Yes, i agree it was 83 when i first joined, i accidentally closed of the internet, reconnected and it said like 553!.. Wierd eh :confused:

Just thought I'd comment that for a while in the beginning of the first thread, I was first for a about this long. Right now I have I think 5 posts in here.

In all honesty though 302 posts in 1 thread in like 2 and a half days is ridiculous.

I held positions 3-4 until people started spamming.

I held the 5th position for the longest time till like Gilmour said...the spamming started.

The first thread took a good (couple of?) month(s) to get to the number of posts this one has already. There was the kind of "new wave" around Christmas that boosted the posting incredibly.

Remember, I was away for six weeks at the beginning of last October, because of lack of internet at Uni, and when I got back I was able to catch up on the whole thread in a feasible amount of time.

Now, it is incredibly large, alot of users are using it now(not a bad thing), but there is alot less discussion and such as well...

Also a few of the big time posters in the thread don't discuss much outside of this thread in this forum...

I honestly think it started after me, zepfan, and a few other guys found out about this thread after the Ultimate Metal Band Comp was derailed by our off-topic conversation. Those were the days of zep's postcount explosion, and a lot of other people began coming into the thread at that time too.

The responsibility of rep and the consequent whoring for points and rep cannot be stressed enough as motivators for posting in this thread, too.

I'm just wondering, are my posts for the most part spamming, or not. Its harder for me to tell what is spamming or not in the community threads because there isn't a set topic, and I would hate to be spamming with out knowing it.

That was awhile ago heh. I think my over 50 is a lot though, and by a lot I mean too much <_< /creates leaving thread

I didn't post much in the beginning of the first thread, even though it was my own thread.

The highest I ever had was a 45 ppd I think. I had my explosion quite a while ago. Over the last summer it was, in the Pit. Then I got sick of the pit because it sucked and came to R&M. I consider myself a pretty productive poster now.

I dont think so, u wouldnt get a lot of votes from the regulars in the n00b of the month if u spammed up the most popular thread in all of R&M.

Spam is when people respond to stuff with like "yeah".

I think for a while I was only posting in this thread. It had much more to do with my lack of interest in the then-current threads than anything else. I too consider myself a pretty productive poster by this point, if only for the fact that I'm the only Aug '04 regular that still has under 5,000 posts. :) (spam whores!)

I consider myself the least well known old-schooler. I'm not super oldschool (Aug '03) but for having 8,700 posts, I truly think I am the least recognized, at least outside of R&M.
