Yeah, that's generally the same way I feel. Putting together a list of the best albums of the year isn't nearly as easy as last year.

I haven't been too interested in metal for the most part of this year anyway.

I've got about 20 on my list so far. So yeah, kinda iffy year.

Other than the new Cynic is there any other notable death metal to look out for the rest of this year?

I can't think of any. But go back a few months and get the last Dead Congregation, a lot of people seemed to miss it.

I'm pissed about Necrophagist constantly pushing back their new album. I remember an interview from about a year ago saying they'd have one in 08. boo :angry:

Hopefully The Faceless will be awesome, though their preproduction song on their myspace wasn't that great.

yeah Necro's been touring recently, but not anywhere close to LA.

I loved the Faceless song, but it seems nobody else does. It's got a lot of nice influences in it and is groovy as hell.

I liked about half of the song, though the slower part had that guitar solo that annoyed the hell out of me.

It was godawful tbh

Formation of Damnation disappointed you? Man, I'm still loving that album even after listening to the songs over and over.

Dead Congregation - Graves of the Archangels
Protest the Hero - Fortress

Again though I haven't checked much out, maybe like 13-14 albums...
