Fender American Strat. Close to $880, but I can get it a hundred bucks cheaper through my music place.
My friend has one, I think it's a great guitar. Not that I know anything about guitars.

magicbus 01-26-2005 07:39 PM

Yea its built really good, and it plays like a dream. Plus with the single pups, I can get the tone I'm looking for. My guitar right now has humbuckers, and they suck.

Distant Echoes 01-26-2005 07:40 PM

I cant stand strats...they have such horrible feel and sound for playing with All The Time. If i thought i might need it for a few songs, i wouldnt hesitate, but it would never be the relic of any of my guitars.

BludgeonySteve 01-26-2005 07:41 PM

I have an American Strat HSS. It's my dream guitar and it only cost $1100. That's a pretty good price for a dream guitar.

clown_phobia 01-26-2005 07:42 PM

I love the Les Paul tone. Right now I play a strat copy.

Johnny B. Good 01-26-2005 07:43 PM

Man I need a new guitar.

But that's where the tone is! (echoes, soycd, etc!)

join the club. I cant stand feedback or that loose buzzing sound from the wire to the guitar...that a feature of cheapness.

Im thinkin of the SG, cause i didnt know they were only $650 bucks till a few months ago, and i heard their much easier to access to bottom frets, and lighter then a les paul.

and how many frets does an SG have? im really lookin for 23, but ill be glad to just have the guitar

I also need a new amp. Mine died and I've been using my bass amp, it makes the guitar sound even worse than it already does :upset:

lunch998 01-26-2005 07:51 PM

Drums>Guitar.

I wouldve said 'though gilmour can really put that thing into effect in his songs', but i didnt want to get back on the topic of Floyd. Im already actively posting the the 'official' thread now, but yeah, it sounds better slowhand rather then sloppy hendrix style.

but i couldnt imagine a band that already uses them without one-or the infamous telecaster

If you're musically retarded.

Same here, man. I am using a Yamaha Pacifica right now, and it leaves a lot to be desired. I am looking at some strats for my next guitar.

Distant Echoes 01-26-2005 07:53 PM

To lunch
playing drums defintaly beats the hell out of guitar, but id rather listen to a guitar solo then a drum solo...sorry bud, but as a drummer and guitarist myself, playing drums defintaly kicks guitars ***, its easier, louder, more intense, and quite frankly, you guitarist would be nowere without us.

I just totally complimented and bashed myself right there...

Shutup and go back to your bass-player corner of the stage.

What do you call a guy that hangs around with musicians?

 I wont start these lame jokes, nevermind.

Yea that was interesting how you contradicted yourself a few times, but I agree with what you said.

What's the matter with bass?

Nothing at all, as a drummer I love nothing more than a good bassist. I was just lashing back because JPJ called drummers(me) musically retarded.

Guitar adds more to the song than drums.

Distant Echoes 01-26-2005 07:56 PM

Id learn bass in a second if i had one, because i want to end the whole idea of the bass always following the guitarist. I think bassist should be the ones putting the music scale into effect and doing something more than the guitarist's notes.

If thats what every bassist did, anybody could be one.

Fine, I like it better there anyway. I don't have to deal with the ego-maniac guitarists and I'm a safe distance from the drummer, the poorest excuse for a musician, not to mention they're generally very stupid.

Distant Echoes 01-26-2005 07:58 PM

I dont know...would i rather heard bassist and drummer, guitarist and drummer, or bassist and guitarist...thats a tough question

what do u guys think

magicbus 01-26-2005 07:58 PM

I will learn bass eventually. But first, harmonica and piano.

Guitarist and drummer. No offense to bassists.

Johnny B. Good 01-26-2005 07:58 PM

Guitar & drummer

Ha, I already know how to play bass, as well as guitar, flute, cello, viola, and somewhat piano

Bassist and drummer could lay down some sick grooves.

I fail to see how drummers are the "poorest excuse for a musician".
If you're musically retarded.
Dude im a guitar player, but u know the drums are just as importent. Drummers get a lot less credit then they desrve. Alex Van Halen is just as good as Eddie Van Halen is a guitarist, but he doesnt get as much credit as he deserves.

Johnny B. Good 01-26-2005 08:03 PM

Alex Van Halen isn't that great of a drummer, but does have his moments
