what are pigs on the wing?
|
what are pigs on the wing?
Well the way I interpret it (though its prob not the same as Roger) is well there is a saying "when pigs fly" so I figured it was people who break the rules and do the unexpected, and explore unchartted territory, in other words, those who rebel. |
so, are they good? Because it mentions that even dogs need shelter from them. Is this because these pigs on the wing harm their "evil" existence?
|

Well a dog who has never thought for himself would naturally fear an animal that has. The fact they have no control over the Pig on the Wing is what I think scares them. |
thanks rep++

No problem I'm always willing to talk about interpreting Pink Floyd's lyrics :thumb:
|
Im sorry if has been mentioned before but I couldn't be bothered going through all of the thread with no search feature. I was reading about the Publius Enigma and I saw the answer to the riddle, but I'm still unsure what was actually being asked of people. Was it to interpret the lyrics of the album? And one other thing. What was the prize given?
|
There's Pink Floyd laser shows everyday where I live. :). Never been to one though.. I've never had the time, heh. Once I get my own car I'll practically live there. Yay!
There's one here everyday too pretty much. Except, the two times I went, the wall was played. I think they have liek five different shows though. I hopin its different this friday... |
I had never even heard of them until recently :upset:

How come every thread I touch dies?

Obscured By Clouds is a good album.
Obscured By Clouds is a good album.
/random
Is indeed |
To the Dogs/Pigs conversation. The Dogs represent the military police in a communist society. The Pigs are the rich, controlling interests. The reason even Dogs need shelter is because these Pigs wield immense power over all who live under them. Think of a Pig On The Wing as being an immense overlord, hovering above the earth and casting a shadow over the everyday activities of the average man.
|
Man, it would be nice to see Pink Floyd doing Animals.
But I will kill to see them perform the entire WYWH album... that would be awesome. I just can't get enough of them after seeing Live at Pompeii. I have to see it every morning before I go to school, and then I hear one of their albums before classes start. I'm turning into a PF junkie. |
I had never even heard of them until recently :upset:
You were missing out sir. To post above me: PF junkieism is nothing to be ashamed of :) |

Sounds very Orwellian. |

Unless you count like, orchestrated type stuff. Well, they're the only two rock bands I'm that obsessive about. But yeah, I understand ya. |
/can't stand most Beatles albums
I'm glad you can get obsessed with this band then. If you want a band it will take forever to get a complete discography of though, look into Yes or Santana haha. |
I actually might be stoppin by a music store with Vinyl Records. I might actually pick up some classic floyd ones if they have em, since this oportunity never comes by often.
I just bought The Wall and DSOTM on eBay for about $40 shipped. :-P |

Yes, but despite all that they still produce good PF copies. Unfair :(
Stereotypes++ It's true, while we have almost none. Maybe I'll start one. /doesn't feel like it. |
Anyone else think that DSOTM's cover is just about the coolest idea for a cover known to man?
|
The DSOTM cover is way cool. I just saw a new WYWH 25th anniversary t-shirt for sale on liquidblue.com, most awesome shirt EVER. But, it's sold out... sad face.
|
I liked WYWH's cover more than Darkside's, but I like all PF covers, really.
|
And then through boomerangs at them while avoiding the most poisonous snakes in the world.
Hey, at least recognise that we aren't so primitive as to use boomerangs. I prefer a spear. |
