Joan of Arc - How Memory Works
Guided By Voices - Bee Thousand Rosie Thomas - These Friends of Mine These are my three albums of this week. |
† is a really good record
Yeah it's pretty damn good. I wish there were more tracks in the vein of Genesis though, I really like that one. |
I've been digging some droney sludge lately.
Namely Om, Sleep, the Melvins, Neurosis, Ufomammut. |
other men - wake up swimming
|
bet you dig other men all the time, fag.
|
Red House Painters - Ocean Beach & Michael
Okkervil River - Down The River Of Golden Dreams |
Nas - Illmatic
It's a kickass album, but when you think about how he recorded it when he was only twenty years old...damn. |
One Love is one of my favorite rap songs
|
Glassjaw - Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence
Lee Morgan - The Rumproller I recently downloaded a selection of Lee Morgan's discography from the 60's so I'm having a Lee Morgan fest the next couple of days. |
You'd like the first Pharaoh Overlord album.
yeah, I looked them up and they sound interesting, as do the SST band you mentioned. I´ll check them out. Right now, I´m digging some Spacemen 3. Great band, although I really can´t get into Spiritualized. |
Liz Phair - Exile in Guyville
It's been a few years. I used to listen to it quite a bit. It's dissapointing where her music has gone in the last few years, when this album is so good. |
Faust - The Faust Tapes
Faust - IV Can The Can stuff is a bunch of live albums |
Can live would probably be mindblowing.
|
Yeah.
Oh yeah, did you see Faust? I missed them when they played near me. |

That video rules. Oh and, Envy - A Dead Sinking Story and Melvins - Ozma |
I'm seeing Envy in a week.
|
Badass, with what other bands?
|
All Australian ones. The only ones I've heard/seen before are Saetia esque emo and Cult of Luna type metal.
|
Yeah.
Oh yeah, did you see Faust? I missed them when they played near me.
I can't fathom that they're still around. |
Snatch. - OST
I've been downloading movie soundtracks lately.
that's a great one. |
I can't fathom that they're still around.
why? Amon Duul II - Yeti |
why?
Amon Duul II - Yeti
The only albums I have from them are from the 70's, and like most krautrock bands I assumed they would have broken up by now. |
They broke up in 1975 (I think) but then reformed in the 90s or something
|
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - Orange
|
Keane - Under The Iron Sea - Only just got round to listening to this. It's not as good as Hopes & Fears imo but it may grow on me after a few listens.
|
XTC - Skylarking
|
Icky Thump
|
the new feist album. It's pretty. And the new Stars album. Oh, and HUM. Great band.
|
Yeah.
Oh yeah, did you see Faust? I missed them when they played near me.
Yeah I saw them. It was one of the weirdest shows I´ve seen, they were pretty crazy. Literally, crazy people. Their last song, they lit this bowl of something, which made some weird smelling smoky substance fill the room (was a small venue). You could just make out the band through the smoke, and the weird lights behind them, while the band themselves played this awesome jam which built up into a real noisy climax. Probably the trippiest thing I´ve ever seen. They were so good live. Their frontman kept marching through the crowd, grabbing random people. And he got this pneumatic drill out and started drilling a garbage can, sending sparks flying at those of us at the front. He was a fukcing lunatic, in the best way possible. |
Monoshock - Walk to the Fire
Holy shit. |
What do you make of Orange, Zebra? I bought it like 3 years ago and thought it was ok, but I havn't listened since my tastes have changed loads cine then.
|
Holy **** that Faust show sounds incredible, Bukowski
Happy Flowers - Too Many Bunnies (Not Enough Mittens) This is like stupid juvenile humour crossed with noise rock, made by Mr Anus and Mr Horribly Charred Infant. Contains classics such "Mom I gave the cat some acid" and "I wanna watch cartoons" |
IVE GOT THE PICNIC DISEASE AGAIN

Now I Got Worry is probably better. you might change your mind about the band if you hear it! |

Is there any possibility that you could upload it on the mailing list? I would really appriciate it. |
