I want to download the video of DJ Shadow's "Six Days" but don't know where to look for it.
I saw The Island a few days ago. It really surprised me. I was expecting it to be fairly bad, but it was actually pretty great. It was quite funny in parts and very well written. Has anyone else seen it?
I also saw The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, which was very good, as expected.
I thought it was ok, nothing amazing. It starting snowing here a few hours ago, yay! np: Radiohead - Paranoid Android |
Well yeah, it wasn't amazing, but it was enjoyable.

Those frogs in Magnolia: WTF!?!??!
|
Ugh, I have to give a presentation tommorow on quantum mechanics. And guess what? I only have 5 minutes to describe it to the class.
Weeeeeee, this is gonna be fun. |

Yeah, fucked up, huh? |

It snowed here today. They were the big, fluffy, beautiful flakes. I love winter.
Yeah, fucked up, huh?
I didn't find it fucked up at all, personally. I saw them as either an act of God (referred to in the black kid's rap..."when the sunshine don't work the good lord bring in the rain") or something that happened by chance (referring to the introduction of the film, and also when Stanley said "these things happen") to change the circumstances for people. For example, for Jimmy, it stopped his suicide. For Claudia, it was the first step for her to reconcile with her mother and for Donnie, the frogs caused his meeting with Jim, who was able to help him sort out his life. That's what I've sort of figured out partly by myself and partly with the help of others. Magnolia is my favourite. Speaking of films, I just watched a German one from the 30s called M. It was pretty awesome. |
Yay 4 noir. :)
|
I haven't seen Magnolia in a while and you've obviously thought about it a bit more than me, as evidenced by my response of "Yeah, fucked up, huh?" So I'll admit that you're probably right.
|
Just watched Crash. Cool flick.
|
I need to see Crash.
Yay 4 noir. :)
<3 noir. On Monday night, I'm having a night with some mates where we are watching some of the best modern noir films...Dark City, Memento and Sin City are all on the list.
I haven't seen Magnolia in a while and you've obviously thought about it a bit more than me, as evidenced by my response of "Yeah, ****ed up, huh?" It was ****ed up in the sense that throwing in a seemingly random scene of raining frogs is ****ed up, but it's not like he threw the frogs in to make the film wierd or artsy. |
Yeah I know breddy.

Get some L.A. Confidential up in thar. What's the premise to Dark City? The title sounds familiar. |
Dark City is rad.

It's a bit hard to explain, especially for me...I haven't seen it for about 4 years. allmovie gives a decent explanation: http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=1:158819 Suffice to say, it's a futuristic noir sort of film. |
Sounds good, gonna have to remember it next time I'm a-huntin'.
It's all rainy and wet here and it's about damn time. |
The weather has been great. It's been rainy and windy all day.
|
It's been raining here too. It must be a worldwide storm.
|
Nah. Was hotter than hell here today.
|
Pfft. It's never hot in New Zealand.
|
It was like hard rain when I was walking home today, ghey.
|
wow. I'm kind of buzzed at the moment.
I went out drinking with some friends around here and now I'm on the intranet at 2:32am. Somewhat odd and definitely out of character. Does anyone else wish they could be perpetually out of character? Becoming the individual who is never as they seem to be? It's something I desire, but realize is impossible. Oh well. For my future embarrassment - - - - - please ignore my semi-drunken post. Thank you. |
It happens to most of us. If I post drunk, I won't say it in my post, but if someone can figure it out then I'll fess up.
And I know what you mean by being out of character when you're under the influence. I'm much more talkative usually. It's sad, actually. |
Yay. MX is back.
|

I'm the exact same way. I'd typically be very quiet and mostly an observer, but once I've had a few I'll say exactly what's on my mind at any point. I'm not sure if it's something I wish to strive for in my everyday life, though. It's something that's difficult to balance/determine as to which is desirable and which is my truer self. |
Heh, we've all done the drunken post.

I see what you mean. I actually kinda sit/stand on the side and observe and listen to drunken conversations, then if someone approaches me, I'll talk to them. |
