Imagine yourself being called a 'God.'
People were saying back then that God wasn't dead, he picked up a Les Paul and was playing the blues. They idolized Clapton. One of my favourite stories of Clapton is when he went to see Hendrix played for the first time. When the show was over, no one was impressed by him. Everyone thought that Clapton was better than that 'show-off.' But on the way to his apartment, Clapton was on a taxi with his rommate and was floored. His rommate asked him what was wrong and Clapton answered that his career was over.
How could you not love clapton. I saw him last year and I was absolutely on a high for the longest time it was ridiculous. |
Don't tell me I missed all the Clapton talk :upset:
|
I'd kill to go to the Cream reunion show in England.
|
I'd kill to go to the Cream reunion show in England.
Me too. Although I count myself lucky enough already to have seen Clapton live. |
Same here. I would do anything to go and see Cream.
Hopefully they'll figure out how much the world needs Cream and do a world tour, and yes, they will come to Puerto Rico.
How could you not love clapton. I saw him last year and I was absolutely on a high for the longest time it was ridiculous.
Where did you see him? |

Where and when? |
Clapton once said that "Layla & Other Assorted Love Songs" was fueled by three things: Drugs, alcohol, and mad, undying love. You really can't go wrong with that, am I right?
|
He came to Detroit last July, but the tickets were too much. Instead I saw Van Halen.
/regret |

The ACC In Toronto Last year. It was ridiculously amazing. |

Damn you... I wish I could see him live... Specially him doing While My Guitar Gently Weeps, but I'm asking too much there. |

I still say we should've asked if they'd allow us back stage. My friends say it was a stupid idea because they'd never let us, but i figured what's the worst that could happen. |
They say no.
You should've, man. Meeting Clapton? Meeting God in person? Why go to Heaven? (I'm going to Hell for this, I know it.) |
They say no.

I know I should've I mean I figure chances are they say no, but still, there's a chance they say yes and why the hell would you pass up what has the potential to be one of the defining moments of your entire life. I'm a dumbass, |
Actually I figure if you were to get close enough down the line they wouldn't have a problem with letting you backstage, if you were for example talking to someone who is actually in fairly close contact with clapton. I figure the hard bit would be getting the regular workers at the acc to let you get that far.
|
I will have to agree with you on this one.
Now you're gonna go you whole life lamenting over that moment. You'll probably say this story to your children, and then to your grandchildren. |
Screw It I paid 110$ and It was worth more than every penny.
Yea I agree. But I bought the VH tickets before I even knew Clapton was coming . |
Who else owns Clapton Unplugged? Is it just me, or is that one of the best "mellow" albums ever?
|

I'm going to meet him though, I've decided that now. I'm also going to figure out whether I would have made it backstage or not. |
Van Halen came to Puerto Rico. I didn't go.
|
Van Halen came here. I also didn't go, but my dad did and he said they were awesome.
|
I wish I knew a way to contact clapton.

We were talking about Robert Randolph the other day...I just found out I'm seeing him April 7th at Providence College (my bro's college) and he's with Talib Kweli. Next day is prom. That should be a good two days.

Saw him..... With clapton. !!!!! suckers! Man I feel so badly now though. I'm going to bed and I'm going to find a way to prove to myself that it was completely impossible for me to make it backstage. |

I'd like to see him. There are some good shows coming here this summer, Steve Miller, Deep Purple, Edgar Winter Band, and most likely the Allmans. |
Pray, my friend, pray.
 Well I've joined his mailing group, that's the first step. That's the first step. Anyways good night. and Happy easter. |
I"m going to do it. I've just got to. I feel so stupid right now, It's ridiculous.
Me too. The way I see it, what other chance do I have, is to start a blues band, and become good enough to be invited to the next "Crossroads". Like John Mayer. /not gonna happen. /or will it? ;) |

Yeah I've got quite a summer coming up...Bonnaroo and Lynyrd Skynyrd is playing with the Allman Brothers for a night that should be good, having them two jam together. I would love to see Steve Miller...I love him because he made music that actually sounded good while still rocking out. He's the man, sweet voice too. |

Yeah I'm going with two buddies and an industrial van. I'm equally stoked for the ABB/Skynyrd tour, I can just picture "Freebird" switching over to ABB and evolving into a sick 15 minute jam. |
Random: My hard rock cafe just got a new addition its Pete Townshend's SG that he played at Woodstock (the one he hit on the ground) and I got to touch it. :)
At the end of Revolution #9 the people chant "Paul is dead! Paul is dead! Paul is dead! Paul is dead!...." |
So, who does everyone wanna see live, before they die or you die?
(excluding Zeppelin and Floyd because everyone wants to see them, but it's not gonna happen) 1. Cream reunion/ Clapton (The tickets sold out 4 nights in 2 hours!) 2. Paul McCartney 3. Neil Young |
I'd like to see
Paul McCartney Simon/Garfunkel Lynyrd Skynyrd Led Zeppelin (i doubt they'll go on a reunion, they can't replace bonham) etc i've already seen clapton, if you can go DO IT! it's a great show |
