Hey everybody. First day back in jolly old Britain, and i couldn't be happier. Today im buying loads of mainstream albums including ones by :

Limp Bizkit
Linkin Park
P.O.D
RHCP

Im just buying back all the albums i sold when i discovered Maiden.
Hey Joe. Enjoy your holiday?

And which RHCP albums you getting? I think Imight go CD shopping today as well.

Arucard 08-19-2005 04:22 AM

The holiday was alright, but im glad to be back.

And im re-buying Blood Sugar, One Hot Minute and maybe Mothers Milk.

munky_magik 08-19-2005 04:26 AM

Good choices. Those are the only RHCP albums that I can actually bare to listen to these days.

Arucard 08-19-2005 04:30 AM

His vocals and the bass on the early albums are pretty stupid. I read his auto-biography, and he lived a crazy life. He was clean for 5 years, then he went to the dentist to have his tooth removed and the pain killers got him hooked again.

Riva 08-19-2005 05:35 AM

So, my lower left jaw feels terrible, thanks to an angry wisdom tooth. On the lighter side, the Burger King thread inspired me to head out and get some take-away.

So, while I'm in the drive-thru at Hungry Jacks, waiting for my meal, some moron goes up to the paying window, pays the girl, then starts to creep forward. I'm thinking, okay moron, I'm still waiting here. Then he starts beeping his horn! What the hell is that! I just ignored him. Dumbarse.

Arucard 08-19-2005 06:08 AM

You should have busted out some kung foo on his arse.

Im going to get fish and chips.

Ad Absurdum 08-19-2005 06:25 AM

Weed is a waste of money, unless you have a bucket. I'd still be inclined to sell that weed and get drunk though.

Arucard 08-19-2005 06:33 AM

I want to try LSD after reading Anthony Kiedis' book, but im scared ill jump of something really high. Ive never done weed, and dont intend too.

ATM 08-19-2005 07:31 AM

Madey, if you want to smoke a little weed, head on down to Maryland!

Riva 08-19-2005 07:44 AM

My god, 8 Mile is funny. I just saw it again on TV. Eminem does a good job of acting, the rap improv scenes are great, but that sex scene is hilarious. I don't know if Brittany and Eminem are supposed to be tense, scared, passionate, loving or what, but it looks like two people trying to squeeze past each other in a narrow corridor.

Okay, I know this is going to get page snyped, so hopefully someone quotes it.

This is an ad on Aussie TV right now.
Weed isn't addictive though, is it?
No, it is not at all, but being high can be addictive.

That being said, being high is indeed a lot of fun, i prefer it to being drunk by a whole lot
^^^

True, it isn't addictive. But, like I said earlier, it's a gateway drug. You'll get bored of it eventually, and then move on to things that are.
Not true at all, i know many people who smoke pot, and have smoked pot for many many years yet i have only ever known one or two people who have gone onto harder things. Sure it is a gateway drug, but only if you want it to be.

I myself have been and am very content with just smoking weed all the time.
It's just as bad on the lungs.
Weed is actually worse on the lungs, but it evens itself out becuase people dont smoke weed as often as they would cigarettes, i mean how many people do you know who smoke 20 joints a day by themselves? Now conversely think about how many people out there do smoke 1 pack of cigarettes a day.

So yes, while one joint is more harmful to the lungs than one cigarette, the reason weed isnt as bad is because it isnt smoked nearly as often

Apparently ray already said something similar, but ill leave it.

I think there's something wrong with one of my bottom wisdom teeth. I woke up this morning, and my right cheek is a bit swollen, and it hurts when I poke around at it. :upset: I just went in to see my surgeon yesterday for a pre-op, and he said everything looked dandy, so hopefully I'm just imagining things.

You're hopefully only imagining it.

munky_magik 08-19-2005 08:44 AM

My wisdom teeth are yet to realy cause me any grievances.

Went shopping. Got:

Spiritual Beggars - Ad Astra (£3.99)
Mylo - Destroy Rock & Roll (£8.99)
The Bloodhound Gang - Hooray For Boobies (£5.00)
and General Patton Vs The Executioners (£8.99)

Riva 08-19-2005 08:49 AM

Isn't General Patton... the coolest album cover EVER!

Apocalyptic Raids 08-19-2005 08:50 AM

Last time I went to the dentist he said I won't have to get my wisdon teeth out. Seems my mouth is spacious

That really had to be an Aussie ad.

When it first started I thought it was going to be about the Polyphonic Spree.

"Toaster's broke. Better go fix it".

I loved the "Made From Beer" commercial one, also.

"Pushed into trucks, and driven around... by horses!"

"Poured into sideways glasses and drunk in pubs!"

The Haunted : The Haunted Made Me Do It (best album ever?)
AAF : ANThology
Foo Fighters : There Is Nothing Left To Lose

That came to a total of 30 quid. I love my second hand store, its so tr00.

Taste_My_Scythe 08-19-2005 10:21 AM

Awesome CDs, there.
Shitty day so far, and it's not even half past noon.
I ended up being so bored (I was supposed to be trying to sleep...didn't work) that I took out a huge pile of really old burned CDs to see which ones were safe to give away and which ones I should destroy. It was really weird....the stuff I used to listen to. Kinda nice reminiscing, though.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-19-2005 10:23 AM

Where have you been lately, Leah? I haven't seen you in here for a while. :p

Hey Jake!

Oh jeez, did you miss the entire hospital story?

I can copy/paste it if you like....it should still be lurking around in the COBHC thread along with ShadowsFallen's posts for me to stop talking about the blood.

Arucard 08-19-2005 10:29 AM

You kids and your crazy Hate Crew.

:p Yeah...had to tell them first, you know? If their leader died...they probably would have nothing to do with themselves.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-19-2005 10:33 AM

Blood? Sounds hardcore, I wanna see!

I'll look for the story, or if you find it, link/copy paste it, please.

Taste_My_Scythe 08-19-2005 10:35 AM

 Gimme a sec, I'll get it here.

Arucard 08-19-2005 10:35 AM

I don't think i was ever a member of an mx gang.

Taste_My_Scythe 08-19-2005 10:37 AM

You can join ours if you like Bodom. :P

Here's the story. Minus the part where my guy friends kept visiting me in the hospital, using up all the nurses' rubber gloves (you can imagine, I'm sure) and catapulting random things off the trash can. At least I was entertained...

Oh christ, I just found it. Read it anyways.
Excuse the detail.
pneumonia?! Leah how could this happen to anyone in summer?! Thank god (whom?!) you're not in the hospital anymore :(
:upset: It really sucked. First I had a real bad cough. Then I went to the doctor and they put me on meds. Then I went back and they told me I had bronchitis. Then I took a chest x-ray; doc said I had the beginning of pneumonia and that she wanted to admit me. Stayed there in the hospital, listening to little kids scream, being poked and prodded (in the middle of the night), having to do breathing treatments (in the middle of the night) and getting pumped full of IV stuff. I swear, I barely slept in that place. How the hell am I supposed to recover when I can't sleep?! Now I'm home, and I look like some kind of fucking random victim. My arms and hands are all bruised and everything.

NOT to mention that I can barely move my hands, hence, I haven't played guitar in over two weeks. Also, I've been in bed a lot, so I can't walk properly.

:thumb: I feel peachy!
heh, I dont think it was funny back then. Your hand was glued for the drip thing right? Bleh, all these are yucky. Again, I cant understand how you got pneumonia. Is it caused by a virus or something? Your organism will be vulnerable for a certain period of time, right? What cautions were you told to take?
Yep, I had a drip. Here's the story on that. I go to get my IV done in my LEFT hand. The nurse sticks me in a weird place...almost on top of my wrist. She keeps pushing it in and I jerk because she hits a nerve. Apparently, the needle pierced the vein and so there's blood bubbling up under my skin because the tourniquet is still on. So she tries to do the right hand, and manages. After spilling quite a lot of blood; I'm a gusher. So that's all sore and everything. Next day, I'm in bed and I move my right hand and feel a twinge. Somehow, the IV had bent and had to be removed. That's where the nurse (didn't like her too much) decided to try to give me an IV in the crook of my left elbow. She poked me once and it didn't work. She hit the vein, but when she tried taking the needle out, the whole thing popped out. Then she just goes "oh, let me try again" and attempts to stick the same vein! Well, obviously, it shrivels up, so she tries the vein next to it. Didn't work. So she finally runs to get another nurse to do it, who stuck it in the side of my let wrist and tapes/glues it to a board. Yep.

Forgive me, I'm a writer; hence detail.
Don't know how I got the bug, but it was really bad. I have to be on antibiotics, and steriods (through a breathing treatment four times a day). And bed rest and fluids and what not.

Arucard 08-19-2005 10:40 AM

I didn't sleep a wink when i went to hospital. I hate hospitals. And no, i won't join your terror gang.

Taste_My_Scythe 08-19-2005 10:42 AM

Yeah, hospitals suck. I've been in them way too many times. This was the longest I've stayed though, the last time I was only in four days.

EDIT: Anyone know much about halfdeadhippo?

munky_magik 08-19-2005 10:44 AM

He used to be fairly regular around here, but isn't really anymore.
Other than that I know not a thing.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-19-2005 10:45 AM

I got my IV on the inside of my left elbow. It hurt like a sonofabitch when it got removed too. :-/ I know a few people who've had pnuemonia, and it never goes that well. Out for at least two weeks of school, just sleeping and coughing. You know the deal. :p

EDIT: halfdeadhippo is a cool guy. He IM'd me last night, and we talked about Symphony X and such. He didn't post much for a while, but he's been posting quite a bit in the last few days. Why do you ask?

Taste_My_Scythe 08-19-2005 10:46 AM
He used to be failry regular around here, but isn't really anymore.

It's just weird because I got an email from MSN saying halfdeadhippo wants to talk to you!, and I haven't even talked to him on the board. Just a bit odd.

I think I'd hate to have it in my elbow. That would bug the hell out of me. Well, I haven't started school yet...I start the second week in september. It sucks though, because no one will let me do anything. They won't let me fucking make myself some pasta or food or anything. I'm actually supposed to be trying to sleep right now. I realize I do NOT enjoy being dependant on people.

EDIT: What sucks now, is that just when I find out that all you people have MSN, and I finally get MSN...my parents find out. I was talking to Ollie the other day and my mom saw and flipped out. So, no chatting with anyone from the board outside of the board for me. Parental rules bite.

On the subject of Wisdom teeth, I had mine removed 2 - 3 summers ago.

NP: Pink Floyd - Young Lust(live)

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-19-2005 12:33 PM

Leah- They put my IV in when I was asleep, and they took it out an hour or two after the gas stopped working, so it didn't bug me much. :) And your parents are pretty hXc. :p

Aaron- Where do you get all of your freaking Pink Floyd live songs? :( I have none.

So I'm doing a virus scan right now, and when I first started, it read something like this: Files scanned: 2,256 Unwanted files detected: 228
