Moon Flavor 08-23-2008 12:23 AM

so...anyone stilkl awake round these parts...?

Permanent Solution 08-23-2008 12:23 AM

of course not

Angmar 08-23-2008 12:24 AM

Yup, still have a messed up sleep schedule sorta, but I try and force myself to go to bed around midnight, even if it takes me forever to fall asleep.

Moon Flavor 08-23-2008 12:27 AM

yeah i usually sleep by midnight (2.5 hours ago) but it's a weekend and lots of drugs yadda yadda typical community thread speak etc...

anywho, i can't sleep and i'm shuffling through songs and only getting bs so someone recommend me musics!

Permanent Solution 08-23-2008 12:42 AM

handel's messiah

badtaste 08-23-2008 12:42 AM

4:40 pm here, day is just getting started.

Soliciting another album recommendation, any genre, preferably something interesting.

Permanent Solution 08-23-2008 12:44 AM

streetlight manifesto - somewhere in the between (ska)
handel - messiah (classical)
brand new - the devil and god are raging inside me (post-rock/pop punk?)

badtaste 08-23-2008 12:48 AM

Sweet, thanks.

I'll try Brand New. Not a big fan of ska, and for various reasons, I refuse to d/l classical music.

Angmar 08-23-2008 12:49 AM

Current 93 - All the Pretty Little Horses

neofolk musics :)

I wrote a review for it if you're interested.

im intrigued by those "various reasons"

badtaste 08-23-2008 01:01 AM

Cool, if I'm still in the mood for something new after Brand New, I'll give it a go.
Good choice Mappy, but Full Collapse and War All The Time are better. =)
a city by the light divided = so much more mature, songwriting speaking, srsly
Yeah Mappy can't make his mind up on an account to use.
no, i wanted a big avatar lol

Ha, I'm not really sure myself. I just feel more comfortable buying classic music, particularly since I often find cheap box sets. Plus, I don't trust internet people's labels and tags, I'd have no idea if I was listening to the right item. ☺

i need that brand new album, but that streetlight album is really mediocre. Everything Went Numb is great, but SWitB is really average.

Thor 08-23-2008 07:31 AM

i just had to lug a 20 pound table over a mile back to my dorm.

typing has become much harder to do at the moment

pate 08-23-2008 07:40 AM

Dorms = Fail

Thor 08-23-2008 07:48 AM

yeah a little bit

not having control of the thermostat is fail

pate 08-23-2008 08:00 AM

Indeed. And then in the spring they won't turn the air back on no matter what. 105 degrees F = "You don't need air"

Thor 08-23-2008 08:11 AM

i don't think it'll ever get THAT bad becuase i'm in the mountains, but yeah it was really retardedly cold last night. at least for august.

Deth 08-23-2008 09:13 AM

My apartment is going splendidly, I must say.

Thor 08-23-2008 09:14 AM

yeah i'd kill for an apartment right now. it's freeeezing

Deth 08-23-2008 09:15 AM

We're still in ****ing Tropical Storm Fay. It's followed me for the past 5 days or so.

Kingofdudes 08-23-2008 09:34 AM

Fay is coming my way

Holy **** I drank over a long time yesterday

I used to think the SM album was mediocre, but after listening to it awhile I've really come to love it.

True. I'm flying back to my apartment today though. Apartments are glorious.

Permanent Solution 08-23-2008 10:15 AM

house>apartment

Lunch 08-23-2008 10:19 AM
house>apartment
Yea, I'd imagine. A good thing about my apartment is that it's the entire second floor of a cool house. So while it's similar in terms of actual space to most regular apartments, it's got a little more character and uniqueness than the cookie-cutter apartments in random complexes. Nice porch too.

that would be pretty nice.

the thing about apartments is your neighbors are right next to you, and so you can't be loud whenever you want, because it will bother them. As a drummer this s a tragedy.

Lunch 08-23-2008 10:29 AM

Yea, last year we got lucky and had cool people living below us, hopefully this year will be the same. I miss playing my drums when I'm at school though. Even without the neighbor situation there's just not enough room for them in my place. Maybe for next year I'll look into getting a house so I can bring the kit up.

I wish I could afford an electronic set, but to get one that doesn't suck is easily more than a grand.

Permanent Solution 08-23-2008 10:34 AM

Yeah, some houses probably wouldn't have the space either, but I'm lucky enough to have had 2 pretty big houses. The one this year is great because I have my (master) bedroom, plus a drum room. Totally rocks.

Electronic drumsets are mad expensive for good ones. The only one I've liked that I tried was the like $5000 Roland.

it's pretty much past us but we're still get storms :|

Thor 08-23-2008 11:06 AM

AA-12 08-23-2008 11:08 AM

agreed

Thor 08-23-2008 11:09 AM

florida's not even that great to visit either, i don't understand why so many old people want to live there.

McP3000 08-23-2008 11:44 AM

the sex life for people over 60 there is phenomenal

Thor 08-23-2008 11:49 AM

not to mention the public school system down there is completely down the toilet

and ew

Permanent Solution 08-23-2008 11:50 AM

It's because there is no personal income tax in Florida.

Thor 08-23-2008 11:51 AM

yeah the only time i went to a private school (which was luckily only for one year) was when i lived in florida.

McP3000 08-23-2008 11:52 AM

private school was awesome in high school

but then again im going to private school from 2 to 22 year old so idk

Permanent Solution 08-23-2008 11:55 AM

when i visited cornell, I deduced that my public school was better than their private school they paid $40k a year to attend. ****ing awesome
