Bomb the Music Industry is charging people to see them? Lame.
Bomb the Music Industry is charging people to see them? Lame.
No, jess is charging people to see them.

you know, so she can do things like pay venues and sound equipment rentals.

Kithkin 09-18-2007 04:42 AM

You know what's ultra-lame?

They're going on tour with Anti Flag.

What's funny is that when they said it on stage, Jeff went into a rant about how Anti-Flag suck, and this little girl is standing on the edge of the pit wearing an Anti-Flag shirt. She looked so sad.

SkaRobotArmy 09-18-2007 05:20 AM

TakeWarning 09-18-2007 07:29 AM

I'm mad excited about the Perth show, but it's 18+ and I don't have a fake ID. :(

Henrik 09-18-2007 10:47 AM

Wow that sucks, can't you get one before the show?

I never got why venues make shows that are +18.
And I've actually never experienced it myself either. I'm not sure id it's legal to do so over here.

DrummerJonny 09-19-2007 12:38 AM

its cos it makes it 10x easier for the bar if its 18+ cos they dont have to worry about kids trying to get served.

it also costs the bands more to play if they want an under 18 show, in some places anyway...

Kithkin 09-19-2007 02:46 PM

It's also nice to not have little kids everywhere. Especially the ones who are there only because they have nothing better to do on a saturday, stand up in the front and slightly bob their heads.

lynch_me 09-19-2007 03:11 PM

Kith wants his shows filled with karate kicks and fists in the air.

ZaaR 09-19-2007 07:58 PM

i saw streetlight a couple of weeks ago in toronto and it was awesome. the only beef i had with it was that they didn't play the saddest song, which is my personal favorite on the album. can anyone link me to a video or anything of them playing it live?

Catchthe22 09-19-2007 08:21 PM

i wouldnt want to be sad at a concert. Im on Streetlight's side of this issue.

SkaRobotArmy 09-20-2007 07:42 AM

naw, its still a wicked awesome song. but who cares, some people people like to actually watch the band and enjoy the music and not get disgusting and sweaty\brutalized.
i like a good mixture of both except in streetlights case, went in the first song and never left.

Catchthe22 09-20-2007 08:43 AM

I was joking about the sad thing of course, but i agree with the mix of songs. Flogging Molly has a good mix from fast punk to slow anthems and I enjoyed them more just because of the variety.

Henrik 09-20-2007 08:59 AM

I think The Saddest Song might be the weakest one on EGN. Except for the hornlines.

Aficionado 09-20-2007 05:05 PM

I personally find The Big sleep to be one of the weakest on EGN.

SkaRobotArmy 09-20-2007 06:03 PM

i dont think there are any weak ones.

DougJI 09-21-2007 12:46 PM

The Big Sleep is one of the best songs on EGN, and the saddest song is so freakin catchy...

Failing, Flailing is really really weak on the album, but so unbelievably amazing live.

Aficionado 09-21-2007 01:10 PM

You kidding? Failing Flailing is one of my favourite on EGN.

DougJI 09-21-2007 01:18 PM
You kidding? Failing Flailing is one of my favourite on EGN.
The whole thing just seems like it lacks energy, and it seems like a filler song. When they play it live it sounds like it got a kick in the ***. I'm not saying the song is weak, but the recording on the album definitely is.

Aficionado 09-21-2007 04:27 PM

Ehh, maybe. But it has some of the best lyrics on the album.

DougJI 09-21-2007 05:33 PM
Ehh, maybe. But it has some of the best lyrics on the album.
Here's to Life > Failing, Flailing

Henrik 09-22-2007 08:26 AM

I think the ending of Failing, Flailing totally saves the song. I love that part.

And yep the lyrics are great.

ZaaR 09-24-2007 06:44 PM

i think the whole cd is solid. every song is good in it's own right. there are no "bad" songs on EGN

SkaRobotArmy 09-24-2007 09:02 PM

123.

DougJI 10-02-2007 03:57 PM

Leaked Streetlight Booklet/lyrics.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MRZ6JIM7

enjoy. I'd gander that the album will leak within days...

SkaRobotArmy 10-02-2007 05:01 PM

balls, i don't want it to for once!

Henrik 10-03-2007 08:26 AM

Impressing!

I don't feel like reading it though.

Kithkin 10-03-2007 07:45 PM

Jeeze leak already.

Cool, different cover art. The lyrics look good.

StreetlightRock 10-04-2007 11:01 PM

Yayz, got my tickets, Reel Big Fish and Less than Jake as well, should be a blast. Any other Aussies going here?

TakeWarning 10-05-2007 07:09 AM

I wish I was, but it's 18+ and TakeWarning is only 17!

Henrik 10-05-2007 07:37 AM

Isn't there really anything you can do about it? Get a fake ID or cheat yourself in or something like that?

Catchthe22 10-05-2007 11:01 AM

if they dont want people under 18, there must be a reason. Or no reason. Probably that second one.

Teeb 10-05-2007 11:03 AM
Isn't there really anything you can do about it? Get a fake ID or cheat yourself in or something like that?
Not really, the club they're playing at is the strictest in Perth when it comes to identification. I've tried and failed to gain entry to it a few times before.

DougJI 10-06-2007 01:15 PM
That link no longer works.
ok. find it yourself then?
