I'm so behind on my internet lingo. I started losing touch right when o rly came out.

Prince Charming 07-30-2006 05:33 PM

ITT: Anthony learns internetz wisdom

Yes, Ghost said it right. No one can post at my speed and maintain the quality I do.

My thoughts are just faster.

Nepenthe 07-30-2006 05:34 PM

Dude, I can post at a pretty rapid rate with a pretty high quality. 3k in like, what, 5 months?

I just can't litter up my posts with c0mput3r w3rdz. Not because I choose not to, but because I don't know how. And you know what, that actually makes me feel good about myself, not bad. Not at all.

How do I "litter my posts with COMTuTzperz WTeh lol000lllllerz w0rdze!"

I say ITT, that's about it.

Nepenthe 07-30-2006 05:54 PM

I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about me.

Prince Charming 07-30-2006 05:58 PM
I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about me.
I was though. I talk about myself. NOT to myself, but about myself. That's because I own.

Nepenthe 07-30-2006 06:12 PM

I love talking about myself.

Prince Charming 07-30-2006 06:18 PM

So do I. Lets about me. Indeed. You guys know I love CoB? btw

Nepenthe 07-30-2006 06:21 PM

You know, for someone who doesn't really even like CoB that much, I post in this thread alot. I do like Inearthed though.

Prince Charming 07-30-2006 06:34 PM

Yes. Inearthed \m/ Homeland 2 ftw

MRDuCran 07-31-2006 12:12 AM

I was listening to Inearthed the other night, Children of Bodom are so much better imo.

AA-12 07-31-2006 12:14 AM

No way, I rarely listen to CoB now. It's all Inearthed.

MRDuCran 07-31-2006 12:23 AM

Probably 'cause it sounds more like the music you like and the music I dislike. His vocals are nearly all growls, it's not very bright sounding like Hatebreeder and there's not enough melody. The opposite of what I love about CoB. But then again, I have only listened to each song once or twice.

I'll tie. Both are great.

That's my two cents.

I'll maybe make another catchy avatar tonight. :p

MRDuCran 07-31-2006 02:21 AM

I downloaded Beware the Heavens and To Hell and back by Sinergy recently. THaB is cool, I LOVE Return to the Fourth World, I really wana record it but that middle section is a bitch. I Spit on your Grave is still probably my fave song by them though.

AA-12 07-31-2006 02:21 AM

I can't listen to Sinergy :(

Prince Charming 07-31-2006 02:23 AM

Female singers hurt his sense of manhood. ITT

repcak 07-31-2006 05:13 AM

i need longer to get into power metal than into death metal, but now i like symphony x, rhapsody and of course sinergy.

the riffs and solos roope and alexi write for sinergy are sometimes even better and more catchy than cob

Prince Charming 07-31-2006 05:20 AM

Sinergy > CoB
tbh

Sinergy isn't power metal. Who told you that?

repcak 07-31-2006 05:28 AM

Sinergy is not power metal? what? i told it myself

clown_phobia 07-31-2006 05:57 AM

I find power metal bands easier to get into because of the vocals and the less full on sound of the guitar

Prince Charming 07-31-2006 06:28 AM
Sinergy is not power metal? what? i told it myself
Yeah. I'd call it metal. That's all. Just plain old metal. It's not power metal. It's very good metal though.

@ Clown, I disagree. It can go either way for me. It used to be DM was very hard to get into, but it's really done a 180. I need that edge with my music these days. The more intense, the better. In most cases for me.

repcak 07-31-2006 06:36 AM

some of you may know it, mitch for sure. yesterday my wrist hurt me a lot and i suddenly don't know if my left hand position is right. i searched in google and on guitar sites to see pictures of other and their left hand position.
the forehand and arm should be straight but when i reach the low e-string i have to make a big angle (nearly 90°) - i'm insecure if this is normal and i fear to go on with playing and injure my wrist once again.
can any of you make some pictures of you left hand position and your angle when reaching the low/high e-string on the first fret? that would be nice...

i posted the topic in the guitar forum too
http://sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=485115
but i know that YOU know how to play guitar and therefor i ask you too.

MRDuCran 07-31-2006 08:07 AM

If you can't reach the low E string, you shouldn't be stretching your wrist, you should lift your forearm so there's no strain.

There's no rule to say where you should have your forearm so you can have it sticking straight out (elbow nearly touching the body), elbow away from the body, forearm and bicep at 90°, forearm and bicep smaller than 90° etc etc.

If you asked me, I'd say as long as you can play the notes accurately without any strain on any part of your body, then it's correct technique...don't forget everyone's body structure is different. What may feel easy to you may be painful to John Petrucci etc. Just don't worry to much about sitting/standing in one position because you don't stay still when you stand, walk, play live etc.

AA-12 07-31-2006 08:11 AM

I play guitar with my left hand at about 80° and i'm fine

Oh wait, I have carpal tunnel :-\

repcak 07-31-2006 08:17 AM

i usually play with my forearm near my body, but now i paid attention to all my moves and when i play something above (on the first fret) i have to angle my wrist - but when my forearm is standing away of my body my wrist is straight with a little arch.

but i always played that way and hardly had injuries; maybe it was because i played too much on one day... now i take care of all my moves and it seems that i'm fine. my wrist is to 90% healed up.

through my wrist problem i got insecure at my technique... next time i have to ask my guitar teacher if i do it right.

Shadows Within 07-31-2006 08:17 AM

^^ mee too except for me its right not left

and Sinergy does kick major ammounts of ***.

AA-12 07-31-2006 08:19 AM

Rep, you should play classical style like i've been doing for a long time. It'd probably prevent problems.

@SW: I've got it in both, heh.
