I hurt my neck moshing to Enter Sandman once.
At the Metallica concert i went to this last September, i effed my neck up so bad during Creeping Death. It was hurting me for like 2 weeks. It was well worth it though.

lilmetallica 05-06-2005 01:54 PM

yea see i couldn't talk then...

so yea i was at the world tour and i hurt my neck for a whole week... out of all of the setlists i've seen i think mine was the best. i wish they would have done Welcome Home (Sanitarium) too (except they either do that or fade to black and i like FTB better)

so yea, great stuff

Sandtrap 05-06-2005 03:40 PM

I like fade to black better too

RustedPieces 05-06-2005 03:42 PM

My friend saw them play Dyers Eve. So lucky.
My friend saw them play Dyers Eve. So lucky.
is that rare or something? sorry I dont know much about live metallica these days...or even after 89' for that.

vashts80 05-06-2005 04:02 PM

Dyers Eve was played live in it's entirety for the first time on March 5th, 2004. So yes, it was rare. I think they played it ~20 times this tour, probably less
My friend saw them play Dyers Eve. So lucky.
crazy...

i heard all these years they never played it cause lars couldnt drum(do double bass) that fast anymore?

LarsAgi007 05-06-2005 04:25 PM

Thats a complete pile of rubbish lol....He can drum just as well as he used to... In fact when I wen't on their Madly in Anger with the world tour, On St Anger he did double bass all the way through almost (Excluding the soft chorus of course), And he had no problem doing it....
He plays Metallica - One almost every concert also... Thats the same speed double bassing...

Chu 05-06-2005 04:33 PM
9 and a half. Yes, I take things literally.
Crazee, do I wanna know where you found that out? :o

RustedPieces 05-06-2005 04:33 PM

I think James wrote that song about his parents when he was mad at them, and it was too personal or something to play live. I'm not sure though.

The reason they don't play Dyers eve alot in concerts is just the fact, Its an unpopular Metallica song, Its also fast, when your playing a 5 hour gig you need energy!!

flamesofbodom 05-06-2005 05:01 PM

I can hardly play it w/o getting worn out myself

Didnt james' parents both die when he was like 16 or so. I dont think he would write a song about his dead parents. (i wouldnt anyway.)

flamesofbodom 05-06-2005 05:12 PM

I think his dad sucked as a dad. Or something like that. His mom died early though

Joe 05-06-2005 06:03 PM

Nope, his parent's split around 13/14 and his mom passed away a few years later, i haven't heard any more about his dad

Lars rarely did the double bass in One this tour..I heard about 20 boots of One from this tour and he did the double-kick 2 or the 20.

Dyers Eve was crap for Lars, he couldn't keep up with it. As you grow older, stuff like that takes it's toll. Think about doing that every night for two years, then stopping for a year, then 2 years, etc.

Apocalyptic Raids 05-06-2005 06:46 PM

Well considering he supposedly had to record it in three separate intervals, it's not really suprising that he can't keep up 10 or so years later. Many drummer the same age as lars do more double kick in gigs, so thats not much of an excuse.

james said in an interview that his dad passed away in 1990 or somewhere around that *doesnt remember*

When I saw them they played both Sanitarium and FTB. They also played Dyer's Eve.
But on the down side, they didn't play anything from KEA and they didn't play For Whom the Bell Tolls
