I eat peanuts with the shells on.

Riva 06-27-2006 05:38 AM

Roger's long lost son?

Hamilcar 06-30-2006 10:09 PM

This thread has to stop falling into the abyss.

Anyways, it appears that while Roger is touring in the Middle East, he took the opportunity to leave his mark lol.

He is truly devoted to politics. So is anyone else looking forward to what Rick Wright will be able to do for his next solo effort after touring with Gilmour?

magicbus 06-30-2006 11:05 PM

Hahaha. Nice job Roger. That made me laugh.

Riva 07-02-2006 04:05 AM

He's getting a bit of a beer belly recently.

MidnightRider 07-02-2006 07:47 AM

Eh, I guess you kind of have to expect that. He's not exactly young anymore. Anyway, compared to Dave he looks like a 13 year old girl. Hehe.

Grant 07-02-2006 11:47 AM

Great picture, good to see someone in the Western world hasn't forgotten about that wall.

Hamilcar 07-02-2006 03:47 PM

Ok, so I was at the record store today and found Ummagumma. This is easily the most F-ed up record I've ever heard. I'm currently on the 3rd side about to listen to Roger Waters' piece, but Wright's isn't that great.

Riva 07-02-2006 06:52 PM

But the tape version is top class.

And David looks so bloody creepy now. Those eyebrows!

Jim 07-03-2006 03:42 AM

Roger's the only one who looks under sixty. Had some work done perhaps? I don't wanna speculate, but just compare a current photo of the stubborn one with that of the cover of PATGOD. Anyone else notice the apparent size downgrade in the Waters shnoz?

standard 07-04-2006 01:42 AM

So I pretty much just realized that High Hopes is an amazing song.. Personally I think in lyrics it's well, but musically there is no doubt. What a good ending to an album as well.. Not Floyds best, but yeah. I think High Hopes is the best post-Waters song.

On the topic.. I'm going to literally shit my pants when the Pulse DVD comes out.

Jim 07-05-2006 03:21 AM
I'm going to literally **** my pants when the Pulse DVD comes out.
Let's just say I'm waaay ahead of you.

And High Hopes is a corker. The lap-steel guitar solo in the end is brillo too. My favourite post-Waters track would probably be Coming Back To Life.

Riva 07-05-2006 03:43 AM

The best Post-Waters song is Learning To Fly. I love it.

standard 07-06-2006 12:36 AM
The best Post-Waters song is Learning To Fly. I love it.
It's good.. But I can't stand the generic 80s sound to it.

711 07-06-2006 07:08 AM

I dont like Learning to Fly as much. But High Hopes is such an incredible song. A Great day for Freedom from the Division Bell album is fantastic.

BigTrav415 07-07-2006 08:17 PM
aaaah folklore lol. My dad also claimed that he saw Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Van Halen in the same week haha.
I'm not exactly sure, but I think that could have happened in '79. But I don't know if I could handle seeing Zeppelin's '79 tour, Pink Floyd perform The Wall, and Van Halen all in the same week. I'd probably keel over and die of happiness after just one of those concerts

I personally subscribe to the theory that Roger went to see The Mothman Prophecies, walked out of the theater, drove straight to a plastic surgeon, and said, "I want to look exactly like Richard Gere." The resemblance is just too similar to be coincidental :p

Jim 07-08-2006 11:54 PM

Holy crapola. I think you're onto something. I never noticed it before, but now it's just uncanny.

That's one of my favorite albums of all time.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-12-2006 07:22 AM

Indeed he should!

oh wait I think it's past his bedtime :o

Mr. Black 07-12-2006 08:34 AM

Man, Barrett's gone at sixty, isch.

That ain't old.

RIP you crazy diamond.

LF96 07-12-2006 11:14 AM

Wow, that came as a shock. RIP. I'm just now really getting into Syd's stuff with Pink Floyd.

The Pulse DVD should be out right now (according to the posters on the walls in my city, at least), has anyone already checked it out?

Grant 07-12-2006 01:03 PM

I bought PULSE earlier today on DVD. The picture quality and sound quality is phenomenal, the highest quality I've ever seen in a concert DVD.

The actual performances present are what make the DVD worth it. Every song is performed wonderfully, Gilmour is in top form here. Basically, if you consider yourself a fan of Pink Floyd, buy this DVD as soon as you finish reading this post. You will not regret it one bit.

RIP Syd Barrett, you were an amazingly creative person and I'm happy to know that you have finally found peace. Rest in peace and shine on...

Deconstruction 07-12-2006 01:05 PM

Syd will be missed, does anyone actually know how he died? He wont be forgotten.
RIP
