Joan of Arc - How Memory Works
Guided By Voices - Bee Thousand
Rosie Thomas - These Friends of Mine

These are my three albums of this week.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-12-2007 12:49 AM
† is a really good record
Yeah it's pretty damn good. I wish there were more tracks in the vein of Genesis though, I really like that one.

Kage 07-12-2007 01:36 AM

I've been digging some droney sludge lately.

Namely Om, Sleep, the Melvins, Neurosis, Ufomammut.

perriwinkle 07-12-2007 01:36 AM

other men - wake up swimming

pixiesfanyo 07-12-2007 02:24 AM

bet you dig other men all the time, fag.

bleep_bloop 07-12-2007 02:28 AM

Red House Painters - Ocean Beach & Michael
Okkervil River - Down The River Of Golden Dreams

Glitterati 07-12-2007 02:37 AM

Nas - Illmatic

It's a kickass album, but when you think about how he recorded it when he was only twenty years old...damn.

bleep_bloop 07-12-2007 02:40 AM

One Love is one of my favorite rap songs

Interstate 07-12-2007 02:53 AM

Glassjaw - Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence
Lee Morgan - The Rumproller

I recently downloaded a selection of Lee Morgan's discography from the 60's so I'm having a Lee Morgan fest the next couple of days.

Bukowski 07-12-2007 05:22 AM
You'd like the first Pharaoh Overlord album.
yeah, I looked them up and they sound interesting, as do the SST band you mentioned. I´ll check them out.

Right now, I´m digging some Spacemen 3. Great band, although I really can´t get into Spiritualized.

asdf 07-12-2007 05:30 AM

Liz Phair - Exile in Guyville

It's been a few years. I used to listen to it quite a bit. It's dissapointing where her music has gone in the last few years, when this album is so good.

AlienEater 07-12-2007 05:38 AM

Faust - The Faust Tapes
Faust - IV
Can

The Can stuff is a bunch of live albums

Bukowski 07-12-2007 05:40 AM

Can live would probably be mindblowing.

AlienEater 07-12-2007 05:44 AM

Yeah.

Oh yeah, did you see Faust? I missed them when they played near me.

ATM 07-12-2007 07:34 AM

Oh and, Envy - A Dead Sinking Story and Melvins - Ozma

br3ad_man 07-12-2007 07:39 AM

I'm seeing Envy in a week.

ATM 07-12-2007 07:45 AM

Badass, with what other bands?

br3ad_man 07-12-2007 07:48 AM

All Australian ones. The only ones I've heard/seen before are Saetia esque emo and Cult of Luna type metal.

Anxious 07-12-2007 08:04 AM
Yeah.

Oh yeah, did you see Faust? I missed them when they played near me.
I can't fathom that they're still around.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-12-2007 08:16 AM
Snatch. - OST
I can't fathom that they're still around.
why?

Amon Duul II - Yeti

Anxious 07-12-2007 09:30 AM
why?

Amon Duul II - Yeti
The only albums I have from them are from the 70's, and like most krautrock bands I assumed they would have broken up by now.

AlienEater 07-12-2007 09:36 AM

They broke up in 1975 (I think) but then reformed in the 90s or something

Zebra 07-12-2007 12:20 PM

Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - Orange

Interstate 07-12-2007 12:24 PM

Keane - Under The Iron Sea - Only just got round to listening to this. It's not as good as Hopes & Fears imo but it may grow on me after a few listens.

Boilermaker 07-12-2007 12:24 PM

XTC - Skylarking

Jawaharal 07-12-2007 12:44 PM

Icky Thump

YourBiggestFan 07-12-2007 12:56 PM

the new feist album. It's pretty. And the new Stars album. Oh, and HUM. Great band.

Bukowski 07-12-2007 01:42 PM
Yeah.

Yeah I saw them. It was one of the weirdest shows I´ve seen, they were pretty crazy. Literally, crazy people. Their last song, they lit this bowl of something, which made some weird smelling smoky substance fill the room (was a small venue). You could just make out the band through the smoke, and the weird lights behind them, while the band themselves played this awesome jam which built up into a real noisy climax. Probably the trippiest thing I´ve ever seen. They were so good live. Their frontman kept marching through the crowd, grabbing random people. And he got this pneumatic drill out and started drilling a garbage can, sending sparks flying at those of us at the front. He was a fukcing lunatic, in the best way possible.

Happymeal 07-12-2007 01:59 PM

Monoshock - Walk to the Fire

Holy shit.

Kyle 07-12-2007 03:17 PM

AlienEater 07-12-2007 04:24 PM

Holy **** that Faust show sounds incredible, Bukowski

Happy Flowers - Too Many Bunnies (Not Enough Mittens)

This is like stupid juvenile humour crossed with noise rock, made by Mr Anus and Mr Horribly Charred Infant. Contains classics such "Mom I gave the cat some acid" and "I wanna watch cartoons"

Zmev 07-12-2007 05:11 PM
