Depends on the sounds you like, I think Mustaine had a more sticato(sp?) thrash like style then Hammet, and Hammet's work is more lagoto(sp?) and more controled.

Yeah, Dave's soloing technique is a lot more unconventional than Kirk Hammett's, I think. Like you said, it's just what you prefer. The correct spellings are staccato and legato ;)

Mustaine's solos tend to blur together some notes, it creates a good effect whereas Kirk's are clean and you can hear every single note.

I actually couldn't care less who's solos are better. I think replacing lead guitarist in metallica doesn't make much of a difference. Even dave's solos on those demos sounded good. I guess it's just I like metallica's songs more than megadeth's, therefore I like kirk's solos more. But if those 2 were switched, I'd like dave's solos more. That's probably cause james writes bunch of stuff, and he is Mr. Metallica.

Dave is awsome...but I like kirk more.

i just don't know.. knoing metallica for ages and just started to listening to megadeth a few weeks ago i just can't get into it.. i really hate the voice of that dude and the songs are mostely boring i think..
can someone tell me some good songs so i can listen to them ..

His voice takes some getting into, it's an acquired taste.

oh and to the guy asking about jackson guitars. mine does not bend well at all and it is an incredible pain in the *** to change strings on a lock tuning tremolo (floyd rose?) and so it's not worth getting that. mine needs to be completely restrung, i need to fix the trust rod, and i need to clean off the fretboad completely and then i'll see how it is

RIP Cliff, you were truelly a great bassist.

This seems fitting, so I'll say it.

RIP thrash age Metallica

This is more about the human being Cliff burton, then a bands era of music. Cliff was an all around great person, and his bass playing skills were great, but we should try to remember him as a person rather then Metallicas bassist. Wasn't there a site like [url]www.cliffburton.de[/url] or something along those lines dedicated to him? I remember reading a bunch of stuff on it a while back.. he seemed like an awesome person, and he hated being called a rock star.
