Chris, I've seen your scrob. You must be a Radiohead fanboy. :amaze:
Oh, and if that is the defining feature of a fanboy, then I am not a fanboy. Whoo! |
I am enthusiastic about the band, but I don't demand that everyone likes them.
|
That means you're just an avid fan.
|
Im always late to get into the "albums that *everyone on mx loves" First "Art of Life", Now "()". I've been getting into a lot of new bands lately. Luckely I will have my own computer in a week to store all the MP3's on.
*almost |
You should check out Pink Floyd, they are pretty hot right now.
|
Yes you do!
Haha, my name is now Enjoys Anal? since when...
Since last night. :shifty again:
Yep.
What a rediculously long post, man.
Is it possible to be a fanboy of several bands? Like, I'm a huge fan of a bunch of bands, but I'm not sure if I can be...
That's totally cool, dude, your choice. It's not like your a whore or anything for really likeing a whole bunch of different bands instead of one. Whore. |
Trevor, how's your band doing?
|
Civil War Talk: Blah blah blah My country never had a war.
Cain's childhood: I friggin' loved dinosaurs as well, man! Anyways, my girlfriend took some photos of me in B&W, for a local competition at the fair. She pretty much wins every year, but she said that she might not this year because she rushed the pics. I think she's just being polite and that my ugly face is ruining them. :-/ Anyways, I'll upload them for you.
Morning. Good luck with the going out. I'm listening to an audio recording of the haka.
Kumate Kumate Hah Hah! ----------------------- In other news, I have a day of rest before I am off to work tonight, and a first aid course all weekend. |
Argh, I am seriously bored. Being on an island is cool, but not for this long.
|
Which island are you on?
|
Marthas Vineyard, off the coast of Massachusetts. So many stuck up rich people here. I want to be back in DC going to shows.
|
I like that island; been there many times. Tasted any wine since you've been there?
|
Kumate Kumate Hah Hah!
I've not listened to it it ages, but when I do (like this morning) it's generally a fair few times over. It's impressive just for their sheer volume, if for no other reason (though there are in fact other reasons). Solomon Burke - None Of Us Are Free |

Nope. I did drink some Brandy. Where are you from? |
Nope. I did drink some Brandy.

Solomon Burke - None Of Us Are Free
It's a war chant. They have many different hakas, and it is a common form of verse used by most polynesian tribes. Coolest thing ever: When Samoa plays the All Blacks. Two simultaneous hakas! I knew the meaning once... It's like: cloud burn, fire rain, we will win! Have you seen them doing it? It's very impressive. |
Bump for you guys.
You look like you should be in film noir.
Kumate Kumate Hah Hah!
I'm a little lost. What song are you referring to? |
I think Numa Numa... God, why did the ghetto culture have to find out about it? It's so annoying now, it's been around for ages...
|
Trevor, how's your band doing?
We're doing pretty good, thanks for asking... got three songs down, working on more riffs.... Not QUITE ready to play shows, but can't wait for that... but we're defenitely going to play out of state a lot (Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana), since there's not a lot of local venues here for metal bands. My drummer and I wrote a pretty badass riff that reminds me of the song "Black Sabbath" and recorded it onto my laptop with Soundrecorder ( :p ), I could upload that for y'all if you like...might take a while with this dial-up. You know how this computer is...constantly screwing me over :( . Haha, I looked at my usertitle and thought I was banned. ZING! |

Yeah, I know. I think I pointed that out a couple of posts after the post you quoted :) I've heard people argue that the All Blacks (and other, less well-known, teams) should be banned from performing their haka before a game, because as a war chant it's essentially them promising to kill the opposing team. Of course, these people should be burned at the stake, for attempting to make the game criminally less interesting.
I knew the meaning once... It's like: cloud burn, fire rain, we will win!
I'll admit I spent quite a lot of today attempting to look up lyrics and meanings for it.
Have you seen them doing it? It's very impressive.
Not actually in person, no.
I'm a little lost. What song are you referring to?
The haka..the thing the All Blacks perform before a game. If you're still lost, I can upload my audio file of it. Tis only lil'. |
Us Aussies are honour bound to laugh at it, but it is a great start to the game. And besides, we sing Waltzing Matilda, which is really a story of murder and theft, and a small bit of animal cruelty. So, I guess it balances out. Fiji has the best haka, just for their crazy theatrics. |

I'm uploading two videos. One of the complete Haka, though I apologise for some bad audio, and one with Tonga's siprotao and the Kiwi haka going simulateously.

Awesome. I'll look forward to downloading those tomorrow :) Despite the lack of response from Steerpike (or anyone), I started uploading the audio file I have as I made the offer, just in case the answer was a yes. So rather than let it go to waste; http://s23.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0OWSZ3WRZRWWV3U99OHI7VBN1R It's only little. (0.98MB or something). Hopefully it actually is what it claimed to be all those years ago. |
Well I'm back from my first day at Subway and it's great to work there. It's really laid back because not too many people come in there, but it's still not boring. Plus the people are fun too.

Exactly why that place is cool aside from their food. Good to hear the first day was good! |
Pardon my ignorance, but before I dowload the videos, who are the All Blacks?
