Feel Like Making Love, man that song is fawking halarious. It does really piss me off. It doesn't bother me when a kid truely likes a band thats cool man, regardless if it's Simple Plan or Pink Floyd, if you really like music I can respect your tastes.
But people who have been wearing Big Baggy Sweaters on year, then buy a skateboard and start listening to Punk the next, then start wearing Floyd and Zeppelin band shirts the next year, just piss me off. This isn't a case of diverse music tastes. This is a case of a bunch of kids jumping on the next bandwagon they see. These guys who have "converted" to classic rock, abandon their old musical tastes, (which I can't figure out for the life of my why they love a song one moment and hate it the next) and prance around as reformed rockers. They like your big name rock bands, IE: Zeppelin, Floyd, AC/DC, but as miik said before, ask them who Bad Company, Boston, Heart or anny less known Classic Rock band, they will be stumped. And the worst part is they don't even know more than 4 songs from the band. "Hey man, name 5 Pink Floyd songs" "Uh, time..money, the wall, uhhhh" Ugh. |

I would consider myself a real classic rock fan. I love and respect almost all things classic rock. My favorite bands stretch much further than just Zeppelin.
|
I just consider myself a critic. Nothing more, nothing less.
|
It really does get on my nevers when i see kids who where Led Zep shirts when I know for a fact the only song they know is stairway to heaven.
Edit: I'd say im a fan that respects his roots. |
Hopefully this fad will float over just like the rap fad, the punk fad and they will start liking techno or something.
|
Hopefully.....
|
I guess nobody likes my topic or my joke. I'll just go die...
|
I gave you huge laugh, and an advertisment/catchphrase.
|
Seriously, if you look into some of the Duff albums, there is some pretty psychedelic stuff.

Why doesn't Syd Barrett get mentioned when people are talking about Pink Floyd? He was much more impessive songwritter than Waters or Gilmore.
|
He gets mentioned a lot. Find the greatest songwriter thread.
|
I did and I was the only one who mentioned him.
|
Not all classic rock. Just Zeppelin and Floyd and other really popular bands like that. Go ask your average teenager their favorite Bad Company song.
Right. That's why I hope its just a fad. I don't really like people who claim to like classic rock, and they don't know past the popular ones. Kinda makes me annoyed. |
Yea I'm pretty sure we talked about Syd already. Like on page 70.
|
I'm a teenager and basically the only rock i listen to is classic rock. I don't see how anyone can really like heavy metal and new rock songs. Everyone should be enlightened by the greatest bands/artists of rock and roll history who are all classic rock bands.
1. The Beatles 2. Led Zeppelin 3. Jimi Hendrix 4. The Who 5. Rolling Stones 6. Bob Dylan 7. The Doors 8. Chuck Berry 9. Cream 10. Pink Floyd |

Zakath's gonna kill you. |
i would say my favorite classic band in pink floyd
their sound was so much ahead of their time |

I think because a lot of his stuff wasn't mainstream so not too many people know about it. He did some really trippy stuff :) trippy=goooood. |
Zakath's gonna kill you.
Or he may just call him a faggot and pretend to destroy miik's mind with his magical powers, quote a few stupid powermetal songs and leave... |
There i'm all caught up. No real conversation takes place when i'm not here. ;)
|
has anybody heard the greg kihn band? I heard them last night and they were pretty good
|
Back two-three years ago, I loved Classic Rock, but like all these newbie pre-skaters now classic rock kiddies all around me, I only liked the 'popular' songs (even though I knew every single **** Beatle song).
When this fad came, I didn't want to get involved in it, so I stopped preaching classic rock, and tried desperatly to find a band I can get involved in and know a lot more about (and thus far I've failed) so I can be seperated from the trend. Dammit, I liked it when it was all cool and stuff that I was one of a kind. |
man, I've always loved classic rock, I grew up on that stuff since I was born. Best there is.

I wouldn't consider beefheart psychadelic. Oh and the Beatles created psychadellic rock. |
^Beefheart is Psychedelic - Blues - Rock.
The Beatles didn't create Psychedelia. The Grateful Dead were basically the first. |
Right.... :thumb:

But that's of course opinion, as is the rest. So, it depends on your perspective on it all. :) |
