'd at this point on rum and cranberry juice and blackberry merlot, and decided to drink more so I could be even more crunk'd for So Many Dynamos, and was a fucking freak on the dance floor. Afterwards, we did some hanging out with the bands and went home. Good times.

I finished all my Christmas shopping today. I feel good.

Anxious 12-10-2005 06:59 PM

I have no obligation to buy gifts. I feel good.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 12-10-2005 08:50 PM

So Many Dynamos are good.
I don't really buy Christmas presents, I buy birthday presents.

YDload 12-10-2005 08:56 PM

I just buy Christmas presents for my two brothers. I'm a music jerk now so I am going to buy them CDs of bands they are unfamiliar with but I will assert that they like

Nerds.

I'm no king. Besides, I'd never want to be apart of your Nerd Society. You in fact make me sick. I can't view your user name without wanting to bash your face in or vomit on it. I can't stand it.
If loving Star Wars is wrong, I don't wanna be right.
I don't like Star Wars.

br3ad_man 12-10-2005 09:44 PM

From the gig discussion earlier...

Gigs I will be missing in the near future:

The Kills
Les Savy Fav
Broken Social Scene
Behemoth
A number of Tapey's gigs
The Shins
Deerhoof

ghey

My friend's birthday party was real nice last night. She is the most innocent person I know, so seeing her drink alcohol was probably the wierdest thing I've seen all year.

Zappa 12-10-2005 09:48 PM

I played some ska today. 6 of us, three of which are named "Ben" got together and basically jammed in the key of G for two hours. I played trumpet, of course.

It actualy wasn't bad.

Neat.

I decided to just go back to what I've always done best, experimental crap, and I started a band with other bassist and a drummer. I think we'll just keep it with two bassists and drummer and just make our song really short with alot of extra noise-odd crap mixed in.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 12-10-2005 10:00 PM

I really REALLY want to see BSS and Sigur Ros.
Sigur Ros are expanding from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane this year, to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth next year.
Why did they decide to go to Perth and miss Adelaide? And why are BSS missing Adelaide too? Everyone always misses Adelaide, all the time. I want to see bands I actually like, dammit.

br3ad_man 12-10-2005 10:02 PM

Same here. The only difference is that I actually will be able to see bands I like in about 10 months. I'm going to Blues and Roots to see Sigur Ros, unless their Brisbane show turns out to be all ages, which it won't.

EDIT: I just might be able to see Antony and the Johnsons. That would be great.

Ahh, Chinese buffet night:smoke:

So Many Dynamos are good. They are really good friends with some of my friends, whatevz, so we chilled out with Norm (the drummer) and talked to Aaron and Nathan for awhile after the show and Griffin stayed at a friend's house with us. I feel like I know famous people.

Seriously, how do you not like Star Wars? It's an awesome action/adventure story.
Ahh, Chinese buffet night:smoke:
Oh man. There's a Chinese buffet a little ways away from my house, and it's awesome. For, like, eight bucks, you get an evening of awesome food.

np: Sufjan Stevens - The Black Hawk War

They're pretty famous if I like them, seeing as I live in Australia.

Glitterati 12-10-2005 11:54 PM

Since I don't have enough money for presents, I'm writing some of my friends songs for Christmas.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 12-10-2005 11:54 PM

Ahh I just had like an eargasm or something while listening to On Fire by Lightning Bolt.

An eargasm, you say? Sounds messy.

Why aren't you on watch in the pit miss pit mod?

A spam thread slipped through your mod grasp for about an hour, and I had to give Relmar and Noonward Race 2 weeks each for spam.
Living in a major city is awesome.
Living one hour from a major city is awesome because the excitement of wherever we go builds on the way there and on the way home we get to excitedly discuss what we did.

But it's not very often :(

I can never get a straight answer when I come in here. :-/

Hey I just closed a thread, plus I knew the answer.

Double whammy.
