It's incredible. Track 2 and 3 (2 was the other one they put out) are a little too ultra-tech at times but then the album just settles into a really, really awesome groove. The guitars and bass are so constant but they aren't really overbearing other than those two tracks. The vocals are a mix between both albums, layered for sure but they have a bit of the edge they had on Neurotripsicks back.

really disappointing for me, we'll see what more listens will bring

Yeah, I was worried that it would be super generic tech-death drumming but thankfully that isn't the case. The second and third tracks still make me a little worried just because they sound more like Obscura songs (which is fine if it was Obscura and not Gorod) but the drummer does a really nice job and he and Barby seem to be locked in.

Yeah the album is pretty awesome so far.

Rebirth of Senses is kind of like how people describe Meshuggah (meaning it's like if Meshuggah was actually good).
