 This guy is great.

TzarChasm 04-06-2010 03:09 PM

If I get banned it certainly won't be for legitimate rules violations. This isn't worth wasting any more of my time on. I'll let you get back to your circle-jerk hate-a-thon now.

Aakon_Keetreh 04-06-2010 03:09 PM

lol what is this kids problem haha

Spamming is legitimate.

Regardless, going through and building my metalcore section back up (had to reformat my laptop couldn't back up anything in time) so I'm listening to coalesce for the first time in ages.
Case in point, children. Case in point. Go back to your safe little worlds full of confirmation bias (look that one up) and blind-faith, dogmatic atheism. Blind faith and dogmatic atheism = hand in hand? What?

Stop whining.

Scoot 04-06-2010 03:14 PM

The Ghost Inside's new song is pretty kickass. Just got into these guys.

witchxrapist 04-06-2010 03:20 PM
The last three or four pages of this thread are sooooooooooo edgy! I, too, prefer to classify people according to the lowest common denominators in their culture/worldview/religion, and thus claim superiority. This is most satisfying when I don't actually don't know what they believe, since I've spent too long hating them blindly to care.

(At the very least, I prefer to remain ignorant of the context for their beliefs; that way I can avoid the high ground of having to debate things like textual criticism, anthropological or archaeological evidence, historical accuracy and other empirical studies. If it can't fit on a tee-shirt or a black metal album cover, it's clearly bad theology!)

Logical fallacies rulez, d00d! LOL! I'm gonna go stereotype some more and spit vitriol all over the Internet in the most inappropriate places just to show how stupid other people are for cramming their imbecilic views down my throat! We should throw them all to lions, revoke their civil rights and mock them publicly. Stupid, controlling idiots... Always looking down on others and living differently from me. Loser hypocrites!

</SARCASMSARCASMSARCASMSARCASMSARCASM>
i doubt you'd write all that to be sarcastic

i also take it you're a christian

cool story bro
Thanks for asking, sweetheart, but no. See, here's how the Internet really works: you hate me, and for no valid reason. You spend a few days with other people who feel the exact same way, and together you spit on me and millions of others whom you actually don't know dick about when push comes to shove. You mock us in self-righteous fervor and feel special because your view is uncontested.

Then someone with an IQ over 63 comes along and posts a rebuttal, or at least offers to square up and debate rationally, should you actually think you have some valid justification for your bias. You don't, so you tell them to shut up, whereupon every other troll in the thread jumps in, picking a fight. I'll probably eventually be banned for defending myself, even though I never attacked anyone personally, nor said one word which could be misconstrued as religious antagonism.

You'll all sit around long after I'm gone and talk about how right you were, and how Satan banned me for being stupid. I honestly won't care much, either way. We'll both know that it had little to do with religion, intolerance or opinion. You just hated having to constantly tab over to www.dictionary.com to figure out what my big, fifth-grade words meant.

And yet somehow this can't possibly work in both directions, could it? >_> I'm advocating a legitimate stance here, sure, but I'm certainly not getting angry or bent out of shape. Rather, I'm enjoying myself.
nothing of what you said has been challenging, convincing or interesting

but most of all, it hasn't been relevant since no one is debating you

Scoot 04-06-2010 03:34 PM

I love when new posters assume that nobody on these forums is educated past fifth grade.

Pete 04-06-2010 03:36 PM
I love when new posters assume that nobody on these forums is educated past fifth grade.
also, i don't see where he saw anyone initiating conversation with him =/ i mean why be all dramatic and "satan will ban me" when youre the only one in a fight

Scoot 04-06-2010 03:41 PM

It seems as if he was trying to prove his own intelligence...when nobody in particular was questioning it in the first place.
It seems as if he was trying to prove his own intelligence...when nobody in particular was questioning it in the first place.
and that in itself kinda makes me questioning it

i mean, he's the one who brought up tabbing over to dictionary.com while using big words

hmmmmmm...?

2muchket! 04-06-2010 03:46 PM

Just trying to show he's a cool guy eh uses dictionary.com and doesn't afraid of anything

Apoc 04-06-2010 06:09 PM

well uh

that got out of hand. rather unsurprisingly.

Mr. TzarChasm if you're still reading (though you said you were done) and you'd like to have a discussion along similar lines without making the category mistake of ascribing the incendiary position of a few trolls to the entire rest of the forum, I'd be glad to oblige you. Although I am now inclined to believe you'd sooner let it lie having said your piece about how childish and stupid we all are, without needing to address anyone in particular. Of course you claimed we'd have no response to someone who 'posts a rebuttal, or at least offers to square up and debate rationally;' I saw neither of these things in any of your recent posts, which all seemed to be designed to antagonize atheists who are self-assured in their atheism. This, while surely a righteous enough cause in of itself, is neither of the two things which you (ostensibly) claimed to have done.

I must admit though, your eloquence and lexicon continue to perplex me; such words as 'vitriolic' were indeed demonstrative of such a degree of erudition that I needed to tab over to dictionary.com a total of seven times just to get the definition in my tiny atheist head.

A Dark Orbit and When Knives Go Skyward are two of the most underrated bands in the metalcore genre.
So I need to get back into (or find new) metalcore bands/albums, any suggestions?
I consider these essential metalcore:

Prayer For Cleansing - The Rain In Endless Fall
Rifles At Recess - To Whisper In Tongues
Undying - At History's End (last three are very melodic death metal-y and basically the prototype for the melodic side of deathcore)
Embrace The End - Counting Hallways To The Left (same vein as the last three but with a lot of hardcore vocals)
Rosesdead - Stages
Between The Buried And Me - The Silent Circus
Drowning Man - Don't Touch Us When We're Hot
Coalesce - Last Call For The Living

The Secret - Luce

Misery Signals - Of Malice And The Magnum Heart
The Acacia Strain - 3750
