I know every note in the song. But I can't seem to stay in time
with it and I'm also a drummer..how the hell does that work?

metalmilitia101 10-05-2005 11:26 PM
I never found it that hard. Well maybe its because I played it like 300 times in a row until I got it perfect. :p
yeah its extremely easy.

oh my god i just listened to the limp bizkit version of sanitarium

please shoot i feel like ive had my brain put through a mincer.

alas! decks and 'ring the alarms' in one of my favourite songs. bad news guys

fatbandit 10-06-2005 02:07 AM

I like the Limp Bizkit version. They were (for me) the best at the Icon concert.

They took the song and made it their own. But I know other people would prefer straight covers, so... Meh.

Isn't subjectiveness wonderful :)

:smash:

Enlighten Me 10-06-2005 02:49 AM

Well Load,Reload and St.Anger kinda suck compared to the old stuff.. St.Anger doesn't have any solos, but it has nice riffs, it's not bad.
Load&Reload... Meeeeeh well, unforgiven2,hero of the day, until it sleeps...

GOD, WHAT HAPPENED TO THOSE CD's WHERE I COULD LISTEN WITHOUT SKIPPING TRACKS!?

I would prefer that they keep standard tuning for their new album :|

Enlighten Me 10-06-2005 03:20 AM

Anyway way I can hear or see MTV Icon (Metallica)?

Jev 10-06-2005 03:23 AM

You can try searching for it on a P2P.

Britton 10-06-2005 11:37 AM

Limp Bizkits last album is the only album I have thrown in the trash.
I think they'll do better with wes back in the band.

I can't imagine them doing Tallica covers. Where can I find it?

one of their best?

master of puppets and ride the lightning not ringing any bells?
suppose it is your opinion...

Aberrationbass 10-06-2005 02:32 PM

i really want to see the MTV icon i've only seen clips on SKOM
as for the covers i heard the Limp Bizkit one was ok but the scratch dj instead of the guitar solo was to be avoided
i've heard KoRns cover of one which wasn't to bad but still abit ****
but what people who have seen it have said to me is that the Avril Lavigne version of Fuel was the best cover of the night cos her session musicians got all the parts perfect note for note.......

Just quote the first page! Have no idea what's going on, goodwork.
General opinion in this thread is that St. Anger isn't a bad record (We too, have had the time to listen to it, and let it grow on us  ).

My final thought: Metallica are very over-rated, and yes I am a HUGE Metallica fan....

Metallica are one of my favourite bands, but I still feel they are massively over-rated.

EDIT: Ok maybe massively was a bit strong, but they are over-rated.

Limp Bizkit's sanitarium cover was pretty bad. NO solos, nothing. Plus fred durst totally changes the vocals, he wasn't even following the rhythm at all. Like when james sings, he stops after a line for a while, and durst just kept going like the whole song is a big line.

I heard avril's version of chop suey, and it sucked pretty badly. Don't know about fuel though.

Jev 10-06-2005 03:30 PM
Apparently she wasn't a big 'Tallica fan at all and Fuel was the first song she had heard, quite possibly the only one too. The guitarist couldn't handle the solos so they were cut out. I think she just did it in an attempt to fit in.

Joe 10-06-2005 03:41 PM

It was awful. I couldn't stand to listen to it, even though James got quite a kick out of it

So I'm at school still waiting for SAT Prep to start in an hour and I'm logged on to my account and we only get like 20MB per person so I just put some Metallica on here and deleted all my school work. I don't have any of the old Metallica on here because it was on my little USB thing so I've got...Fuel, King Nothing, Mama Said, and Fade to Black (it was already on here from past years) and some other random songs (Crazy Train, Back in Black, B.Y.O.B).

blue3 10-06-2005 03:43 PM

I haven't heard the Chop Suey cover, and I don't want to. I've heard the Fuel cover though, I hated it.

I think hes practically deaf now, he was probably just sitting there thinking "Yeah, I cant hear it but still Ill pretend to like it!"

Joe 10-06-2005 03:54 PM
I think hes practically deaf now, he was probably just sitting there thinking "Yeah, I cant hear it but still Ill pretend to like it!"
I would love 20 years of rocking but I think I would hate the 30+years after that of basically being deaf... (not that we have any real proof he is, I'd say lars is more deaf.)

scenesfromatheater 10-06-2005 03:56 PM

haha...korns cover of One was good apart from they couldn't handle the solos so they had to stop playing just before it was supposed to come in.

Jev 10-06-2005 03:56 PM

He said he has tinnitus (non-stop ringing in the ears) and one of the advantages is that he can't hear Lars' drumming anymore.

Jev 10-06-2005 03:57 PM
haha...korns cover of One was good apart from they couldn't handle the solos so they had to stop playing just before it was supposed to come in.
No, they weren't allowed to do it full length. MTV told them it was too long. Still I hate that crunchy bass ll the way through, totally ruins it.

Joe 10-06-2005 03:57 PM
He said he has tinnitus (non-stop ringing in the ears) and one of the advantages is that he can't hear Lars' drumming anymore.
Oh really, never heard that. That's an advantage, he's gone way down hill. At least if kirk solos slowly it sounds good or etc

NP: Fuel

scenesfromatheater 10-06-2005 03:58 PM

haha...good old james. lars reminds me of my bands drummer...a loser.

Joe 10-06-2005 04:14 PM
haha...good old james. lars reminds me of my bands drummer...a loser.
Yea, like my old drummer. I was going to start a band with him again but then I went to jam with him and I forgot how bad he was.

WP- Still fuel, I don't have much music on here. I was just watching videos on Yahoo Launch

NP - Fade to Black (Live Sh*t disc 2) :D :D :D

Britton 10-06-2005 04:15 PM

Lars isn't a loser.

God I need to hear all these covers. I knew that avril
did one but I was unaware that limp and korn did.

that's funny about James

metalmilitia101 10-06-2005 05:03 PM
haha...good old james. lars reminds me of my bands drummer...a loser.
although lars has had his moments, he is most definately not a loser. and definately not on the drums either. and lol if he says he isnt hard of hearing now he's lying - he's gotta be unless he had some crazy earplugs while playing a million shows which he didn't

Britton 10-06-2005 05:06 PM

I have this concert and some one is yelling to james (who isnt at a Tallica concert)
and james says something to the effect of "What's that bro? I can't hear you I'm deaf"

James is my hero

He makes millions a year, he is in the most porwerfull metal band[talking mainstream( :upset: )], he got late with freaking hot chicks. I don't think he's a loser, maybe a untalented drummer but not a loser.

Nah, he's a loser.
He makes millions a year
So did Michael Jackson, and look at him.
he is in the most porwerfull metal band[talking mainstream( :upset: )]
Not to mention that he is the only person in the band that has such a bad reputation.
he got late with freaking hot chicks
Yep, he's a loser! :thumb:

he had a fuckload of talent back in the day, but yeah these days he's getting rusty, and it makes me tear up. he's got a bad attitude sometimes, and is a control freak sometimes, but you gotta think of what he's had to deal with, and i would definately be tired of being in the same band for over 20 years, no matter how good they are.

1.First,Michael Jackson is a freak, you can't compare him, and even that doesn't make him a loser(just weird).
2.But without him there will be no Metallica or Beatallica.
3.Ok you got me there.

Musically he pretty much suck, but he's the only person with brains in the band(at least for making great tours and earning big money).

Britton 10-06-2005 09:16 PM
