Somehow I got a really good tone for that song I'm recording. So far only Jake and Kage have listened to it as far as I know.
Was playing: Svefn-g-englar, Sigur Ros NP: Delirium Cordia, Fantomas /kills thread Kage do you like Dillenger Escape Plan? /walks out on a limb |
Is Sigur Ros hard to get into? I see that () album at best Buy all the time and I'm tempted to buy it.
You should. Although I believe Ágætis byrjun is probably a better album to start with. Either of it, ( ) or Takk would be great to start with. Kage, I don't have any other details on the song, except it seems short for a Godspeed song (only 6:21), so I think I'll just go on enjoying an unknown song. |

I know, I'm the one that got you into them I believe. It was either them or Mike Patton I can't remember which.
|
I'm beginning to think that having a good tone is overrated. Some idiots are like "I know my playing is crap, but check out my wicked tone!"
Heh, funny, I'm almost the opposite, I'm beginning to realise how much more important tone is than you'd think Arsis is kicking my ass with awesome at the moment.. I can't believe I disliked them the first time I listened to them |

It was both really. Thanks again :p |

Kage do you like Dillenger Escape Plan? /walks out on a limb
Not particularly. I don't generally like chaotic music, even though I realize there is a lot of method to their chaos. |

I'm completely opposite. I can't get enough of it, especially in the last few months. |

I have a song that you might like if you listen to it all the way through. It's not all chaotic, Dillinger Escape Plan put a bit of ambience in some of their songs and they're quite good at that as well. There's quite a bit of substance, especially on the EP with Mike Patton. Are you up for it? Oh and no problem Brian. Do you by any chance have any Dark Tranquility? |
Yeah, definately. It's not that I don't like them, really...it's just that I can't really listen to it very much. But I'll try anything out.

Ive got a bone to pick with him about last nights scam.....:angerrrrrrr: |
I don't think they are, but if I were you I wouldn't get that one as an introductory album. Takk and Agaetis Bryjun are both as good anyway in my opinion, and they're also far more digestible. Takk is actually one of my albums of the year.
Ack! I knew I left something off my list for the Best Albums of 2005 thread. Wow, I have a full inbox of uploaded songs from MX people. Should be fun to sort through all this stuff. :) |

You don't mess with mods. |
Predict: Do you think the new Tool album will live up to the hype that most of their fans have built up for it?
Honestly, I'm not expecting it to be groundbreaking, but hopefully it will be a step up from Lateralus. |
A step up from Lateralus would be ground breaking. :)
|
It damn well better.
A step up from Lateralus would be ground breaking. :)
Agreed. |
Predict: Do you think the new Tool album will live up to the hype that most of their fans have built up for it?
Honestly, I'm not expecting it to be groundbreaking, but hopefully it will be a step up from Lateralus.
I do think it'll live up to the hype, so long as people aren't expecting a triple cd "Tool does their version of The Wall" that totals out to 235 minutes long. I think it'll be a great cd, whenever it comes out. :thumb: |
I have no doubts that it'll live up to expectations. Hype and expectations are different, though. I'm not getting caught up in any hype over it, but I am expecting great things.

The other DL failed, but I'll try again in a second. Once those DEP files are up, could someone email me the link? Ken, something is coming out of January 3rd, but we know not what it will contain. |
You know what band has really stupid fans? Adema. Nobody talks about it because Adema is neither popular (like Linkin Park or pop-punk bands) or particularly talented (like Metallica or Tool), but they have among the worst fanboys you can think of. Not as bad as Juggalos of course, but really bad in spelling and reasoning.

Tool have some pretty lame fans.
/contributes to pile of Tool loving shitheads Link to stupid Adema comments, please. Kage- Mezzanine thoughts? |
