I would like to see Hendrix with Maiden...that would be so "interesting" lol. Or maybe Eric Clapton...Because they play quite differently, it would be interesting to say the least.

Thunder Fingers 10-26-2004 04:05 PM

To far back.. first page stuff... :(

Who i would see playing for Iron Maiden... Timo tolki would sure be funny! if steve came running by him he would fall...

or Dave Mustaine! Think about him and steve in unison singing behind Bruce on Run to the Hills!

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-26-2004 04:06 PM

Andre Olbrich from Blind Guardian would sound perfect for a song like "caught somewhere in time"...anything fast paced.

Thunder Fingers 10-27-2004 08:30 AM

wow... Sum 41 opening for iron maiden.. scary stuff.. i am now convinced that Steve and the band hae nothing to do with who opens for them... like last year steve was asked to comment on their opening acts... "errrrh..."

-=The_Dude=- 10-27-2004 09:46 AM

i finally got some extra $$$ to buy a Maiden CD. I bought Number of the Beast and i absolutely love it. I just ordered Powerslave off Amazon.com

DBoons Ghost 10-27-2004 10:15 AM

I always thought Piece of Mind was their best. It's the one I listen to most. Still.

Still Hate FFAF tho... :upset:

Thunder Fingers 10-27-2004 11:01 AM

i think the management takes the most popular bands who are maiden fans, and dont care wich music style they play.. next tour probaly gonna have that hip hop/soul woman who sampled "The clansman"... :(

janickgersrocks 10-27-2004 01:43 PM

summer 2005

ashman 10-28-2004 11:36 AM

Ok, I have a topic for discussion...if one of the band members dropped down dead (I hope that doesn't happen) and you played the instrument they did (or sing in bruces case), what songs would you play?

I would probably play infinite dreams, or even SOTC, or CSIT on Bass or guitar.

GurS 10-28-2004 01:23 PM

Out of the silent planet all the way. I couldn't do it nicko style though, I'd use a double kick pedal

YDload 10-28-2004 01:29 PM

Since I play the bass, the correct answer would be... kill myself. I could play The Trooper with three fingers, but that is blasphemous to Steve. And even if I could play The Number of the Beast live with thousands of screaming fans, I would never look as cool and confident as Steve does. I would probably pull a groin muscle trying to put a foot up on one of the amps like Steve is prone to doing.

I'd come in for Dave Murray, to play with Adrian Smith would be awesome. Although he'd have to play the solos, but i would back him with some serious rhythm. We'd play a best-of set, along with some great underrated songs like The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner. :thumb:

Thunder Fingers 10-28-2004 01:41 PM

For Steve.... Blood Brothers.. Not his hardest piece, but the feelings in this song is just.. ah, wonderful... i would get an vintage fender P-bass, paint it like his west ham bass, string it with his signature strings, add an badass II bridge and make Seymour Duncan make me an EXACT copy of his pickups.. and i would play it through an Trace Elliot GP12X Pre amp with two Marshall 4x12 cabinets... Steves Death would have been the most expensive thing that ever had happened to me...

ashman 10-28-2004 01:50 PM
... Steves Death would have been the most expensive thing that ever had happened to me...
LOL, let's hope he doesn't die then :thumb:

Riva 10-28-2004 08:20 PM

I'd sing for Bruce, but leave the guitar for the true musicians.

I hope I could do Aces High, Ghost Of The Navigator and Powerslave justice.

Doesn't Adrian use Gibsons a lot?

Lord of Sword 10-29-2004 08:03 AM

i think he used nothing but gibsons and ibanezes on the early albums, and a few jacksons. on every photo i've seen of him from Killers he's got a les paul. he uses one on the rock in rio dvd aswell, but he mostly uses custom strats these days

Thunder Fingers 10-29-2004 10:22 AM
Doesn't Adrian use Gibsons a lot?
well, i still hate Jackson for ruining Trace Elliot(wich By The way, is steves Pre amp branch...) but Gibson quited the whole company about an year ago...i hate big company's that buys up everything and destroys their quality...

Anyway, about Steves Main Bass :p people say that he have always used the same P-bass, right? From Live At Rainbow to Rock in rio, well, it cant be... On Live at rainbow you can clearly see the headstock of the bass, well, yeah thats an bass from the 70's, becouse it have the FEnder Logo, and the Name of the bass Splashed out all over the headstock, and well, when you see on the headstock of the blue and the west ham one, you dont see the logo clearly at all(infact, on the wite one i dont think you see it at all...) wich means the blue have to be made either Before 1970, or after 1980... i know many of you dont care. but i just had to say :p

and on the 70's basses the Logo is black, so it would be easy to see :p

like this, you can clearly see that this is no 70's P-Bass...

HondoII 10-29-2004 11:23 AM

Dont know if this has been posted but meh.

In a recent interview with Kerrang.com, stand-up comedian Steve Hughes, a metal fanatic whose shows spin around the subject, explained why heavy metal was important to him.

"My friends in Sweden are total IRON MAIDEN fanatics," he stated. "They've got every MAIDEN record that was released in every country. That's dedication. Masterful. So they went to Croatia to see them. While they were on the train, passengers were being robbed by Croatian soldiers. They were sitting there in their MAIDEN shirts and bullet-belts freaking out. Suddenly, the soldiers confronted them armed with machine guns. They noticed their shirts and yelled 'IRON MAIDEN! The greatest band in the world! You are okay!' and left them alone. Heavy metal will save your life. If they were into WESTLIFE, they would have been shot in the face."

Thunder Fingers 10-30-2004 07:09 AM

page 4... :upset:

ashman 10-30-2004 09:12 AM

Hmm was on page 2...:(

Ok i have a new topic, maybe we should do like a best "Album" or "song" type thing, but we do it in groups, like group A has two songs, and people have to chose the best in that Group...

(I'm just trying to keep the thread alive)
