I jsut watched The Wall for the first time...wow, that movie is amazing...I didn't understand most of the subtle symbolism, but that movie is just....epic and stunning.

lunch998 02-02-2005 06:38 PM
The chords for that part just flow together so smoothly.

"But is was only a fant-a-sy"
"The wall was too high, as you can see"
"No matter how hard he tried he could not break free"
"And the worms ate into his brain"

Brilliant.
God even reading those lyrics gives me goosebumps. What a phenomenal part of a song.

baker_sk8r 02-02-2005 06:39 PM
Hmm...well where to start...Floyd is amazing. The part in Comfortable Numb that goes "Is there anybody in there?" was kinda eerie the first time I heard the song.
yea dude, that part really freakd me out 2, itll give yah chillz

pigonthewing82 02-02-2005 09:35 PM

you know i think that pink floyd worked together better musically in the early days. i mean in there later days they did things like comfertably numb, but the bass and guitar dominate the song, unlike songs like echoes

peawea601 02-02-2005 10:42 PM

Pink Floyd, Pink Floyd, Pink Floyd

pink floyd is an awesome band,
most people dont like them because of their weird unique sound
(but thats what makes them great)
David Gillmore is an increadible guitarist, comftorbly numb is one of my favorite solos.
I think some songs are better live, but most are not (im not really a big fan of the live versions unless theres an extra solo or two)
As for their eeriest lyrics i think it would be wish you were here, goodbye cruel world, dark side of the moon or hey you.
what about: dark side of the moon ,mother, have a cigar or shine on you crazy diamond- what do yall think of those?

Riva 02-02-2005 10:58 PM

Sent to Aaron and Ethan. Magicbus, I will upload them tonight.

Kingofdudes 02-02-2005 10:59 PM

Ill send out 3 David Gilmour solo tracks tomorrow after shcool

well pink floyd all together was good live i think, i meant he solo live cds have their gems, but the wall live, or ummagumma are great, if your looking for your extra solo or two then ummagumma is the live cd for you

Riva 02-03-2005 05:43 AM

I only had the tape version of Ummagumma, until my bastardised tape player ate it.

I wish I still had it, it is much better executed than the CD version.

Dag. Thanks a lot. They were good. Gilmour, I know you're sending me those solo songs. Because if you weren't, I'd have to hurt you.

pigonthewing82 02-03-2005 08:11 PM

i was wondering, do you think the guy on roger waters cd "in the flesh live" on guitar did a good job?, i think he did, not better then gilmour, but still a good replacment, what do you think

Kingofdudes 02-03-2005 09:28 PM

Ill send those songs tomorrow guys, I didnt expect to go into work today, and I am way too tired to do it.

pigonthewing82 02-03-2005 10:31 PM

what pink floyd cd do you think has the best opener. I think meddle has it, with one of these days

Blue Collar Man 02-03-2005 10:38 PM
what pink floyd cd do you think has the best opener. I think meddle has it, with one of these days
Actully I really think every one of thier albums has the best opener if you think about it.

Dark Side of the Moon.

I don't know, it's just so relaxing, it's perfect for starting up the mood of the album.

Shazzam 02-04-2005 02:19 PM

The Wall does

lunch998 02-04-2005 02:34 PM

I'd agree with Meddle. Or Obscured By Clouds.

funk_rock_jazz_drummer 02-04-2005 03:20 PM

Wish you were here. I love the soothing, calm intro to Shine on you crazy diamond.

DeusExMachina 02-04-2005 06:06 PM

Wish You Were Here has the best opening, in my opinion. It's just an amazing CD in general.

magicbus 02-04-2005 06:08 PM

I love how the entire Wish You Were Here album has the soothing feel to it, but I think the best opener is One Of These Days.

Doop 02-04-2005 06:15 PM

Meddle.

yea wish you were here runs together better then almost any cd

totally agree :thumb:

DeusExMachina 02-04-2005 09:54 PM

Wish You Were Here is just awesome like that.

It's supposed to, considering it's about how they all miss Syd Barrett

And it is an attack on the Music Industry.
And it is an attack on the Music Industry.
yea, thats one of the things that makes it one of my favorite cds, have a cigar is such a good song to listen to after you see one of your favorite songs being used to sell a product

Distant Echoes 02-05-2005 10:59 AM

Have a cigar is great, but its my least favorite songs on the album - and still manages to be one of my favorite floyd songs ever.

Im having seconds thoughts about DSOTM being my favorite next to WYWH now, i just think WYWH has more significance and meaning.

and whats the deal with DSOTM about to lose in the poll to two metal albums?! Its only 2 votes away, we need more votes for dsotm asap...

but everybody probably already voted, so well see what happens

pigonthewing82 02-05-2005 11:13 AM

to be honest i dont like dark side of the moon that much, i mean compared to other bands cds its amazing, but compared to other pink floyd cds i dont think its even close to their strongest lyric wise and instrumentally
