That's hard to say. Metallica did add some alternative aspects to there albums, but I don't think when that decision was made, money was in mind. Sure, it was a major result later, and that happens to lots of bands, but I don't think either of them said "Let's make alternative music to make money."

What do you kids think of Disposable Heroes?
What do you kids think of Disposable Heroes?
Its good. Everything on MoP is good. |
Disposable heroes was the second song I really liked on Master Of Puppets, besides MoP itself. Next time, of course, Battery.
|
What about Leper Messiah? Everyting about it genious
|
My AIM is Ieper Mesiah :/
What about Leper Messiah? Everyting about it genious
Hell yes, both Disposable Heroes and Leper Messiah kick total *** I reckon. I was listenning to Dream Theater's cover of the MoP album, they completely own the album, they have an extended ending on Orion too (Best song, ever), finishes with some sick bass into guitar. (At first I thought it was a different intro to Damage Inc, but then the intro started so it must have been an extended ending, or maybe just a little jizz played, but it suits Orion so well). |
They covered the whole album?
|
When was this?
|

I know its real, but i dont want to download it. |
They did it live.
Like, 2003. Edit: Well I downloaded it, unfortunately I only have it one .mp3 too, so you have to fast forward to get to the songs, but I usually just put it on Battery and leave it. It's not the greatest quality, because it's live, but it's not so bad it's unlistennable. |
They covered the whole freaking album? my aim is gocaps99
|
Yeah, the whole 57 minutes. I don't use AIM, sorry.
I'd have to upload it on YSI. (I know I said I'd do it tonight, but some people came around and we went out, so I have to do it tomorrow guys, sorry). |
I had the whole thing saved in a RAR file, but I think I deleted it for room. It was really cool though. Keyboards sound kinda cool in the songs.

hey guys, new to the thread...
i think my peace for this thread is this: i think metallica made good music (except St. Anger) , i respect them, but i do not like their music. there. |

Come into the ***OFFICIAL*** metallica thread and say you dont like metallica how stupid is that. go away. Geez i think thats like in the neighborhood of 100ish. |
Often times new members think they should post in every thread, dispite there interests.
|
Worse yet he says "i think metallica made good music (except St. Anger)" and then goes on to controdict him self by saying " i respect them, but i do not like their music."
HIPOCRIT!!!!!!! Where can you read the rules? |
The R&M rules are stickied. R&M forum, sixth or seventh thread down, always there.
I can't wait to hear the Dream Theater version of Orion... |

Its good stuff I tell ya lol :thumb: |
Dream Theater does a very good job playing all the songs, as they are all extremely talented. The only thing that was weak was the vocals. I wouldnt listen to it over Metallica.
John Petrucci is damn good. |

Everything about it kicks ***, and yes while the vocals do lack in some stages, the almost perfect control of their instruments more then make up for it. Portnoy plays Disposable Heroes with perfect accuracy, never missing a beat. (And it's a little bit faster then Metallica). |
Have you guys heard the Pantera cover of Seek & Destroy?
|
No, is it good?
|
Have you guys heard the Pantera cover of Seek & Destroy?
