/isnt mod approved yet probably.

Eleventeen, you need to expand that review a bit, I think. It's too brief. There's a fine line between succinct and not enough information. :)

How should I go about editting it if it's not yet approved yet already submitted?

Shred Danson 03-27-2006 06:52 PM
Agreed.

It's one of these lists I've been actually happy with

Bugger me.
Anyone who has Kill by Cannibal Corpse, listen to Five nails through the neck at 1:40.
That's the kind of thing that makes me both drop my jaw and wish feverently I could do that.
I'm in a real pissed off mood right now so I might just do that.

/puts Kill in

i am the robots 03-27-2006 06:53 PM

I'm really not a fan of all of CC's other releases, should I give Kill a shot?

Give Tomb Of The Mutilated and The Bleeding a second chance then come back later for a nice dosage of Kill. :p

It depends, they have become alot more catchy and technical, these last couple of releases. Gore obsessed and the wretched spawn were two unusual albums in that without sacrificing the brutality that is their trademark, they have become much more accomplished technically.
The two before that, Gallery of suicide and Bloodthirst are kind of halfway houses between the new sound and the early stuff, leaing them a little lost in musical direction, good albums, but not definitive.
If you heard the old stuff and didn't like it, I would give Kill a whirl, but if it was either of the last two albums you didn't like, I wouldn't bother, as musically, Kill is similar to them, but a further evolution.

Also, the lyrics have changed a fair bit... there is gore, but less Necrophilia and well, I don't know how to put this, but female victims?
I suppose it was part of Barnes' lyrics, and when he left left, it's become more straight up killing lyrical themes than more depraved acts.

By "Catchy", I mean riffing like Pit of Zombies and vocals like nothing left to mutilate and rotted body landslide.
Listen to them and you'll see what I mean.

NP-CC-Infinite Misery.

For those of you who record, I have a question.

I'm re-intalling everything on my comp, and I have to choose between Cubase LE (a small crappy version of cubase) or Cool Edit Pro 2.1. Wich one is better? I really hate cubase, and will it work with my hardware? (presonus firebox- A audio Interface/preamp)

Kill is definetly good for CC, I like it alot.

Shred Danson 03-27-2006 07:10 PM

let me put it this way, I like Kill way better than The Wretched Spawn.

Lord Abortion 03-27-2006 07:13 PM

Yeah, they've definitely been getting better musically in the past few years.

I'm not really a huge fan of the earlier stuff, the odd track from the first three albums are excellent, I cum blood, a skull full of maggots, covered in sores, vomit the soul, hammer smashed face...
but they only became amazing with The Bleeding. That album absoultely slays, and along with Gore obsessed is my favourite CC album. Try the pickaxe murders, stripped, raped and strangled, she was asking for it, an experiment in homicide, staring through the eyes of the dead...all these tracks are excellent.

I laughed when someone posted "Kill sounds like an exact replica of Gore obsessed"

I was like...Fine by me!

On the bleeding, I could say that was the only time I have ever been impressed by Barnes' vocals, he's almost as good as the live cannibalism versions with George... I am tempted to try Six feet under's first album, too see if it's vocally similar, but all the stuff I have heard by them sucks.

Bedtime, night folks.

I really like Kill. It doesn't have any tracks that jump out at me like Severed Head Stoning and Blunt Force Castration on TWS though.

I love TWS, but Kill is all around good, not fillers then really good but good all around.

i am the robots 03-27-2006 07:23 PM

Ok, I'm gonna download Kill then.

Sorry, I thought that was good sarcasm.

Bah, I can't go to a show because 1) my parents are probably my ride and dont wanna drive that far unless my friend takes me 2) they think its not in a "good" neighborhood.

It's all sunshine, it's nothin' but sunshine

Rainbows, puppies, and balloons

Hugs and smooches

THE SUN WILL COME OUTTTT TO-MOR-ROW... BET YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR...

Happiness and joy abound ITT

Riva 03-27-2006 07:38 PM

So ya
Thought ya
Might like to go to the show
To feel the warm thrill of confusion
That space cadet glow
Tell me is something eluding you sunshine?
Is this not what you expected to see?
If you wanna find out what's behind these cold eyes,
You'll just have to claw your way through the disguise

In the Flesh :) I love that album and song.

Riva 03-27-2006 07:42 PM

In The Flesh? to be precise. In The Flesh has a slightly different set of lyrics for the first verse. Good work picking it up anyway. Here's a star. (*)

Oh, sorry, Mister Mod, I was under the impression that the community thread was for general discussion. Cannibal Corpse just turned into the topic of the moment. Forgive us all.
