I've been reading The Limits To Capital by David Harvey recently. It clarifies on all of the parts of Capital that people (including bourgeoisie economists) seem to misunderstand and then greatly expands on Marx's crisis theory. It reminds me now why I love Marx.

These town hall "debates" are absolutely ****ing ridiculous. People are so absurdly misinformed about what the President is trying to do.

I think there is a general distrust towards him because he is black, but people don't want to admit it. They pretend to hate his policies and whatnot, but really, it's just because he's black.

Right. A ton of people keep talking about how "our freedoms are being taken away" but they don't actually have any instance to point to, they just feel threatened.

All of those people that think he was born in Kenya might have brain damage. Seriously.

Speaking of racism, some lady at work tonight told me she doesn't like how all of the Payless shoe stores closed, and now when she goes to where the local store was all she sees are "black stores." I just said "oh" and walked away. What the **** makes these people think that this is something acceptable to say to a complete stranger? At least once a week I get in a situation like that.

She probably felt safe saying it to you seeing as you're white, not to say it wasn't a stupid thing to say.

That's definitely why. I guess I understand why she felt comfortable, but not why she thought it was okay to feel comfortable. If that makes sense.

one time i was filling out a job application in the same room as this older middle aged guy and he kept talking about obama and how he ****ed up the whole government and was trading whites for minorities and fags. i was so ****ing uncomfortable, like some people must live in a really insular little world where they think that that type of speech is appropriate conversation material with a stranger.
