I found it :D

I cheated though :(

What's the ribcage/Wal-Mart story?

Found what? :p
Found what?
Absolutely nothing that will help you. I let him get away with it, but from now on, you have to have the original SOURCE.

Undertow Ribcage story: Basically, when Undertow was released, Walmart replaced the ribcage that is typically displayed on the front of the album with a large barcode. They thought that a ribcage was too graphic, or something bullshit, so they censored it. I think Tool ended up making some kind of recall program where you could send in your barcoded Undertow booklet for a real Undertow booklet.

joas 10-29-2005 09:40 PM

I don't understand what's so bad about the ribcage? I can understand the inside artwork maybe being considered "too graphic", but the outside?

NO!

The barcode cover was made by Tool to differentiate the clean version from the regular (ribcage) one.

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-29-2005 09:45 PM

Exactly. I mean, they don't censor movie covers, which can oftentimes depict corpses, blood, etc..

And BOOKS! The majority of adult books contain more graphic content than a Cannibal Corpse album, yet they censor Evanescence albums. I don't give a shit if Walmart only carries edited albums, but for them to create a double standard for different forms of entertainment, that's just moronic.
F1. Hmmm.. what's that on the cover?

Depends on where you bought your CD. If you bought it at Wal-Mart, it's a giant barcode. The gods of censorship have spoken. (You used to be able to get a real cover by writing in to an address printed in the liner notes; this offer does not appear to be valid anymore). Otherwise, it is a photo of a scuplture done by Adam, of a rib cage. And hey, did you know that if you hold the cover up to the light the ribcage encircles the fat lady on the inside?! (Little bonus trivia tidbit ... coincidence?)
I'm so fukin close! Ahhh! The suspense is killing me. I know I can do this.

The sucky part is, I really need to get some sleep!

misunderstood 10-30-2005 12:19 AM

I found it!...I think. It's weird yet interesting.

dUSK 10-30-2005 03:21 AM

I can't find anything, but it's been ages since I've looked at Toolband so I doubt I'll ever find it.

EDIT: However, I just looked at '15 Minutes', and I can now see the quote without having to Right Click>Select All. It's brighter. Has it always been like this? I never used to be able to see it like I am now.

YouGottaBeCrazy 10-30-2005 06:02 AM

I still can't find anything. The source hint didn't help me.

Do you guys know what riff Adam plays before Cold and Ugly on the OK bootleg? (tab it plz)

Holy sh!t, you're a murderer?!??!?!??!
Do you guys know what riff Adam plays before Cold and Ugly on the OK bootleg? (tab it plz)
It's the opening riff to the Rush song called "A Passage to Bangkok." I have a bootleg of a London concert from the mid 90s and he does it before "Cold and Ugly" then too. So, maybe he always does it in concert?

dUSK 10-30-2005 09:34 AM

Speaking of the OK Bootleg, are there any Australians here who have it? And if there is, would you be interested in doing a trade by mail?

I really want to see this show, but I can't download. :(

I've pretty much gave up, because I had a really interesting AIM conversation that took uo a while, and then I went to bed. Now, I'm getting ready to go hang out with some friends in about an hour or so.

BlindWriting 10-30-2005 10:09 AM

I'm curious, what is it you found?

Otherside 10-30-2005 10:11 AM

This has been too overblown, once you guys find it, your going to be dissapointed :\

Dude3 10-30-2005 10:13 AM

Attention!

I've found it! I found it all. Trust me guys, you haven't seen ANYTHING yet. I seriously just creamed my pants.

Yes, you guys have gotten far, from what I've seen, but not at the top of mountain yet. What you will find is, YES, very interesting. VERY. I can't tell you exactly what it will reveal. All I can say, is that this is monumental. No joke. Nothing in my mind has ever reached the proportions of what they're doing.

I know, its just music, right? I think so. But remember something. Where would we be today without music? Since the times of fukin cavemen, even drum beats were their choice of music. Every civilization, every culture, has produced their 'own' type of music. FACE IT! Music, is on the of the most important concepts since religion.

That's all I can say.

Unless that's all just complete b.s., and you're trying to piss everyone off, then I want to know how you "found" whatever it is you found.

Its not what you 'find', but how you interpret it. You must interpret it the right way though. And when you do, you'll know.

What?

Are you gonna be a Blair about this or are you gonna help out your fellow Tool fans?

dUSK 10-30-2005 10:22 AM

Well, I just found something else odd, but I doubt it's what faith's talking about. Nothing exciting.
