Signing bands with contracts has no place in hardcore. Hardcore is a counter-culture, and what's the point of a counter-culture if it's just a mirror of the culture it's resisting?

Hardcore is against capitalism etc, well signing contracts is to keep a band on your label TO MAKE MORE MONEY, obviously.
Hardcore is not about resisting capatilism. Hardcore is about "stage dives and high fives".

Judge were on Revelation
Bold were on Revelation
Bad Brains were on Victory
Youth of Today were on Revelation
In My Eyes were on Revelation
Floorpunch were on Equal Vision
and on and on
Right.......Just because I like a band, I don't know ****.
the song "firestorm" rules.

Let's Chop Cats! 10-10-2004 01:43 PM

Indeed it does. Their whole Firestorm era rules. Some of their newer (or what was new back when they were still together) isn't the best. But Firestorm freaking rules.

seriously, if you were in a band would you rather do all the work yourself, or just play, and have the label do everything else (pretty much)

Money becomes a MAJOR issue.
HARDCORE IS ABOUT BEING EDGE YOU FAGGOT
xTrue till Deathx 10-10-2004 02:04 PM

When I say Hardcore I don't mean corn fag and when you see 3 X's I ain't reading a porn mag. See you just confused like a gangsta with an organe rag. I'm watching the scene split up like a torn bag.

NewKindofArmy03 10-10-2004 02:10 PM

shane italian 10-10-2004 02:13 PM

and now theyre not even my friends, theyre just acquaintances.

Let's Chop Cats! 10-10-2004 02:14 PM

When I came home from coll-edge I was starting to rap,
Everybody was trading in their X's for cartons and packs.

xTrue till Deathx 10-10-2004 02:16 PM

The rest of these cats think weed, sex can help them get their steez back,
And they wonder where they keys at.

shane italian 10-10-2004 02:19 PM

Yall turn the red light on for a one night stand
Becoming whores for some empty Coors and Bud Light cans.

mikewhat 10-10-2004 02:20 PM

xTrue till Deathx 10-10-2004 02:22 PM

shane italian 10-10-2004 02:24 PM
what would Trophy Scars be considered?
I haven't heard them, but I think I heard someone say tech-metal? Don't listen to me though.

nothing6 10-10-2004 02:25 PM

i can tell there are screamo influences, but i wasn't sure if you guys had already discussed it and put them into a genre or not

shane italian 10-10-2004 02:28 PM

Check out the Emo/Screamo Thread in the Other Music forum. There's a lot of talk about them in there.

Win A Rabbit 10-10-2004 03:05 PM

what would rise against, senses fail, and the used be considered?

Let's Chop Cats! 10-10-2004 03:05 PM

Doesn't work for me ether, I'm just going to assume they haven't started it yet. It says show starts at 5, but that may mean doors.

Let's Chop Cats! 10-10-2004 03:07 PM
what would rise against, senses fail, and the used be considered?
Rise Against - Punk
Senses Fail - Pop-Rock
The Used - Pop-Rock

I've started calling bands Pop-Rock now, because these bands have zero association with punk.

NewKindofArmy03 10-10-2004 03:08 PM

yeah, i've always done that with bands like good charlotte and stuff. i either call them pop-rock or power pop.

NewKindofArmy03 10-10-2004 03:58 PM
