If someone could do me a favor and watch the YSI thread. Someone is trying to get a full album upload, and I issued a warning.

If a link to a full album gets posted, can you guys kill it for me? Thanks.
Ah yes, fish and chips. England's beloved deep-fried cultural disaster.

I got the Public Enemy Live in London DVD today...the actual show was great, but the quality of the video footage was terrible. It also reminded me of the time I helped my friend's band win the Battle of the Bands one year in HS when we did Bring The Noise

I honestly never saw what was so special about Cliff Burton, and I still think it's funny/fishy that someone with the screenname "Zeppelin_rocks" would vote for him over John Paul Jones. I voted for John Entwistle. And given the mindless following Flea has, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some cheating on his end this round.

And I got a namechange long before it was cool. Kids these days.
As did I.

RCA 07-13-2005 04:43 PM

What's with all the name changes? I don't know anyone anymore!

Alright, my boys and girls, I am going to request that, due to the fact we have about 60 [username]'s [weekly thread] threads on the forums now, if you want to ensure I see all your issues, email the link(s) to me at HeavyRiva@gmail.com. Thankyou.

EDIT: Looks like I'm the only bloke who's man enough to avoid getting a name change. ***** girls.

That's all I can think of, anyway.

Okay, MXican -> Twin Revolvers -> Six Foot Revolver (courtesy of the Yogi)

MalcolmYoungRock -> Mister Blue Sky (he rarely posts here, so that's why I forgot him)
he was pretty crap actually...
Thats just a false statement. Cliff Burton wasnt near crap.

NJMetalMeister 07-13-2005 04:59 PM
I thought Iai was the one who was going to run the modern rock poll. He was going to do it after the greatest guitarists poll, but he let YDload run the bassists poll.
Well that's what I was wondering. I knew that it was his plan to run it after the CR poll, but then he up and left R&M, so I wasn't sure if he was still on. Thanks for that, though.

Lord Abortion 07-13-2005 05:02 PM

I really don't see any of his bass parts that really stand out as brilliant except anesthesia, he is vastly overrated IMO

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-13-2005 05:03 PM

As if most of the other bassists in that poll aren't?

Endless Obsession 07-13-2005 05:04 PM
I really don't see any of his bass parts that really stand out as brilliant except anesthesia, he is vastly overrated IMO
There is no doubt he is overrated, but anyone who dies prematurely is overrated, ex. Abe Lincoln, JFK, Dimebag Darrell. But that doesnt mean he is crap, he was a professional musician. Listen to Orion, or any old stuff you can hear him doin his thing.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-13-2005 05:09 PM

I watched War of the Worlds last night, and it was a lot better than everyone's saying it is. It's kind of a Starcraft: The Movie type of deal, but I still thought it was ok.

RCA 07-13-2005 05:09 PM

I'm going to see that tommorow with family. Glad to hear someone liked it!

EDIT: To Madey

when I say he was crap I didn't mean really crap, like a bad bassist or musician, just compared to 'arry, he pales in comparison

Bartender 07-13-2005 05:16 PM

I didn't know there was a Bewitched film coming out. I hope they haven't screwed it up. Who else is in it?

Whos 'arry? The guy from Maiden?
I didn't know there was a Bewitched film coming out. I hope they haven't screwed it up. Who else is in it?
Nicole Kidman plays the witch. And Michael Caine is in it too.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-13-2005 05:18 PM

I think Nicole Kidman is the main witch. Not sure who else, though.

Man, I hate going to the movies. Eight freaking bucks to get in!?! What the hell? Especially when I usually go with my friends and never even watch the movie. We just sort of socialize in the dark and ruin the movie for the rest of the people.

Oh, and Bart, since you're in here, did you see my post in the report/suggest thread? There were like a million spam posts that I reported by the same guy, but he still isn't banned/warned. Just thought I'd give you a heads up. it's the 3rd page back, I think.
Whos 'arry? The guy from Maiden?
.
yes.

anyway, I saw a great play tonight, a fantastic adaptation of Terry Pratchett's Maskerade book. Stayed true to the book throughout and was great, especially for an amateur production.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-13-2005 05:55 PM

So hmm..What's the last song everyone has played on their insturment? For me, Lateralus by Tool.

Your turn. :D

magicbus 07-13-2005 05:56 PM

I played a blues jam (which is what I usually do anyways) today, but without my ME-50, my ****ty Ibanez amp was giving me horrible tone, and I had to stop.

Endless Obsession 07-13-2005 06:00 PM

Lamb of God - The Subtle Arts of Murder and Persuasion

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-13-2005 06:00 PM

I played without an amp because I need a new guitar cable, dammit! :upset: It's still fun to play without an amp though.
