Trust me, one of your favorite bands has done a session with him, for his show. I heartily that everyone go and buy a Peel Session, they're really quite nice(especially the Joy Division one). I wonder what will happen with his record collection, he did have the biggest one in the world(at least as a private collection). Anyone that's made great music in the past 40 years has had to do with him, and it is a truly sad day for music in general.

dude okay, so the days over and Im just about to log off MX and go home, the announcer lady is totally illiterate...she's so fvcking annoying, and theres a goth next to me, who is pissing the hell out of me. he smells.

The Smiths, Jimi Hendrix, the White Stripes, the Manic Streat Preachers, The Clash, Punk, hip-hop, reggae... if you like any of those you owe him a huge debt.

PaulSimonon 10-26-2004 02:44 PM

Hendrix AND The Clash? I owe him my life.

A 1979 Peavey T-40. Look at the harmony-central reviews and you'll understand.

thelowsoundofbass 10-26-2004 02:51 PM

nice bass, have fun with it and don't mess yourself all over it.

I hope you've got a good back, those things weigh a ton. Very nice bass, otherwise, though. What color is yours gonna be?

Natural color. And yes, I have a strong back, being 14, a hockey player, former football player, and a student (At least 30lbs of books on my back throughout the schoolday, running up stairs during every passing period).

My classes are all over my school, and it's still being built, so we don't have hallways to certain areas, we have to walk twice as far to another hallway. I have all of my books in my backpack... 7 classes worth of books. argg.

Is the "Old Lessons & articles" forum working for anyone???

its asking for a password...

it's been like this since yesterday :(

PaulSimonon 10-26-2004 03:09 PM

They must be making modifications to it or something.

Wintermute 10-26-2004 03:13 PM

It's been locked by one of the admins... not sure why. There was a security glitch someone had found, but I would have thought that would only affect the new system... If I hear anything I'll let you know.

PaulSimonon 10-26-2004 03:30 PM

I believe I told you I was considering a Peavey T-40.

I'm no longer considering! :D
It's mine! Being shipped from Texas. Needs a small bit of work, nothing seriously wrong with it. 125USD!! (+30$shipping/insurance :upset: )

Saitoku 10-26-2004 03:31 PM

YAY! Someone used my spleen rhyme.

A bass, and a glorious one at that!

Cosmetic wear, switches need replacing. I've emailed Peavey about buying the switches.

Hello Peoples.

PaulSimonon 10-26-2004 04:11 PM

hey

LambofDeth 10-26-2004 04:23 PM

Sup MX
Today, i got to finally play the stand-up in concert. However i instantly made a fool of myself by asking if there was a plug in, of course the teacher tells everyone that they're all acoustic, and are never amped. WELL this coming from the same temp (can't wait till shes gone) who told us there was no bass in concert, obviously has never seen a stand-up that plugs in (and if they don't...then i have some serious problem because i could've sworn i've played one before). So only me and the 2 tuba players right in front of me (oh the join, 2 of my best friends, its kick ***) can hear me. Thus the reason today i got bored and busted out for whom the bell tolls in the middle of the song, pretty funny actually.
A gr. 11 bassist came through and gave me some tips too, stuff like how playing with two fingers will make it more hearable (audible???) and just general stuff (it was my first time playin a stand-up, good help).
So anyone else here play standup in concert band??? Its hella fun, god i can't wait till i can play on every song (still 1/2 trumpet).
