I thought James' voice was a little sketchy on the live Dyers Eve.

Huber 05-02-2005 02:09 PM

James' voice is always pretty sketchy live IMO

DisposableHeroes 05-02-2005 02:11 PM

He should try go Black album era voice

Huber 05-02-2005 02:12 PM

Yes, the Black Album's vocals are very good.

Carlos Santana 05-02-2005 02:15 PM

someone posted a vidoe fo Dyers Eve?

Joe 05-02-2005 02:17 PM
That Dyers Eve is from the MIAWTW tour. The MIAWTW tour show on 3/5/04 (LA Show 1) was the first time ever that they played Dyers Eve live in it's entirety.

IMO, Lars's best drumming is on Puppets.
I saw The God That Failed for it's first time in 10 years.

I didn't really like that setlist, at the LA Show

and to the people talking about black album voice, he blew his voice on that tour. I doubt we'll ever hear that kind of a sound

vashts80 05-02-2005 02:25 PM

His voice IMO at this point will never be the same...he's getting older, his voice is getting deeper.

IMO, his voice was best on the Justice and Black Album tours as well as the '99 tour (S&M, Woodstock, etc)

Edit: If somebody has TGTF live from this tour, could you please upload? That's my favorite song on TBA, it holds a lot of meaning for me.

RustedPieces 05-02-2005 02:25 PM

He only blew it out because they were covering "So What".

Mazeppa 05-02-2005 02:30 PM
He only blew it out because they were covering "So What".
I can't understand why they bother covering that song.

metalcritter666 05-02-2005 02:43 PM

I would say that they are all at their musical peaks on ...And Justice for all.

Six Foot Revolver 05-02-2005 03:10 PM
Did anyone ever heard a bass guitar on ajfa during a song.. not a "only bass" part.
Yeah, you have to listen really closely.

Where is there a bass only part on AJFA?

exup 05-02-2005 03:33 PM

i don't know.. but i just sayed it cause thats what i don't mean.
the bass from mop is great, that bassist was much cooler that all others.

metalcritter666 05-02-2005 03:37 PM

That bassist had a name.

Chu 05-02-2005 03:38 PM

exup 05-02-2005 03:41 PM

no kidding.. i just couldn't came on the name so i tryed to talk myself out of it.
i know he had long hair and a mustache and he was killed in the tourbus.
Did anyone ever heard a bass guitar on ajfa during a song.. not a "only bass" part.
yeah......like metalcritter said, cause the bass usually plays what the guitar does so its hard to distinguish

metalcritter666 05-02-2005 03:44 PM

Its really quiet, even though Jason used a pick which you would think would make it louder.

Has anyone heard Napsterbegone, or is it just a pisstake?

JonG 05-02-2005 03:44 PM

I'm referring to the person he described..

Just watched the video of Dream Theater doing Sanitarium (Welcome Home). It wasn't bad, never really liked the vocals that much.

lilmetallica 05-02-2005 04:44 PM

It probably is fake. has any one ever heard the kid rock & metallica version of turn the page(its live)? i just listened to it and its not all that bad.
Its welcome home (sanitarium). You reversed it ;).
