Eh, I usually develop crushes on my female friends. Not all of them but a lot of the time.

masada 08-13-2006 12:39 AM

I think I've liked ever female I've been friends with at one point or another.

Thus, I have no friends.

PECOAE 08-13-2006 01:07 AM
I think I've liked ever female I've been friends with at one point or another.

Same here.

Except I have a few male friends.

Though its true I like most of my female friends.

I am one of the girls, it sucks.

I'll never get one unless I can stop being friends with 'em!

PECOAE 08-13-2006 01:16 AM

Wow.

I'm too young and innocent for that kind of stuff.

No, really.

Zappa 08-13-2006 01:18 AM

What an adventure. I could really use that right about now. But I'm going to college soon, so that should be plenty.

PECOAE 08-13-2006 01:23 AM

Damn.

There's really nothing you can do in terms of reckless endangerment of life and limb short of going out in the middle of the night and flashing money in Manhattan.

I mean, it's hard to crash a car at 30 MPH.

And I'm too young to drive a car.

Damn NY state, in Florida I'd be able to already.

asdf 08-13-2006 02:36 AM
Yesterday I went out with a couple friends on an overnight secret road trip to Indiana. We made it almost to the border when we missed an exit and drove into a ditch, destroyed his car, and got stranded until about 4 AM until AAA showed up. First thing the guy said was "Shit! How the fuck did you guys manage this?!" It was nice knowing we were dealing with a calm, collected expert.

I'm running on an hour or so of sleep, and some macaroni and cheese which is the only thing I ate all day. wooooo
Sounds exciting. Really puts my day of sitting on my *** watching TV to shame.

I hate how all my friends who drive are so hung up on the price of gas, and have such a hissyfit when asked to drive. But then again, what am I bitching about, I choose to bike.

PECOAE 08-13-2006 02:40 AM

You know, I don't know if I want to drive anymore.

I hate that generation.

You know, the one that was able to enjoy Classic Rock, Punk, and New Wave, and then dumped all these problems in our laps.

asdf 08-13-2006 02:43 AM
price of gas kills me too, considering I haven't started my job yet. I'll be making decent money but until then I've gotta get by with like $5 at the gas station every time.

anyway, driving into a construction ditch is scary as hell. It was narrow but deep enough to where I have no idea how the car didn't get stuck.
I'm really glad I've never gotten into any sort of car crash. I've been in some scary situations with "impaired" drivers, but nothing happened.

Just yesterday me and a few friends were almost stranded because he ran out of gas, and altogether we had 5 dollars.

Price of gas really does suck, and that's why I might be investing in a moped. I'm still debating, though.

But I swear, one of my friends, who has two jobs that pay well, still bitches at everyone to give her gas money anytime she drives. We don't even try to ask her to go anywhere, because she'll start complaining. There have been a couple of times where she drives us to the location, then leaves early without warning, leaving us stranded towntown at midnight. It's really awesome.

Dog 08-13-2006 02:48 AM
here have been a couple of times where she drives us to the location, then leaves early without warning, leaving us stranded towntown at midnight
situations like this always make fun adventure stories though.

asdf 08-13-2006 02:49 AM

All my other friends are cool about it but her. I always give people gas money eventually, and I don't even have any form of income. But I just feel less inclined when she's always in everyone's face about it.

Which has led to a lot of this summer's activities to be within biking distance.

br3ad_man 08-13-2006 07:03 AM

I've got my driving test at the end of the month. I'm trying to convince myself that I won't fail from nerves. I could have had it nearly a year ago. gg me.

Bukowski 08-13-2006 07:48 AM

As soon as I get my driving license, I'm off on a road trip. It's what reading too much Kerouac does to ya.

Zappa 08-13-2006 11:46 AM

I don't have my license. Maybe next summer.

asymm 08-13-2006 11:55 AM

Why is everyone around here so slow to get their license? Strange phenomenon.

pixiesfanyo 08-13-2006 11:58 AM

Because we all have no reason to get licenses since all we do is chat on message boards.

Anxious 08-13-2006 01:06 PM

You guys are all so well adjusted compared to me.

Dog 08-13-2006 01:12 PM

i got my license a couple months after turning 16.
I don't have my license. Maybe next summer.
in my state if you're 18 or over you don't even have to take driver's-ed to get your license. you just have to pass a computerized test at the dmv.

there are a lot of bad drivers here.

PECOAE 08-13-2006 01:21 PM

Well, I don't have a license because of NY State (grumble grumble), and the price of gas.

I might get one for road trips.

Actually, I'd want to save up enough money to get on the road with a bunch of guys who play music and pile instruments into an RV/Van/whatever everyone will fit and drive across the country and just kinda live off of the road for a few weeks. That would be fun. Playing gigs and all.

masada 08-13-2006 01:34 PM

i'm going to buy a broken-down pink pinto

talk show host 08-13-2006 04:11 PM

I'm hoping to get my license next year. It should be pretty easy here because there are barely any cars, heh.

nutty_bar 08-13-2006 04:29 PM

I want a Volkswagon Van. Put some shag carpet on it, paint it tye-dye, and replace the VW logo on the front with a peace sign. It will be my very own hippie van.

JonM 08-13-2006 04:31 PM

I heard they're coming out with a new van in the same vein as the new Beetle. Isn't that tight?

nutty_bar 08-13-2006 04:41 PM

That's awesome man. I don't know why I like those vans so much, it's a recent obsession in the past couple months, I just think they look so cool.

Maybe it is the hippie-look, or the 70's-vibe I get for it.

masada 08-13-2006 04:42 PM

maybe because d. boon drove one

nutty_bar 08-13-2006 04:45 PM

This is driving me crazy, every time I try to upload an avatar it says I can't use it for some reason. Help?

masada 08-13-2006 04:47 PM

the internet hates you!

are you uploading it from your computer or are you using the link? if you you're using a link then it has to be the right size, but if you upload it, the site will automatically resize it. is it something other than jpg or gif? if it's a gif the filesize may be too large etc.

nutty_bar 08-13-2006 04:48 PM

The internet has feelings?

masada 08-13-2006 04:49 PM

the internet is a complex woman.

nutty_bar 08-13-2006 04:54 PM

I'm uploading it from the computer. I am going to try a link, maybe the amazon cd covers will be the right size? I hope so.

masada 08-13-2006 04:54 PM

Amazon images never work. I don't know why.

nutty_bar 08-13-2006 05:06 PM

Worked for me. NMH suckaa. I couldn't decide between NMH or the Unicorns, so who knows how long this one will last. You have what would have been my third choice.

superpeer 08-13-2006 05:33 PM

Hey, I'm 20 and I still can't drive. \m/
the internet is a complex woman.
The internet is like a beautiful woman, you can visit all kinds of cool parts but then you're stuck with a lot of viruses.

Or something.

Dog 08-13-2006 05:42 PM

that's the best analogy i've ever heard.

superpeer 08-13-2006 05:57 PM

Thank you much. :p

sweboy 08-13-2006 06:05 PM

Superpeer, her tattoo in your avatar is fake. /sweboy's interesting fact of the day

Anxious 08-13-2006 06:16 PM
Hey, I'm 20 and I still can't drive. \m/
And you are subconsciously dealing with this fact through your avatar.

I don't usually laugh at things on MX, but these both made me do so.

Well_Respected_Man 08-13-2006 07:32 PM

I got stopped by a 10 minute train during my driving test.

ATM 08-13-2006 09:01 PM

Did you have akward small talk with the teacher?
