We Did It All for Don is my favorite pre-RAR song.

Madcanis 08-21-2007 11:01 AM

Personally I think 8 Full Hours of Sleep and What We Worked For are my favorite lyrically.

Henrik 08-21-2007 12:17 PM

I don't really get what "What We Worked For" is about exactly.

mullets suk 08-21-2007 03:35 PM

same, he kinda jumps about.

Cliche 08-22-2007 01:49 PM

I'm sure some of you remember the S/T 12" EP I posted a couple pages back that I could on eBay.

Well... $375!

Twin Human Highway Flares 08-22-2007 03:53 PM

Someone on VLV has two of those. I've decided to give up on it all together. It's not even all that good, except for I Am Citizen which is a f'ucking amazing song.

asdf 08-22-2007 03:54 PM

That's fucking ridiulous.

I wish I had something that valuable in my music collection... but I don't wish to spend that kind of money to get it.

mullets suk 08-22-2007 04:03 PM

yea, if a i found it at a garage sale for 3 bucks i would totally pick it up...but for over 100, let alone 350$, thats crazy.

Scuba_Steve 08-22-2007 07:03 PM

I think 75 would be the most I spent on an album.

Yeah, I agree completely. It's not that great of an album. It's just the novelty of having something so rare.

Anarcho Poser 08-23-2007 06:26 AM

You Must Be Willing is a pretty good song.

Johnny Quest. 08-27-2007 08:24 AM

I saw them on Friday and they were pretty good. They opened with Pints of Guiness, and the place went crazy, then it really sort of petered out, they ended with The Ocean, and nobody was into it, the set just...ended. They didn't play any other RAR material.

But they're coming back here in October, which is good news.

SkaRobotArmy 08-27-2007 09:28 AM

but the real question is, do you johnny quest, think they are sellouts?

Cliche 08-27-2007 10:56 AM

They're coming here October 1st. I'm so pumped.

Anarcho Poser 08-27-2007 12:17 PM

I'm way pissed, because they're coming to where I would normally be able to see them sept 5th, but I'm leaving for college on thursday :(

Angry Balled Fists! 08-27-2007 12:58 PM

against me! played a really poor set at leeds fest. 1 song off RAR, 2 of ATEC and the rest were off SFAFC and NW.

Henrik 08-27-2007 04:08 PM

Yeah, I heard they really blew ***.

I got my tickets today though! Hopefully they don't play Stop!

mullets suk 08-27-2007 07:07 PM

it kinda sucks you have to get lucky with the set list they play. my brother saw them about a year ago, and he said they played one or two songs off of RAR, but then mostly played SFAFC and NW. yet when i saw them 6 months later they play a bunch off of a RAR. they even played shit stroll, and of course other stuff off the other two albums + NW (Didnt come out at that time)

Yeah, when I saw them about 6 months ago they played Tonight We're Going to Give it 35%, and a bunch off of RaR, a couple off of ATEC, and maybe 2 or 3 from Clarity.

Yes. Anyone that says otherwise is wrong.

iliketoplaydrums10111 08-28-2007 09:51 AM

I got lucky

I saw them in April/Mayish
The played ATEC, every song minus 3 (2 acoustics and the third one on the album) and a couple from RAR (Pints of Guinness, Walking is Still Hones and Reinventing i think)

I was the most badass show ever.
You do these kind of things way too much.

Cliche 08-29-2007 02:07 PM

The new acoustic songs are out on iTunes, anyone have them yet?

Henrik 08-29-2007 03:19 PM

I would like to hear them but I don't want to pay for them for sure.

Cliche 08-29-2007 04:25 PM

Yeah, I was actually thinking about paying. But I probably won't.

Cliche 08-30-2007 02:58 PM

Against Me! played on Letterman last night. I'm downloading it now.

AIRIC 08-30-2007 03:35 PM
Nope that's actually correct.

Cliche 08-30-2007 03:41 PM

Aw man, they played Stop!

Anarcho Poser 08-30-2007 03:43 PM
Aw man, they played Stop!
Take some time to think.

Is this one song really what's important to you?

squirreltree 08-30-2007 07:07 PM

sigh

they're just a band, i don't know why people take everything they do so personally. besides, between tom and warren they have probably done more activism than most people ever will - warren was involved in the opening of 2 infoshops before he was even 19! not to mention all the florida radical activist network work and food not bombs and immokalle farm worker support and youth liberation camps and diy camps and theatre of the oppressed and blah blah blah... and zines and multiple bands and of course, "why freegan". and they're nice as hell and sincere people and you seriously have to have a sense of humor about what they do - i mean warren went train hopping and came back with a homemade 'youth gone wild' tattoo. they're silly! and they don't come from privileged backgrounds, they have worked incredibly hard and played and toured like crazy and it's pretty crappy to get pissed at them for accepting more money for what they're doing. it's ****ing great to see such nice people doing so well...
the first time i heard them play it was in the ocala forest for a may day gathering and it was just tom and kevin, playing on buckets and it was amazing... their shows are still as good as they were then, they're just different. if you don't like change then you're not really punks anyway.

Flagjacket 08-30-2007 07:29 PM

thread has been sent to the Unseen

Anarcho Poser 08-30-2007 07:50 PM

lawl. money's got nothing to do with it, if you've been reading. It's just that the songs suck.

I just uploaded that.

Anarcho Poser 08-30-2007 09:16 PM

lol tom winks at the camera at like 1:10
lol tom winks at the camera at like 1:10
Hah, that was the coolest part. Why do they play lame songs when they do these late night shows? Stop isn't even a song that a casual Letterman show viewer would see and like.

Cliche 08-31-2007 05:04 AM
lol tom winks at the camera at like 1:10
Totally noticed that. I'm working on making a .gif of it!

Anarcho Poser 08-31-2007 05:14 AM
