Richie is better than Jeff but not by much. But Jeff is blind so it's still amazing how he can play guitar. |
i only know one war song. but it kicks ***. and it has a cow bell. and it's called "low rider"!
ok ok, i admit it, i'm a classic rock nut. i love led zeppelin, the beatles, the who, eric clapton, the doors, and so on. most of the bands i listen to broke up years before i was born. at 17, nearly every song on my playlist is older than me. but is it just my imagination, or is classic rock experiencing sort of a revival. i am running into an increasing number of classic rock fans my age. at my school (an all boys high school), the school newspaper took a poll of everyone's favorite genre and band. led zeppeling got 5th and the beatles got 6th, behind that rap crap. classic rock made up a large percent of ppls favorite genre. is this just by me, or are other ppl noticing this too?
o and for u classic rock fans, the crime of the new century was that the Yardbirds new CD, Birdland, recieved no attention at all. that deserved a grammy, or 6. so are there any other classic rock fans out there, and even if ur not, have u been noticing somewhat of a revival in interest for that sort of music?
CLASSIC ROCK IS THE REALL ROCK , it puts these crappy metal bands that just scream through a song to shame LONG LIVE ROCK |
I bought Gov't Mule - self titled today :)
|
Same here all these bands and song came out long befor me but cause of my dad ive been jammin to kiss and led zepplin and ac dc since i was 2
|
My dad doesn't like kiss and AC/DC. He's more like badmoon in music taste. Oh exept for he likes zeppelin.
|
my dad doesn't like ac/dc either
i don't like kiss, nor does my dad. we both love led zeppelin. |

I love War so much, my friend opened for them live. :D
u have a lucky friend. how did he manage that? |
poor man. the frampton tickets for me are only $20 a person!!
Hmm that's pretty cheap, I should check how much they are here, but i'm pretty broke right now, I've only got 31$, it's all in my account too. Even though today I made 120$ that's all gone to my band. |
WAR!
u have a lucky friend. how did he manage that?
War's either really crappy (probably not, I haven't heard anything by them) or his friend is very very good. |
u have a lucky friend. how did he manage that?
He a really good drummer, goes to special school and everything. He plays in his Dad's blues band and they have been playing the venue for a long time now and so when War came to town they got the opening spot. www.bluesbettie.com /advertising EDIT: he's 15 and he's always introduced as Nathan "the Future" Von Trotha |
i wish i was ur friend
|
 My friend says that Bob Dylan wrote house of the rising sun. But I'm not completely sure of that. Does anybody know?
|
I'm pretty sure it's a traditional piece. So, no one's sure who exactly wrote it.
|
Then i'm claiming it as my own!
*runs away like a madman* hahahaha first I have to kill Bob Dylan and the remaining members of the animals! Moon, who else covered it? I have to kill them all. |
hahaha
Jerry Garcia and David Grisman. |
Really? Jerry garcia? Maybe i'll just kidnap him and keep him in my basement. Same with bob dylan. I can make them perform for me :)
|
I've always known it as an animals tune....
But I mean, you won't have to kill me or anything I'll go with whatever you say... I swear to god I won't tell anybody, just please don't hurt me. *cries* |
Garcia's dead :p
|
**** I really have to pay attention to music news. Meh it's hard to tell who's alive and whos dead, especially in classic rock cause they are all dying anyway. This just means less work for me :)
 My friend says that Bob Dylan wrote house of the rising sun. But I'm not completely sure of that. Does anybody know?
No he didn't. It's like a really old blues song by some guy who I don't remember, and everybody covered it. Like Dylan, The Animals, The Ventures, and I know Hendrix did a song with the same name, but not sure if its the sames chords and all. Anybody know about that? |
"According to folklorist Alan Lomax in his book Our Singing Country (1941), the melody of "The House of the Rising Run" is a traditional English ballad and the lyrics were written by Georgia Turner and Bert Martin (both from Kentucky). The song was first recorded in the 1920s by black bluesman Texas Alexander and later covered by Leadbelly, Charlie Byrd, Roy Acuff, Woody Guthrie, the Weavers, Peter, Paul & Mary, Henry Mancini, Dolly Parton, David Allan Coe, John Fahey, Waylon Jennings, Tim Hardin, Buster Poindexter, Marianne Faithful, Tracy Chapman and Bob Dylan . . . just to name a few. "
Hopefully most of them are already dead.
Hopefully most of them are already dead.
