Matt? 05-27-2007 08:20 AM

i think movie/ pizza parties with bonfires and a bunch of kids you kind of knew but not that well cause they're older, but later become better friends with are the best

cobert 05-27-2007 09:01 PM

Playing RISK and ordering pizza with your bros followed by a sick jam session is the best.

Somebody make a poll for this.

The Great Decay 05-27-2007 09:05 PM

Bonfires trump Risk, and I enjoy a good game of Risk.

bottlerocket 05-27-2007 09:05 PM

If you threw smoking a few bowls in there, I'd say yeah, that's pretty ill.

A bold statement.

Bonfires are okay I guess.

The Great Decay 05-27-2007 09:33 PM

Especially in the summer. Nothing beats a bonfire, some brews, and your crew.
That or we stop putting so much faith in the Chinese government investing in our economy.
very little foreign direct investment comes from china. what china does do is buy a large number of dollar-denominated securities. but we aren't putting any faith in them. they do this out of their own self-interest. per the law of supply and demand, in order to maintain their artificially low currency peg, they need to sell yuan and buy dollars on foreign exchange markets. they do this by buying treasury bills with yuan. they then hold these as a hedge against economic instability. this policy also has the effect of partially financing the US current account deficit with china, which china needs to maintain in order to continue its export-driven growth. kind of like extending us credit to buy chinese goods on. so we aren't putting any faith in china's goodwill.

in fact, this isn't in our long-term best interest. china's policy is masking the harmful affects of the trade deficit. as a result, americans aren't altering their consumption based on a true analysis of the costs. fortunately though, china's policy is loosing the ability to maintain the strength of the dollar. a weaker dollar does involve a short-term economic correction, but that is necessary, as the current situation can't be sustained indefinitely.

srt is a really chill and intelligent guy, though. Reading his posts makes me feel so dumb, hah. I've always felt like I had a pretty good grasp on world politics and what was really going on but this dude's like a CNN Special correspondent.

And everyone knows A New Set of Lungs EP is Hot Cross' best work to date. Yep. I said it.

Luxor 05-28-2007 10:48 PM

Copy / paste from pop-punk. Its rough keeping up with 2 community threads, at least they both movie kind of slow.

So much info:

First, a few days ago, some lady rented a car from a place pretty close to where I live, and she reached under the seat to adjust it, and found all kinds of paperwork in arabic writing with the names of world leaders, and a note saying something along the lines of 'I am going to be satans worst nightmare in the tri-state area, please pray for me'.

Next, around where that car rental place was, either Donny or Mark Wahlberg is shooting a movie. My friend and I were discussing this at breakfast in school, and we told somebody that just walked past that Marky Mark was in the building for an assembly on having a safe summer. We told everyone we knew, and towards the end of the day, we had all kinds of people (including teachers) believing it, like there were people coming to me and asking me what I knew about it. It was awesome, me and my friend got everyone with it.

Finally, in my physics class, being the end of the year, we get some fun projects to do. Just for giggles, we made some pop bottle rockets that were shot off using an air compressor. We went out in the football field to shoot them, and when class was almost over, the cord the teacher was pulling to release the rockets got stuck and the launcher base thing just slid towards him, then had a delayed shot into his face. It was somewhere around 90 pounds of pressure from about 5 feet away, with a cone attached to the head. Tore part of his nostril, cut his cheek, made all kinds of bruises on his nose and lips and cheek, completely broke his glasses (the class ended up looking for the lenses) and he said he was having trouble seeing out of his left eye, and the entire left side of his face was numb. Blood was like dripping out of his face.

What an eventful 2 day span.

Whoa. Mad stuff.

Wow 06-01-2007 01:43 PM

Yeah man. When I first started buying those records I was like "Yes."

By the end I was like "My god I'm retarded. Oh well."

By the way, does anyone have the CORRECT version of "The Graduate etc" by Love Like Electrocution? Every time I download it, it's not the actual song. The real one has an insanely fast and intense ending with the vocalist screaming "fuck the guests" over and over.
