well, it goes taps, then string skip skipping, then arps, then string skipping, then arps.
I can actually get the string skipping up to speed. The taps fuk me up when im trying to do it double time. Some days, i get the arps up to 90%, other days, not so much. The consistency wasnt there, so i figured i should just play at the speed thats always comfortable. I have the tab + video of those Godless Endeavor arps. Maybe ill learn that this weekend |
oh yeah, that one harmonized part between the two string skipping bits that I never learned. I thought that was just straight diminished runs.
Do you have a video of Loomis playing the TGE arps (the straight minor/major ones, not the diminished ones)? I've only seen a video of that kid on youtube who can nail them. |
advanced metal theorization itt
|
o sh!t, ive never seen that kid you are talking about
yea, i got the video with the guitar world. I think its part 4 where he does those sweeps you are talking about. And you are right, those arps in final product are all diminished. Loomis uses a very un-orthodox picking pattern, which i wanted to mimic. Not because i whore his nuts or anything, but if it seems weird to me at first, I'm all about making it seem easy. I think ima go to my brothers place this weekend for some online gaming. Ill try to remember that video, make a fred, and upload it for ya :thumb: with those videos, they REALLY dont help you master it. For me, its like.. /watches video "O!!! so THATS what NOT sucking is like...." |
advanced metal theorization itt
thats probably the most sophisticated thing you've said referring to me.. joke or not |
i have found that the less you think about picking techniques the far better you will be
|

Minor, major, AND diminished this is some srsly intense theory discussion amirite krup; http://youtube.com/watch?v=20zprLsvOy8 that's the kid, he also nails Psalm of Lydia and some other stuff fckn prick |
i have found that the less you think about picking techniques the far better you will be
definitely true. The trick is to make it seem like there is no thinking involved, so as not to confuse your picking hand. What I try to do is purposely confuse the little mother fukker, and work through the hardships. It seems that im not at 100% when leading with an upstroke, unless im going from a higher string to a lower string (like high e to b, etc) I tend to learn things both ways (alt, and eco) and see what feels "easier" for me, then ill work on the harder one. TBF, is there anywhere else i can watch that video. This sh!tty computer doesnt support that flash |
Arrrgh, actual debates itt. Where's my mndless chit-chat gone?
|

i just bought some milk
Well I just mowed me lawn, i'm poppin over me drummer's for a brew in a bit. I'm still fucking wammo'd like from last night. Semi skimmed is the best milk ever. |
the MIDI backing track makes me rofl though
just let brits be brits
i can't it is part of my insatiable desire just like mr. t needs to dance
Well I just mowed me lawn, i'm poppin over me drummer's for a brew in a bit.
what speed are they at?
that dudes technique wasnt the best btw, but he seemed better at the higher frets than myself, fukking prick
It's 16th-note triplets at around 150. Yeah that guy's technique wasn't that clean, but he's worlds ahead of me so meh the kid on youtube's better and he looks like he's like 16 |
that's only like 7 notes per second
|
that's only like 7 notes per second
How the hell is that possible, seriously |
thats not bad at all. I can do some of the "easier" 5 strings at that speed actually.
I say easier because i practice way too much over other shapes. |
How the hell is that possible, seriously
considering i can consistently do 6 notes a second, i find that easily believeable |
Semi skimmed is the best milk ever.
No, full cream is, you twat. |
How the hell is that possible, seriously
say "the watermelon milkshake" in one second i've recorded stuff two years ago which ended up being 16-18 nps at peaks sure it wasn't complicated but not much ever is at those speeds |
ihaha silly guy british people don't have lawns
