Dimebag had some incredible riffs. I like his use of pinch harmonics in the middle of riffs as well. He was awesome. A lot of Metallica riffs kinds bore me. Am I the only person who generally likes Metallica but HATES "Enter Sandman"? And is it weird that my favourite song of theirs is their "Mercyful Fate" medley? That's such an awesome track, they improved on King Diamond's wailing!

i like the main riff in enter sandman, the solo without wah, as I said before, hurts the ears...and have you heard all the metallica songs? the actual ones, not the covers?

Of course I have! Well probably not each and every one of them, but a lot! My favourite songs are 'Fade To Black', 'Creeping Death', 'Master Of Puppets', 'Call Of Ktulu" and "St. Anger". One of those was a lie, guess which one. But I just really love that Mercyful Fate medley! It's so cool! The Garage Inc. CD2 really rocks.

Most of The Punk Tribute's okay, some of it's funny but some songs just suck really badly. Like there's a cover of Sad But True and it's just the bass and drums while the guitar just play one chord over and over.
And the enter Sandman cover sucks too, it's an electronic drumbeat all the way through which me no like.

My Dad has agreed to buy me a ML for Christmas!...speaking of the ML the ml master was dime (one of my many hero's) and I can tell you that it don't/won't
get much better then Dime...that being said he was his own style and I don't think he would have worked in tallica or Megadeth (didn't he audition for them?)

i suppose it depends what your into, metallica been around a long time, there like different bands. There earlier stuff was awesome, note the interest in fade to black, puppets, creeping death and call of ktulu. But what about Battery and Welcome Home (Sanitarium)?

And its gotta be said that the disposable heroes solo is one of kirks most tasteful.

Agreed, 'Battery' and 'Sanitarium' are absolute choons. I actually dislike a lot of 'Kill 'em All', cos it's less intelligent thrash, which I don't really enjoy. Just my opinion. But when they perfected their art, they were unstoppable.
