Just got back from THE worst game of football I have ever had to play, the pitch was frozen before we started, stupidly big lumps of ice over the pitch yet the ref said it was ok to still play. Then it started raining and the icy wind picked up. I couldn't stop shivering for an hour, went in for a tackle and the other player caught my ankle so now my ankle is swollen and bruised to sh[I]i[/I]t. Shouldn't have even started the game the pitch was a joke, by the second half there was huge puddles of standing water everywhere, the ref was a complete dick. In the end our team walked off the pitch as it was unfit to play on.

that sounds gnarly. the worst conditions i ever encountered were probably the super early games in the winter, when the grass was frozen, etc. but i actually didnt mind those games that much, it was pretty fun to play and not have it be ridiculously hot outside

Sounds like almost every game of football I've ever played...Scottish weather, s'hite parks, terrible referees. The warm bath after was the highlight of the week when I played at pro-youth level.
