Not that anyone's counting, I'm sure ;)
I'm about to fall asleep here.
Yep, same here.

Huge Edit:

It has been a busy week.

Two new domino database websites were made, and are now up and running.
I met with a bloke from a local design company who we're getting to re-do an online publication of ours, and chatted about our expectations.
Worked on decomissions two existing websites and combining them into one new one.
Whipped up some dreamweaver templates for us to be able to give to companies who do html conversion of documents for us.
Worked on (and nearly finished) a big A1 wall poster.

And will probably be equally busy next week....
Getting that A1 poster finished and printed out (finally).
My youth week website is having a major release about mid week.
Customising a search engine results page (which is a lot more involved than it may seem).
And maybe get some of that documentation that I've been putting off for weeks finished off.

Busy busy busy.
But it's nice actually feeling like I'm earning my dollars.

Tonight is a quiet one for me. But there's a big party next friday night tho. A good friend is heading off overseas.

Trigger_003 02-17-2006 03:36 AM

Crazy stuff there Chris.

Argh, this is so frustrating! Dad called me in to watch some documentry on global warming and it's basically saying that within 20 years it's going to be impossible to attempt to reverse the effects - that's if people take serious action now. Fat chance, I'm thinking.
Basically, the only course of action energy-wise that scientists are seeing that will mean no increase in carbon emissions is going to nuclear energy - which is pretty depressing (solar, wind, etc. is great but implimenting it is going to take too long in terms of this). But the amount of deaths and casualties that would be caused by nuclear energy (there will be if it's put into use) as compared to billions that would be wiped out by global warming - probably in our lifetime - is fairly minimal, as bad as that sounds.

I'm no hard-core hippy/greeny type but it still gets to me.
It's just so... I dunno... people just don't want to know about it (probably includes a lot of you guys too lol, amirite?), but in doing that they're just increasing the effects... bah, this ranting should probably go in the Politics forum.

Atomic Rain 02-17-2006 04:42 PM

Trea:

I'm a huge suppoerter of nuclear power. Certaintly in the UK there's simply no scope whatsoever for renewable sources providing enough energy to begin to reduce carbon emissions and as a man of science I'm happy that nuclear power is a whole lot safer [than the sensationalist press would have (those who do not know enough about it to make their own decisions) believe.]

Please excuse the brackets, I've stopped being able to write sensible sentences and have to resort to maths notation to communicate :(

Diatonic Dissonance™ 02-17-2006 08:13 PM

Sup? House music last night. We won woo.

Aes820 02-17-2006 08:23 PM
Sup? House music last night. We won woo.
Explain in greater detail please.

You mean House music as that dancy techno stuff?

Diatonic Dissonance™ 02-17-2006 08:51 PM

Nope. Our school has houses (I think most do?) each has a color and like they're for the alphabet like if your last name is A to E you're in blue house, etc. The houses are used for in-school sports and stuff to compete.

Basically you get up there and you play three songs..

1) A set song that all houses play
2) A song of your choice that must have a choral part
3) An instrumental

And you get points and stuff.

Our instrumental absolutely killed everyone. We did an orchestral version of "It Don't Mean A Thing". Amazing.

Aes820 02-17-2006 09:00 PM

Oh right. Houses.
Yeah we had those as well.

Congratulations.

10th man down 02-17-2006 09:05 PM

Congrats Gav, sounds fun :)

Diatonic Dissonance™ 02-17-2006 09:09 PM

Thanks dudes. It was amazing fun.

Also Trea when you read this I have that senior ensembles CD here for you. Remember how I told you about that Asian guy playing the Grieg concerto?

Trigger_003 02-17-2006 10:00 PM

Sick, thanks for that Gav :)

Haha I don't think we'd have enough people who play an instrument at our school to be able to do that.
But yeah, we play "It Don't Mean A Thing" in AYB. You're right, it's awesome.

Nice stuff Chris :). Yeah, this doco was based in the UK and it was saying something to that extent. So bad that hardly anyone cares about all this when it's basically going to effect the whole human race.
Oh and my dad's a maths teacher - trust me, I'm used to that type of notation :p.

Time to write the rest of my Fellowship blog that I was s'posed to do a...

Trigger_003 02-19-2006 02:27 AM

Dude, don't you have a girlfriend? lol.

Argh.
My mates invited this guy (who I consider a mate as well) to the open day the other day. Problem is, my parents have said he's off limits (due to some somewhat trivial misunderstandings that just haven't gotten around to being dealt with yet); I hadn't seen him for ~3 months. Anyway, my parents had to find out he'd been there at some time or another seeing as he was considering joining, so I let them know about it. Now they're totally p'd at both this guy AND my mates who invited him. Now they'll probably put sanctions on my being with them as well or something.
Why must it be so hard? :(

Good times again in the house of Trea .

But yeah, that recording was good as Gav. Was that the school's orchestra by any chance?

Amit 02-19-2006 02:31 AM

hey trea you should get aim

Diatonic Dissonance™ 02-19-2006 02:33 AM

Yeah, every single thing you heard was being played by a student at my school.

So ITP my nose is swollen and hurts because my muay-thai friend kneed me.

Also, my arm hurts 'cause he elbowed me - I have a massive lump.

TOBITRON 02-19-2006 10:53 AM

anyone?

hey anyone out there who plays guitar (alot of technical blues rock stuff) and is fluent in power tabs, i really need some assistance in completing my works.

You see i play the bass and have written many riffs and several completed basslines as the basis for entire songs. I am also a lyricist and have written vocal lines for a portion of my works. however i fear in order to create the sound guitar wise that i'm looking for it would take me a few more years to master the craft (seeing as how i know nothing of chords) this is precious time i that would like to avoid taking.

Therefore i seek collaboration. If you or if you know someone who is willing to lend me a hand (they will recieve complete due credit for their input) please please e-mail me here--> captainindigotime@yahoo.com thanks for considering

Atomic Rain 02-19-2006 11:43 AM

midi is an impossible way for blues guitarists to try and write, since in blues there is such an emphasis on improvisation.

I'd be very intrested to hear what you've done regardless, even if i might not be able to add the guitar to it. I'll drop you an email.

TOBITRON 02-19-2006 01:43 PM

aw come on, don't feel like it's impossible. my guitarist is definitly real big on improv which is fine and dandy for a live concert and all, but when writing a song i like to have a skeleton, outline if you will to work from. Even blues songs have musical scores. I think the fact that my lines have structure to them is what keeps him from comming up with something. the lines arent basic blues style they sort of have a blues hint to them that's why i want the guitar to be more bluesy so that it will tie together. (i don't want the songs to morph into a different genre and it's relying on what the guitar plays)]

yeah i ramble

Trigger_003 02-19-2006 02:48 PM

Yeah I sure do (need aim).
I also need msn back.

What's happenin', all?
