I've never had a cool guitar related injury, I'm unexciting.

I fell down some steps however. I cut my hands open.

OW

That certainly sounds like quite a bit of pain, Happy.
I just took a two-hour nap, and I feel kinda better. My head still feels sleepy, but at least my stomach's quited down.

And irony members annoy me. Especially in situations such as that.
The only part that annoyed me was the bit where they accused me of just being there to cause trouble.

I only went to say hi and because my (Christian) friend said (sarcastically) when asked where he was going "To Christian union, you should so come along."

I'm just irritated.

Bloody christians, such hypocrites.

Spectrum 11-07-2005 01:24 PM

Everybody's a hypocrite these days, moaner. Except for yourself and myself.

Meh, all the other images were Pokémon.
But these were Ye Olde English dressed up people. One looked like Robin Hood.
And there was a wonderful sight of 2 chavs flying round the corner on their bikes, only to hit a uneven part of the pavement and go flying in front of us. Had the whole street giggling.

1- yes very odd
2- wish I was there, any chav ridiculing moment is worth it
3- ok ok so I ahevnt been on too much recently but you've never been on on the occasion I have (and you're "away" atm)
bloody christians, such hypocrites.
My Dad's friend got angry at them for doing a carols in the park thing, and they have to build a big stage, and they carve big holes in the grass. So My Dad's friend is out walking his dog at night, and the Doggy fell down a hole, and it couldn't get out. So My Dad's friends want to go and have a Satanist meeting at the top of the park, let off loads of fireworks, and make a huge Pentagram made from candles.

It kinda ached. I expected it to bleed a lot more, It bled like a bitch and just stopped.
Hasn't stopped me playing though.

GurS 11-07-2005 11:08 PM

/FODs yo' asses

I traded in my bass, which i haven't played for nigh on two years, for a brand new Boss PH-3 (for guitaring with).

Oh yeh

Tip for ya'll:
For a psychadelic swirly tone that is useful for really make a solo shine, use an overdrive pedal set to max drive, and use a phaser set to almost minimum depth, max rate and the resonance set to about 4 o'clock. stage = -10

It'll stand out from the rest of the mix, and will shimmer away like a hippie bitch on speed

Spectrum 11-07-2005 11:11 PM

Ah, man, you took both FOD's in one fell swoop!

Sounds like you've got a nice new guitar and some nice new settings to mess with to keep you busy for a while, GurS. Enjoy that.

GurS 11-08-2005 01:29 AM

Heh, Boss PH-3 = Phase Shifter (i.e. Phaser). It's a stomp box. It was a REALLY crappy bass.

But thankee anyway :)

Adam Jones is GOD 11-08-2005 03:36 AM

I take no tips form a drummer :p

Its funny though, at the moment my mini waist clip-on amp has a better tone than my MG, which is 10x the size and power.

the_uber_penguin 11-08-2005 06:16 AM

Hehe...it's because its got more natural distortion because you've got it turned up louder compared to its maximum volume.

Adam Jones is GOD 11-08-2005 06:46 AM

Well that would be a good explanation, if it wasnt for the fact that all MG's suck

moaner 11-08-2005 07:10 AM

hahaha

Like School of Rock?

Jev 11-08-2005 11:13 AM

Uhh my amp sucks balls, it's a 100watt marshall that I got for free but it's so old that it has a different name and the valve's knackered.

Untitled 11-08-2005 11:15 AM

I have a pretty good amp, just need a good bass to run threw it.

Jev 11-08-2005 11:26 AM

I want to get a Bass. I want to be able to play more instruments.

Brew 11-08-2005 11:28 AM

Bass is cool.

Everyone knows the bassists are the coolest.

Jev 11-08-2005 11:55 AM

Kazoo players are even cooler.

Female bass palyers = instantly hot.

Look at Million Dead, Coal Chamber, Subways (to some extent), Kitti......well, I still stand by my statement.

And of course, good male bassists need long hair. (Burton, Dream Theater, Brew, etc)

Spectrum 11-08-2005 12:06 PM

I think keyboardists are pretty darn awesome. I mean, look at all the work the good ones have to do. We have to switch between keyboards and voice settings at a moment's notice, maybe playing two at once, and have to know how yo use both hands simultaneously and independently. And all the harmonies that we can accomplish by ourselves is mind blowing.

Keyboardists for teh win.

Jev 11-08-2005 12:11 PM

I wish I could play keyboard.

Adam Jones is GOD 11-08-2005 12:12 PM

I try playing keyboard, but I just go into mellotron each time

Spectrum 11-08-2005 12:14 PM

I'm mostly an electric piano guy myself, though I'd love to try a Mellotron or a Korg. Those are supposed to be very nice.

Refl 11-08-2005 01:34 PM

I would love to be able to play piano well.

GurS 11-08-2005 01:40 PM

I too would love to be able to play piano well.

Oh wait.

I can :)

Don't forget The Suffrajets.

Me and Bo should be recording the beginnings of our 8-track Punky/Bluesy EP tomorrow, which sould be a laugh.

isn't a mellotron just a type of synth?

Theyre finished now.

I followed them around on their last few dates around the UK, theyre all great guys.

Spectrum 11-08-2005 05:30 PM

I think the Mellotron is indeed a type of synth.

I did my American civic duty and voted today. I feel special.

Just quoting as the word mellotron appeared above and below a Porcupine Tree avatar, which has the biggest mellotron whore in the music industry in it

moaner 11-09-2005 05:06 AM

I read up on themellotron.Itsactually a type ofsampler, which isalmost exclusively used for synth and orchestral style noises.

they're now extremely rare and expensive, with a new onesetting you back~$5k, USD.

Adam Jones is GOD 11-09-2005 06:11 AM

Hmmm, i've been barking up the wrong tree then.

I thought it was more of a general term for that type of effect, not a specific piece of equipment
