But I think it's amazing how Tool figure things like this out. I respect the album a lot more now.
|
I put Tool's tracks in Adobe Audition before and noticed they shared similar properties to Lateralus tracks (and we all know what happened with that one), but I never stumbled across doing this. Ill give it a try now
|
I'm doing it right now and it sounds pretty cool so far. I wondered why Viginti Tres was so gay.
Agreed. When Wings started and the vocal harmonies started coming in is when it was just like 'Wow...' |
.
Yes, even with Maynard singing it lines up .. You need a surround system. Luckily I have two systems :) .. With headphones things got sketchy here and there. But my god ! My God ! With surround system it is mint. I put 10000 days in the rear and viginti tres + Wings for Marie in the front. . With surround , You can even hear the wisps in Maynards voice for Wings for Marie flow with 10,000 days while they are playing together like harmony.. Like harmonious ! It's like he is having a back and forth conversation, it flows so nice.. Like listening to Floyd on acid ! LOL When it gets heavy right at 9:14 the instruments line up RRRReally nice :) . |
Meh, doesnt sound that great IMO. Ill stick with me 2 individual tracks (and continue to skip Viginti Tres)
|
.
Your doing something wrong then . |
.
I didn't know if you people knew this, but I thought I'd share it just in case - la te ra lus Take the "made up" word "Lateralus" . Notice how the letters are separated into groups of two? The last letter S is tacked onto the previous group Each group relates to a chemical symbol ---------------------------------------------- LA: Lanthanum TE: Tellurium RA: Radium LU: Lutetium S(last single letter): Sulfur Greek & Latin Meaning -------------------------- Lanthanum: From the Greek word lanthaneis (to lie hidden) Tellurium: From the Greek word tellus (Earth or Beneath) Radium: From the Latin word radius (light ray) Lutetium: From "Lutetia", the ancient Latin name for Paris(often called the "city of lights") Sulfur: From the Latin word sulfur (hellfire or brimstone) After conjugating the verbs and whatnot: "Lying hidden beneath the light of Paris is hellfire." Given Tool's almost obsessive interest in the aspects of "Rennes-le-Château" and it's connection to the ancient Paris meridian, I think it's fair to say the album title is significant.. . |
^^^Okay, you are officially a nerd. sofa king we eared (can you figure that one out?)
I mixed it into one track. I still don't think I did it right though. |
Jesus christ that guy is weird.
I've having trouble mixing it too. |
I'm uploading it right now with the best I could manage it. I'm just gonna post it in here because I don't feel like sending it to anyone through email.

Hmm I still haven't managed to get them to match perfectly.
|
I didnt have much trouble, just made sure the patterns lined up (thankfully it has an auto-lineup type of feature, so was quite easy). But even with it lined up, some parts sound really out of place. But the parts that do synch are pretty cool I admit.
|
I'd have to agree with Prince of Darkness though, Viginti Tres sounds better with 10,000 Days than Wings for Marie.

:-* |
Everyone loves me.
|
Im listening now. Pretty cool so far.
EDIT: Holy crap the ending ruled. If rep was still on I would give it to ya Moses. |
This is rad.
|
.
Yeah the ending is sweet eh ? I had it piped through TWO surround systems.. I brought the one out of the bedroom and into in my living room and played both cd's in each system . It sounded better and more harmonious than the one surround system.. It was 2 times better . Almost no rough edges at all throughout the whole thing . Like 6 musicians playing at the same time but in harmony .. It was Sweet ! Well, I knew you guys would like that . |
I'm gonna try and find more syncs that go with it. I think maybe Lost Keys might go with it in the beginning.
EDIT: Eh, kinda but not really. I'm not gonna try anymore. I need to practice piano. So I should have seen somthing like this coming. I knew there was more to this album than just what I heard. |
The ending could've synched better. The heavy part was awesome, though.
|
Moses, It's not easy to get the last part synched, but getting that in synch would be amazing.
|
I think if indeed Tool meant for this to go together, they could have done a better job too. I mean there are lots of parts that go out of key.
That would be funny if it was all a coincidence. |
I think we just learnt a lesson here:
Don't judge a Tool album until at least a month later. There is so much more to Tool albums than just songs, artwork and packaging. |
They may have intended it, or may have intended it to seem like it went. Or it could just be coincidence. Either way, its pretty cool to try, no matter what people say about it.
|
That's awesome moses.
|
I think we just learnt a lesson here:

oh moses, did you synch it with the leak version? Because the leak version has 2 seconds at the end of each track.
|
No, it's the album version. It added a second in the beginning when I imported it on Audacity.
|
What's this i hear about two songs synching together? I tried Viginti Tres and 10,000 days and didn't hear anything, then tried Wings for Marie and Viginti Tres Together and still nothing. What is it?
|
Viginti Tres then Wings For Marie both playing over 10k days
So in an editing program it would be ____________________ 10k days ____________________ Viginti Tres/Wings For Marie _____________________ |
Click on the link at the top of the last page in those quotes, it has the three synched fairly well.
You play 10,000 Days synched with Viginti Tres followed by Wings for Marie. |

My god, the last few minutes are rather epic. They lock very well together.
|
This is very cool. Thanks Moses.
|
This sync stuff could be amazing...I'm gonna fiddle about with it when i next get really bored. Some of vigniti tres is too high in the mix for me...and there could be some great fading in and out on WFM. The heavy part gave me the biggest shivers any song has given me.
|
Yeah, I just did that in like 5 minutes so there's alot that can be done to it.
|
Some parts really grate on me (especially the whirring noise of WFM). And i think the synch is ever so slightly out (not trying to be a d!ck and critiscise). It'll be fun to play aroud with. I think the title track needs to be faded out a couple of times too.
The heavy part is absolutley amazing though. |
