If I could find a 4-string with 16-16.5 mm string spacing, I'd probably get it.
But I probably can't. So I probably wont. 6-strings it is. |
My bike positively exploded this morning. Good timing though, I found the bike I'm going to buy just last night.

oh? |
We are referring to a motorcycle and not a pedal-power bike...correct?
|
I didn't ask a question I made a statement
furthermore, "yeah, no" would be the answer to 2 questions when I, as mentioned before, did not ask any questions
you shore told him, you did |

you have a bike? what kind? I am obsessed with getting a motorcycle, though I've never ridden before so I'll probably have to start off with a 250cc ninja or something. |
uuuh, bicycle. I'm too po' to afford a motorcycle.
But this guy is selling a 2004 or 2003 Raleigh Grand Prix roadbike. Those bikes retailed at 800-900 USD, and the newer models at like 1200. I'm getting it for 90 CAD?!?! with wheels that were put on last year. so...yeah. |
W00t! Aggy OBP-3 just came in the mail! I'm putting it in my 8-string and taking it in for a setup tonight. Yay-yuh.
|
New compressor and wireless in the mail tomorow hopefully :)
|
New stuff for everyone.
|
I sold my 6er long ago it just seemed impractical. If I need higher notes, I just play up on the neck. If I need lower notes...well I don't
And a smaller neck is way easier to work with imo
I wish I could put into words how much I love your user name <3 |
going to see the new terminator in less than an hour
|
I'm beginning to appreciate Ben Kenney as a bassist. His lines are actually very solid, creative, and work well with the music.
|
I just played a show. It was quite fun. Sound guy was a dick, though. I wanted to disembowel him.
|
I hate bad sound guys, they ruin music.
I hate bad sound guys, they ruin music.
He didn't do a horrible job with the sound (except that vocals weren't audible for the first few songs), he was just a dick. He kept disappearing and delaying the show, had a dick attitude. |
That's still being a bad sound guy so, fuck him.

Thank you, I'm surprised more people haven't shown praise for it; you're the first one I felt like a genius when I thought it up That could be for a few reasons though... |

Yeah pretty much every sound guy I've ever met was a dick. I'm remember one ska show I played the sound guy was being a huge cuntface because all 3 bands' bassists had ampegs lol |

What.The.F**k. ?.?.?. |
My tech wanted $30 to install the OBP-3...I have just done it myself for much cheaper: free. I have to say, that even with dead-ish strings, I am thoroughly impressed with this preamp. It's phenomenal.
I'm going to wait to put the bass in the shop until I can get a new set of strings. Sucks that a new set is $80 though. :upset: |

All you need is a tuner, allen keys, a Phillips head screwdriver, and a bit of time. 1. Adjust neck if needed 2. Restring 3. Tune up 4. Set action how you like it 5. Retune 6. Check the intonation by holding at the 12th and seeing if it's in tune 7. Adjust intonation at the bridge 8. Dig on that **** |

I can set up my instruments pretty well, but Phil is just phenomenal at it. I think it's his Stroborack tuner. |

Don't. :upset: |
Yeah I've got no idea either.

It was pretty much just an unstructured and grammatically incorrect description of rolling an L
|
Carry on.

Man that cough doesn't sound healthy.

We had already turned off our amps and were getting off stage last night when people just kept yelling "encore" at us. No one seemed to object, so we obliged. Our first encore.
|
Maybe when you heard "encore," they were actually saying "no more."
|

I got that. I figured it was from a movie or something.
Maybe when you heard "encore," they were actually saying "no more."
That's what I was screaming from here in AZ. |

YES. Some of his parts dick all over Dirk's live. You heard his solo work? Eulogy is like the catchiest song ever. |
YES.

Not sure if that's good or bad, but I personally don't care for some of his takes on Dirk's lines (form the YubTub vids I looked at of live shows). However, his lines on Light Grenades are actually quite decent and I'm interested to see more. I think it caught a lot of flack because the album felt very different from their previous 3, not because he was a bad bassist. I was checking out some of his solo stuff last night and I quite like it. I now know why Incubus picked him up - compositionally, their styles are very similar. Does Ben sing on his solo stuff? |
Maybe when you heard "encore," they were actually saying "no more."
Amazing. |
Yeah. Search for a video on Youtube of 'Eulogy Live'. It shows Ben playing everything and singing everything on it. Its great.
No, I really love his take on stuff like Pardon Me live. His fills make it. And his improvisation is beautiful. I think I remember him doing some crazy awesome stuff in the intro for Just a Phase. He's a hugely underrated guy. Doesn't do so well on the Certain Shade of Green front though. |

I wish he moved around more. He's not as much of a presence on stage as Dirk was. Still a solid player though. |
