Anyone heard anything of a supposed Sonata DVD?[/QUOTE]
The only ones I've heard of are ones from Japan - one from '03, and one from '04. If these be the ones you're talking about - look on ebay; there's one or two of both on there today for @£15 apiece

Ha - they're Finnish! They're immune.
PS Tell me how to get around the swear filter - I want to write ****ing sometimes too..

Shattered_Future 09-22-2005 03:51 PM

If you're using the blue background with white text, here's what you do.

1. Type in half of the word
2. Go to color, select white
3. Type in another letter of the word
4. End the word

Enjoy.

Yes, pirate metal. I think it's self-explanatory.

Which reminds me, I didn't learn until after the fact that last Monday was Talk Like a Pirate Day. Yes, this is real. I'll make sure not to miss it next year.

My friend keeps telling me about all these power metal bands that I never heard of and I was wondering if you guys had:

I was just brosing In the black-metal forum and I noticed someone said:
"Power Metal is for fat people".
I was just like, what the f u c k?, that dosent even make sense.

I dont know but I love power-metal (Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, Dream Evil, Balsagoth, ect). Is the new Kamelot album good?

ArcLite 09-24-2005 08:59 AM

Yeah, the new Kamelot slays. It's one of those albums that's good top to bottom, not just a coulpe songs. Lots of good riffs, very melodic, and of course Khan's singing is top notch.

I haven't heard them, but I think they're technical death. I may be wrong, but I think that's what I've heard around here. Either way, I'd put money on it that they're not power metal.

Power metal that sings about pirates. A lot.

Kronos 09-24-2005 01:10 PM

They also like singing about pirate ghosts, and sea battles where the perfidious French get goodly drubbings. A lot.

On another note - 24hrs to Nightwish and Paradise Lost!

So, speaking of Power Metal, 3 Inches Of Blood did a good job with the "Upon the Boiling Seas" trilogy.

Saw Paradise Lost about 2 weeks ago and they were maybe the worst band I have ever seen. They only did some song off of the last couple of albums, with a lost of electronic rubish and no old classics.

Blast you rumboy...I want to see Nightwish...

I also like PL, but this doesn't look like an encouraging review.

there has been a discussion many times. Half of us like them and the rest of us - including me - find them too bland and generic ;)
