I don't understand why watching golf is at all enjoyable.
Hockey is good yes. It's the only sport I pay attention to, which isn't a lot. Especially since the Leafs suck so much.
I hardly pay attention anymore either. I watch when it's World Championships and such, but almost nothing besides that.
I played basketball one year in middle school, only sports I do are Swimming and Track und Field.
The only sport I do nowadays is running, but I've been meaning to start with triathlon, if someday I can afford a bike and if I can learn to front crawl.

Daven 07-15-2008 06:39 PM

whats the name of that guy who does the badass logos for free? christoph something or other. more importantly, whats his email address?

Shattered_Future 07-15-2008 09:54 PM

Wanted was a fairly good movie. The pacing is a little weird for some parts, but the choreography for the fight scenes is quite different than normal. It's pretty cool.

Glitterati 07-15-2008 10:19 PM

How do I make it show what I'm digging in my post?

Nepenthe 07-15-2008 10:23 PM

knuckleduster 07-15-2008 10:29 PM

Tyler 07-16-2008 01:20 AM

this new into eternity is hilarious

McP3000 07-16-2008 01:31 AM

im guessing its really bad?

Tyler 07-16-2008 01:33 AM

No it's solid but there are all these absolutely ridiculous wails on it. The first [real] track starts with like 45 seconds of Halford-esque shrieking.

McP3000 07-16-2008 01:36 AM

Wait, singing not harsh vocals?

Tyler 07-16-2008 01:37 AM

They always had cleans. Stu does pretty much everything, it shifts between growls, cleans, shrieks, screams and falsetto wails.

McP3000 07-16-2008 01:39 AM

haha, i know that but halford-esque could mean clean or shrieks

im looking forward to The Incurable Tragedy even if i might be the only one.

Tyler 07-16-2008 01:44 AM

I was looking forward to it too. I was actually planning on getting in touch with their management for an advanced copy but then I noticed it leaked so why bother.

There are clean and harsh shrieks. The lyrical concept of this album is suffocatingly depressing though. It's based on Tim Roth's experiences with cancer; two of his best friend (who were brothers) died from it within a week of each other, then that same year his dad died from it about a week before Christmas. So this album is very geared around people suffering from a terminal illness. There's even three "Incurable Tragedy" tracks, one for every person he knew who succumbed to it, and a track called "One Funeral Hymn for the Three". Ouch.

McP3000 07-16-2008 01:46 AM

wow

even though thats depressing, it makes me want it more.

edit: coke, what subgenre would you put into eternity under?

Tyler 07-16-2008 01:48 AM

I dont know, really.

I used to say they were somewhere in between melodic death and progressive metal even though they aren't really either. I'll just say metal at this point, there's too much going on to pinpoint it.

CreatingIllusions 07-16-2008 01:52 AM

How much of an improvement would you say it is from The Scattering of Ashes?

Tyler 07-16-2008 01:54 AM

It's more refined, but I wouldn't call it better. Stu sound more at home and less produced. The album is really short though, you're going to feel ripped off because it's over before it needs to be. The lyrics are an improvement from what I can make out; they're still depressing but they're less "drowning in a sea of black depression slit slit" oriented.

The drums sound better but Steve Austin's drumming fit better than this guys. The "shred" is a lot less abrasive on this and the bass is finally audible.

Like I said, it doesn't feel like an improvement, just a natural continuation. I didnt notice as many mondo-harmonies on my first run through.

best drummer ever

Tyler 07-16-2008 02:00 AM

I really dont get the fascination with those faggy hideous affliction shirts everyone wears.

Also, remember when Steve Austin was with Ted DiBiase? That was such a lame character.

CreatingIllusions 07-16-2008 02:01 AM

Ah. I probably should have asked if it has more solid songs or replay value than TSoA; I always find myself skipping through most of the last half of the album, or just going back to Buried in Oblivion.

Good to hear the drums sound better. Not that it really has anything to do with their overall sound, but it always sounded like the drums were going off-tempo (not sure if that's the term I'm looking for) in 'Out.' Maybe it's just me.
