La Revolucion 07-27-2007 07:51 AM

Sunset Rubdown - Random Spirit Lover
The Go Team - Proof Of Youth

Both are pretty good. Sunset Rubdown is a grower, I think.

Actually really enjoying the new album by The Cribs. I've always avoided them because of their awful name, but this new album is tight.

Lol exactly like me then. What do they sound like?

AlienEater 07-27-2007 09:43 AM

wait is that the band that lee ronaldo guested or am i making that up entirely

Kyle 07-27-2007 10:00 AM

They're not brilliant or anything, but it's some solid indie-rock. I was curious because they're on Wichita and that's normally a pretty decent label.

Yeah Lee Ronaldo has a guest spot on the new album, I believe.

Zebra 07-27-2007 10:02 AM

Frank Zappa - Freak Out!

4/5

Thanks 07-27-2007 10:16 AM

I played "Los Angeles" on Guitar Hero the other day. That was weird.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-27-2007 10:25 AM
Flaming Lips - At War with the Mystics

This is the first time I've listened to this since the first couple of days that it came out. Lets just say that it hasn't gotten any better.
yeah it's pretty average.

anyway, i am digging Siamese Dream atm. It's been a while since I listened to this one.

Sweet, I'll check them out.

i've been playin atdi's in/casino/out. i think its my favorite. I like the live sound.

well actually i've been playing all of their albums.

I think its too bad that they didn't put much effort into acrobatic tenement. Some of their best songs were on that album, but I wish they'd have better recorded them a bit better.

acrobatic tenement w/ roc production would have been amazing. although that might be sort of an oxymoron kind of thing.
I played "Los Angeles" on Guitar Hero the other day. That was weird.
How'd you do that? I didn't think it was on guitar hero.

Thanks 07-27-2007 12:03 PM

My friend has Guitar Hero 80's Edition. I played some Dead Kennedys, too.

margin0walker 07-27-2007 01:10 PM

nice.
i tried to play institutionalized on guitar hero but the shredding gets me every time.

i know what you're saying, but i kinda like the rawer sound of acrobatic tenement. the songs are so simple yet good that any upgrade to the production might expose their flaws. the only thing i would fix is the bass tone (or just replace Omar with Paul sooner and put him back on guitar where he belongs)

Zmev 07-27-2007 02:33 PM

Half the songs on 80's are lame, but then there are Dead Kennedyd and X.

Camper Van Beethoven - Telephone Free Landslide Victory
Mr. T Experience - Love Is Dead

Glitterati 07-27-2007 04:13 PM

Architecture In Helsinki - Fingers Crossed

Ehhh...alright. Like A Call is the only track that really sticks out to me.

Jay-Z - The Black Album

Thanks 07-27-2007 05:36 PM

I got a cool record of very old polyphon music box melodies.

Glitterati 07-27-2007 05:55 PM

Henry Rollins - Talk Is Cheap, Vol. 1 & 2

mozartv 07-27-2007 06:04 PM

Pax Cecilia - Blessed Are the Bonds

Just got this in the mail(it was free!). It's pretty cool.

mozartv 07-27-2007 06:50 PM

yeah anyone who thinks AT would sound better with clean production has no clue about production

YDload 07-27-2007 07:29 PM

nobody wants to hear what Cedric was yelling on that album because the lyrics are complete impromptu nonsense, even by ATDI standards. best to just appreciate it as it is.

I didn't know there was an 80's edition. That'd be cool to play some X.

Spoon - Girls Can Tell

Anxious 07-27-2007 09:34 PM

The Fall- Perverted by Language

This is probably my favorite album before Brix took more control over their sound.

asdf 07-28-2007 12:23 AM

Currently I am trying to stop listening to so much Zappa after him becoming my #1 artist overall on last.fm, as well as after the Zappa Plays Zappa show (which was really fucking great)

sexymuffin 07-28-2007 12:28 AM

last.fm really limits fanboyism tbh

because like you don't want everyone to know you suck zappa's dick

Glitterati 07-28-2007 12:45 AM

Peter Murphy - Deep

If any of you like Nick Cave or Scott Walker you need to hear Peter Murphy.

I actually get kind of upset when Zappa LOSES the top spot.

Boilermaker 07-28-2007 09:15 AM

The Marked Men - Fix My Brain

And matt?, If you mean the Agnostic Front show, I'm not sure if I'm going or not. I'd need a ride, and I don't really like AF, but I'm sure it would be a fun show to go to with some friends.

sexymuffin 07-28-2007 10:52 AM
I actually get kind of upset when Zappa LOSES the top spot.
well last.fm can also serve to encourage fanboyism iaf
