I sense sarcasm?
I could try if you wanted?
I wouldn't teach you C++ though, probably Visual basic so you could write applications for Windows (Assuming you use Windows? A Metallica/Linux/Unix geek would rock :o)
I would love to learn but have no idea what you are on about. I will add you on MSN

Chu 05-01-2005 07:17 PM

Sure thing.

Huber 05-01-2005 07:18 PM

I'm American. I play Starcraft, Red Faction, and whatever console games come in the mail with Gamefly.

If I do anything it's going to be a website. I don't want to get back into VB or Java. It wasn't too exciting. Web design is, however.

Chu 05-01-2005 07:19 PM

Starcraft is a sick game, hell yeah :)
You play Diablo II?

Huber 05-01-2005 07:27 PM

I used to, my account expired and I lost all my stuff. I haven't been inspired to play since. That game got boring after awhile anyways, I couldn't play it for very long period of time.

Yeah, truth, I just go through stages.
At the moment I'm playing Natural Selection and occaisonally go on Diablo II.

Im trying to learn flash and illustrator at the moment. Photoshop has its limits. :p

Huber 05-01-2005 07:35 PM

i'm learning flash at school only, because I don't have flash here at my house. I have Swish here. :/

Chu 05-01-2005 07:46 PM

I have a copy of flash :p

rockerofnevada 05-01-2005 08:32 PM

ride the lightning-original metallica is the best((only because that's the only one i listen to from the old metallica))

whatduffhuck7 05-01-2005 08:32 PM
You should get back into it! :)
I'm kinda the same, I let guitar get the better of me, but recently I've been getting back into programming (And neglecting my guitar to be honest, I broke the high e string a while ago and haven't been bothered getting a replacement) for a job, so it's kinda rewarding.

Are you Australian by the way? And what games do you play?
that happend to me awhile back, didnt get the high E for about 3 months. it sucked at first going to pick it and nothing is there. but you get used to it. then when you do get it back its like heaven.

Why not Kill 'em All?

Huber 05-01-2005 09:14 PM

Let's see how many times people say "How is Kirk Hammet beating [insert guitarist here]! Stupid fanboys!" in the new guitar poll.

Meh, Hetfield lost by a ton, I'm pretty sure Hammet will do the same.

Huber 05-01-2005 10:51 PM

It's still bound to happen.

Leper 05-01-2005 11:14 PM

everyone loves to hate on metallica fans

PepsiMetal 05-01-2005 11:19 PM

I dont care as much for hammett as I do for hetfield. He is an exellent musician. Does lots of work in metallica. Like I said if he and jimmy page switched spots, hetfield would have gotten 70 votes and page 20. It's just lots of people here are classic rock fanatics. lol. At least most of the time it seems like that. It's pretty weird though like one poll hetfield gets 50 votes and next poll 20. I mean surely not all those 30 people had guitarists in second poll they liked over hetfield. Cause there were many good guitarists in the first poll as well. Ahh, politics. Complicated. :thumb:

And they all probably listened to metallica long time ago.

Drummer? Never knew he plays drums. I guess we learn something new everyday. :) But yea, hetfield does bunch of stuff in metallica. He does like 60% of work and kirk/lars do like 20% each. I guess that's how it is.

DisposableHeroes 05-02-2005 03:25 AM

I dont think James has ever written a bass or guitar part in Metallica

You can see him playing drums with Lars on the San Diego DVD.
I dont think James has ever written a bass or guitar part in Metallica
I think pretty much all the rhythm guitar parts have been written by James. And he recorded the bass on Hit The Lights.

DisposableHeroes 05-02-2005 05:42 AM

Bugger, i meant to say drums rather than guitar. He only played bass on an early demo version, which i'm sure was nothing special, if you can play guitar you can play bass.

JonG 05-02-2005 05:47 AM

Lars' best drumming is on Dyers Eve, hands down.

DisposableHeroes 05-02-2005 05:49 AM

You know he didnt play it all the way through when recording, right?

no_panic 05-02-2005 06:28 AM

I think that Lars' drumming isn't that mysterious or wonderful etc. I think he's just an average drummer with the ability to make normal beats sound good. He's a lot better song writer than he's a drummer, if you ask me. But still I like his attitude.

Apocalyptic Raids 05-02-2005 07:20 AM

Lars does the job competenly, but IMO a better drummer could've made their songs much more interesting.

Deth 05-02-2005 07:58 AM

On some songs on RTL, the drumming is just weird. It almost seems off-time.

ThrashMaster27 05-02-2005 08:00 AM

Yeah, true that. I've also noticed that in a lot of the demos and other stuff before Kill 'Em All. He seemingly can't keep a beat at all at times, which funnily enough Ron McGovney said.
