And the way he holds his bass horizontally reminds me of Cliff Williams (ACDC). Incidentally, it looks uncomfortable and retarded, but whatever works for him I guess.

Really? I thought Dirk had next to no presence at all D:
Incubus never have moved around much though. |
Nevermind, the video was of them on a small stage. He moves around much more during the heavier portions of the red rocks concert vid.
The guitarist uses like 40 effects and is constantly flipping between them. I don't think he has much time to move. :P I though Dirk had a decent stage presence in their "Nice to Know You" video on Letterman. I wish I'd been a fan of their music when he was still in the band for comparison purposes, but I'm always late when finding bands and bassists. |
Ben's a sick player. I've never placed any importance on whether someone moves around much on stage, I know it matters to a lot of people but it's the last thing that matters to me about a musician.

Sure, but as a member of the audience, it's hard to want to move around to the music of the people on stage wont even do it. You don't see many mosh pits at the New York Philharmonic shows. I'm just sayin... |
Yeah, it's probably because when I am in an audience I don't actually want to move. I just like to stand somewhere and look around at the players. I know most people are different about it though and that's cool.

I get like that sometimes too. Especially if it's a song I really like and really just want to watch the band perform. To each his own though. |
Yeah, I mean it's great to see players get into the music of course, but getting into the music isn't always about jumping around and whatnot.
|
Maybe when you heard "encore," they were actually saying "no more."
I dunno... I distinctly heard a C. Even though it wasn't the biggest crowd we've played to, it seemed to be one of the best received sets we've played. |
Nice one. What kind of band is it?

Need I say more?
That's pretty much on the button. |
The guitarist in Incubus actually has a pretty small pedalboard if I remember rightly. Mostly uses his ring mod for weird effects.
|
incubus sucks
|
This guy .
Learn to set it up yourself? It's not hard to do man. All you need is a tuner, allen keys, a Phillips head screwdriver, and a bit of time.
1. Adjust neck if needed 2. Restring 3. Tune up 4. Set action how you like it 5. Retune 6. Check the intonation by holding at the 12th and seeing if it's in tune 7. Adjust intonation at the bridge 8. Dig on that ****
Restring first, so you neck can adjust to any changes in tension. :) |

Haha yeah that's what I was getting at too. |
Argh, can't concentrate.
|
are you implying that i am overly negative and hate everything?
right cause incubus = everything jesus ****in christ you people never cease to amaze me |
incubus have had moments of brilliance, and moments of pure toss, but i still like them
|
Some of their earlier stuff wasn't bad. SCIENCE, Make Yourself, and Morning View have some songs that I really like.
|
I like Redefine. That's bout it.
|
I saw them live a long time ago, I think they were touring for Morning View. Deftones opened for them. It was a very enjoyable show at the time.
|
I saw them 2 years ago and they were amazing.
|
Incubus are tight musicians. Haven't been interested in their songs for a few albums now but I'd never say they were a bad band.
|
I've hated everything they've done since after Morning View.
|
Brandon was always going to lose the plot when he got old.
|
I like my band better.
http://www.myspace.com/riverstonehaze opinion? |
I love that phrase.
There are a couple good concerts coming up that I'll probably be going to. June 2 - TV On The Radio June 16 - Teenage X June 17 - CKY Good month for concerts. Plus, I'm playing one on June 26th. And hopefully another one earlier in the month. |
I need Jeremy to come back from Europe so we can write more, and actually put a band together.
|
Incubus is amazing live. Going to throw that out there.
|
incubus suffers from some of the worst mixing and post-processing ive ever heard
jordan turned me on to pay attention to the mix of incubus for an example of pro audio engineers who suck **** |
Any particular albums? I quite like the sounds of most of their albums, for what they are.
